Located right smack in the middle, between the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires.
Please read the entire listing, it will answer most, if not all, of your questions. Thank you.
Excellent broadband WiFi is available & included.
I use AT&T for cell phone, and even though only two (sometimes one) bars, I have no problem with calls or texts.
Also, Verizon tower located right in town.
Other services… T-mobil, Cricket, etc., eh…
Old adage: "After a few days, both fish and guests begin to stink." On the other hand, I have had guests stay for a month... so it's a "play it by ear" thing.
No gens into the night, it's so quiet and peaceful here you won't want to anyhow!
(Generator "off" hours: 8:00pm - 6:00am)
I have two sites with 50/30/20A electric, water, and sewer (full hook-ups, and no need for electric adapters!). True boondocking is free, but if you choose a site with hook-ups there would be a fee.
Responsible pet owners are welcome to bring their well behaved animals. Your pet can be off-leash, but there is no dedicated fenced-in area.
"Responsible pet owners" pick up after their animals, don't leave them unattended, do not have to raise their voice to maintain control, etc.
"Well behaved animals" don't nip at people or other animals, don't have annoying vocal habits, don't exhibit any other anti-social behaviors, etc.
GPS won't always give you the best route, I can do that when we speak.
No "pull thru" but the site is open enough to make a y-turn and not have to unhook your trailer.
Plenty of room for everything!
If you are travelling with friends (i.e. multiple RVs) there is probably room for all, provided the additional ones will be truly boondocking. (Remember, only 2 sites have full hook-ups.)
Available each year from mid May thru October, possibly into November.
That said, the last day for an overnight stay in 2021 will be October 24th. See you in the spring of 2022! As always, I leave the calendar open so we can message back and forth. Pick any faux date, and make a stay request and send a message. Once we are done messaging, I will cancel the faux request.
You may book up to 6 months in advance, but you would have to snail-mail me a check for $100 which I would refund to you upon arrival. This is solely meant to help prevent "no-shows".
Nearby attractions include:
1. The Old Creamery Co-op (A combo grocery, deli, bakery, with a wide selection of fresh produce. Much of it local and organic. A variety of grocery staples, homemade bread and pastries, beer, wine, and a small selection of liquor. Located right here in Cummington. Collectively owned by 952 local individuals!!)
2. Mt. Greylock
3. Mass MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art)
4. Village of Shelburne Falls
5. The Clark (art museum)
6. The Bryant Homestead
7. Norman Rockwell Museum
… and a variety of hiking and biking trails; and plenty of just plain old peace and quiet!
M provided us very clear directions by text making it easy for us to find him. Upon arrival he guided us onto a level grassy spot adjacent a large field. He offered full services but we didn’t use them this visit. Our dog enjoyed the chance to play fetch off leash with her ball. We built a nice campfire with his precut wood in his fire pit and he joined us for a friendly chat on life and camping. Thanks M, hope to stop by your spot again.
We did not get to meet our host because he was called away, but he communicated perfectly. The spot is on the edge of a lovely field, with a couple of other RVs. Would love to return sometime and meet our generous host.
Quiet, beautiful place to rest. Very helpful and pleasant host. Hope to visit longer next time and check out the walking trails.
Here for just one night. Wish we could have stayed longer. Scooter trash was very helpful in getting us parked in just the right spot. Also gave us good directions for our further travels.
Friendly host, beautiful view of the field, super quiet (much needed), and will return!
We only stayed one night and only met the host briefly. Full hookups were convenient but a bit pricey at $30/night.
We had a nice and peaceful stay for a couple days. Host is very helpful, responsive and welcoming. We have a 40 foot coach and we stayed with full hookups on a back in grassy area. We faced our neighbors who were on the adjacent concrete pad site. A couple things to note for a Class A. With our manual air level system, we could get close to level on grassy area, but not perfect. Also, there are a couple low branches on the roads getting to and from from the place, so be careful driving in. If you like to hike, there are some marked trails just down the road. Thanks for the stay, hope to be back sometime!
Host greeted us and gave parking directions. He has a great location with a long wooded paved drive back a ways to his home. Level grass parking. We got a tour of his immense garage! Very quiet restful overnight spot.
Boondocking area is solid, level ground. Didn’t even get soft through a heavy rain. Follow his directions, not your GPS, for the best route in, especially with a bigger rig. Would stay again!
Great host and beautiful location. Would love to come back and enjoy the area more. Thanks for a great stay!
Scootertrash is incredible!!! He was there to greet us and help get us settled. Always had a smile on his face and made sure all of our questions were answered and needs were met.
It was a last minute stop due to forced hurricane evacuation at the park we were in as Henri approached, host was super accommodating despite the request the night before.
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful property and area.
This is a beautiful camping spot and we really enjoyed it. And Scootertrash is a great host too. Our 40 foot diesel pusher motorhome fits easily on his level concrete pad, so don't worry about the size of your rig here. We will definitely be back!
