Love the Outdoors and Music Details: We enjoy watching birds, listening to live music (RP plays the handpan, piano and didgeridoo), travel and good food. We swim and hike regularly and RP has recently taken to rock climbing. Last year we traveled to Baja to see whales and swim with whale sharks., traveled to Quebec to pick up our travel trailer (Alto by Safari Condo), flew to Oaxaca (Mexico) for the Day of the Dead celebration and finished up the year with Thanksgiving at Big Bend National Park. Home Town: Austin, Texas Favorite Boondocking Locations: Don't have any to share yet! Skills or Expertise to Share: RP is the original MacGyver; he currently (retires in May) works for a civil engineering firm specializing in road and pavement characteristics. He makes prototypes of machines to measure characteristics. He also makes didgeridoos (https://www.austindidgeridoo.com/who-we-are/ ) and performs with the local band Antares, playing the handpan and didgeridoo. Somehow he fits in making soap, rock climbing and playing the piano. Peggy has spent the last 45 years in travel. And, until recently, the last 40 in running a company that offers birdwatching tours worldwide, www.fieldguides.com. She spends most her time planning their adventures.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Austin!! RP and Peggy were both very friendly. RP greeted us when we arrived showed us where to park and get settled in. We stayed two nights and had a very nice chat with both RP and Peggy one evening where they gave us great advice about Big Bend National park, which we were visiting next. This location is very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect spot to stay in Austin area! Quiet and close to any place I needed to go. Plenty of room for my 27’ and tow car, picnic table, water and electric but didn’t need it. I met one of my hosts but visited family, so I wasn’t around enough to meet the other. Very nice and helpful. I even saw 5 deer the morning before I left! Would LOVE to stay again!
