WHIDBEY ISLAND GET-AWAY offer a beautiful rustic wooded setting within a few minutes drive to a beach. You may hear a far off rooster crow, but mostly all you will hear are the sounds of croaking frogs or a hooty owl. Nearby are picturesque public beaches with views of Mt Raineer and snowcapped Cascade and Olympic Mountains. Within minutes are the WA State historic seaside villages of Clinton, Langley, Freeland and Coupeville that offer wonderful dining, shopping, art gallery, and entertainment opportunities. Recreational opportunities such as cycling, hiking, kayaking, fishing, crabbing and boating abound. And one more thing: WHIDBEY ISLANDERS are typically friendly and helpful. ;-) We are located in Puget Sound, about one hour north of Seattle. Travel further north by rural highways and ferry and you will be in the legendary San Juan Islands or nearby Olympic Peninsula.

These sweet hosts spend a lot of time creating a fantastic camping experience. From the campfire ring to homemade s’mores they are just the best host we’ve ever found! Love them so much. We’ll arrange our travels to visit them every year. Oh and Whidbey is wonderful too!
My stay started off with multiple people helping me back my trailer into the forest. It was nifty being amongst the huge trees and my two nights were fantastic. I greatly enjoyed our time around the firepit. You couldn't have been accommodating.
Heathgal and her husband are lovely hosts. We enjoyed wine tasting and sightseeing on the island. Then we came “home” to great conversation and the sharing of a happy hour and meal with our hosts and the other Boondocker guests.
Very quiet at night except for an occasional owl.
We will definitely visit here again as we feel we have made new friends. Thanks!
Our stay beneath the huge cedars was only improved by our consummate hosts. They were even able to provide electric (fill your water tank prior to arrival). Whidbey Island is a delightful place to kick back and relax. Thanks so much to Sharen and Simon.
When I drove up to this little piece of paradise I was greeted by Heathgal. She was so welcoming and we sat under the trees and visited for a while, she shared some of her favorite places to eat and see and suggestions for a beautiful bike ride! It was so peaceful and I met a couple of wonderful guests that were staying at her adorable Air bnb and we spent hours together visiting!
What a find!!
Thank you so very much
I look forward to coming back again!
We were a bit slow to start here as we arrived and no one else was there since the hosts were of on their own excursion. Not to worry though, we got situated and settled in. A Very peaceful stay, surrounded by 100 foot Cedar and Fir trees, so many birds singing, I could go on and on! A excellent place to stay! We hope to be back!
Loved this little camp spot. Beautiful location and thoughtfully planned out with a fire pit, outhouse, and lots of cute art.
I almost don't want to share Sharen and Simon with anyone else.
We loved staying with them. They greater us with a warm fire our first night and then dinner of Bangers and Mash.
Loved chatting about everything and feeling like family.
You can't help but not love them and Whidbey Island.
Thank you Sharen and Simon. We will be back!
We spent three nights at this Whidbey island getaway and had a lovely time. The campsite is very natural and woodsy with a large fire pit and lots of chairs and tables. Our hostess gave us a warm welcome and had excellent suggestions for local activities. She is also well informed about the history of the island. We enjoyed visiting around the campfire. It's a heavily shaded spot so be sure to bring a sweatshirt. This is a charming stop for Boondockers.
We had a nice time staying 2 nights at Heathgal's " mini park". The hosts were very hospitable providing good advice and recommendations. Great location, we highly recommend this stay!
Getaway is right. This is by far one of the best sites we have visited. Speedy response time and clear, easy directions. Place of solace and tranquility. Already planning a trip back!
The most lovely and interesting folks I've met! Have set up fabulous amenities including a tent covered area and fire pit.
Beautiful property with tremendous trees and lovely neighbors.
10/10 would recommend.
Can't wait to see them again - thanks Heathgal!
Their place was not your standard location; complete with rv spot, fire pit, wooded area for small hikes, a farm next door and great hospitality!!
When we goto Whidbey Island we will be sure to visit!!
Although rain prevented sitting around the propane fire pit, I could imagine how nice it would be on a warmer (and dryer) evening. Air was fresh and even the rain was welcome for this "Oregon smoke and fire 'refugee' - Verizon and T-Mobile service available, but not strong enough for streaming. E-mail, text all good. Would have enjoyed some safely-spaced conversation around the campfire - but we will try another time.
Boondockers Welcome is a wonderful gift for us RVers and once in a while you encounter extra special hosts. These Whidbey Island hosts are just that.
The sweet camping space they’ve created is so special and comfortable. It’s quiet and shady - if you’re lucky you’ll hear the Great Horned Owl as we did.
They themselves are so kind and generous-we hate to leave!
Whidbey Island is full of lovely places, sights and activities.
We’ll be back next summer!!
We stayed in their yard which was more beautiful than many campgrounds! They are working to make their property even easier for RV campers, including pads and a fire ring. Sharon and Simon are interesting, friendly and helpful. We can’t say enough about our experience with them.
They went above and beyond to accommodate and make me feel welcome. This was my first experience with Boondockers Welcome and I don’t see how it could get any better. Their place is beautiful easy to get to and although in a neighborhood if feels secluded, rustic and peaceful. I’d see myself staying in touch with these people for years to come.
What an awesome place to stay and explore Whidbey Island. Sharon and Simon are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed visiting and sharing our experiences around a campfire (keeping 6ft. apart). We definitely be back to visit and explore more of beautiful Whidney Island.