Wow ,Thanks again to Scooter trash for making this spot available to rvers. He has made improvements here tailored to those who need a stopover point in their travels and it covers all the bases. we found it was easier to disconnect our toad in the street due to minor dips and slants, and sites are flat (might need some cribbing for level).Very quiet and secluded area . Highly recommend
We were very excited to arrive at our first Boondockers welcome site and Scootertrash made it very memorable. We will definitely be returning to this location in the future and highly recommend it to other passing through. If you're looking for a well-maintained space with an opportunity for great conversation, this is the spot for you!
I’m working from the road and this was a beautiful, peaceful location. Scootertrash, is extremely accommodating, communicates well and is happy to help you out in anyway. Gave me great directions for a long morning walk from the property. I will be sure to stay again if passing through.
Scootertrash has great WiFi so I’m noting here, for information sake only, that I could not get a T-Mobile signal at all on my MiFi and my ATT phone service was a one bar situation.
Thanks for the stay!
Our host was very thoughtful and considerate. He helped us get settled in the perfect spot. His property is gorgeous! It is quiet & beautiful and for a reasonable fee we had full hookups. There was another guest staying the same night and the host built a lovely fire which we all sat around and talked. I didn't want to leave!
Host was response, helpful, and land is beautiful. My dogs and I had a short stay and enjoyed everything this awesome space had to offer. Would definitely come again.
First night in the grass and second night with hook ups. Scootertrash has a nice setup and is very accommodating to guests.
The place was nice quiet and out in the country! It was a very pleasant stay and host was very helpful.
We felt very welcomed here! The host gave us a great restaurant recommendation which we enjoyed on our first night.
Scootertrash was a friendly helpful host. He called us as soon as we requested so we could discuss all details up front. His property is very quiet and lovely. There were two other guests also staying but there was plenty of space for privacy. We visited the Creamery for some delicious sandwiches and then went for a walk around the Bryant Homestead as recommended by our host. We saw a porcupine, deer, a lizard(!) and lots of cows and horses. For dinner we went to the Rabbit Hole for the best burgers ever! Thank you for having us!
Host was very friendly. We had a fire 🔥 one night and talked about our camping adventures. Nice and quiet. Would stay there again if we are ever in the area.
This was our first, yes, first Boondockers Welcome experience and it set the bar high for all others! Scootertrash was quick to respond to questions, very accommodating, respectfully social and down to Earth. LOVE that about a person. My husband and I don't hesitate to recommend this location for those who like it quiet and don't need fanfare. Thank you Scootertrash for a great first date!
Level concrete slab, electric, water and sewer. Wi-Fi too! The view was spectacular and I couldn't have slept any better....quiet, serene atmosphere. I didn't want to leave. The host started a fire for me and conversation was pleasant. I learned from him more camping pointers. If you ever are in his area you've got to stop by.
Your first instinct might be to feel put off by the nightly fee for hookups. Let me tell you that the host is a great guy and he has the absolute best setup you will every see. Even better than the so-called luxury campgrounds.
1. There is a very large concrete pad that's extra long and extra wide. Your blind grandmother could back a 40' trailer onto this thing with no problem.
2. The pad is dead-flat. No levelers needed.
3. There are electrical hookups for 20A, 30A, AND 50A. Each is on its own circuit. Simply pick the one most appropriate for your rig, plug in, switch on the breaker and you're in business with no adapters needed.
4. The dump station is literally adjacent to the pad. No need to even move.
5. Very strong wifi.
6. His land is surrounded by protected farm and forest land so you get nothing but great views.
Is there a down side? Yes, he's on a mountain top. I was able to drive my 32' class A up there with no problem so don't let that scare you. This place is the best!
Had a great time with Mr. Scootertrash...excellent set up for our needs in a beautiful area. Like-minded RVer who was fun and informed. Helped us with ideas for investigating the area...make sure you visit the Creamery Coop!
Would not hesitate to stay again and recommend to others.
I’m already missing the quiet and beauty of this place. The host is absolutely wonderful and generous. He suggested a terrific bike route and let me pick my favorite spot for the week on the property. Amazing. I’m already planning my route to return here for an extended stay.
Host was very accommodating and communicated directions and information. The full hook up site was great and the view very pretty.
I look forward to returning next year and staying longer than a night and exploring the beautiful area.
We loved our stay! Full hookups were great and the scenery is amazing. Awesome host!
Nice level site with FHU and beautiful view. Host was very accommodating and great communication. Can’t wait to come back to area to explore when I have more than an overnight stay.
We stayed here for two night as we worked our way south, chasing the autumn colors. The host has a very nice (and new) setup which includes a wide and long (50’ ish) level concrete pad which was perfect for our 45’ MH.
He also has full hookups available in which he asks for a nominal fee.
His property overlooks a large clearing which is surrounded by trees. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
Very scenic and quiet! Thank you for a great night's rest!
We had a very pleasant stay with great hospitality by our host. We enjoyed a great bon fire in the serene setting. We give a thumbs up.
He was a great host and the site he had for our 35 foot motor home was out in the open where we could take advantage of our solar arrays.
We were only here for a quick overnight but were very happy to have found it. The host was so welcoming and made sure we were set up. We have a pretty big rig, 38’ plus a toad, and we were able to get in without any issue. The space was level concrete and was set up for a nice fire and room for the kiddos to run about. It was a beautiful, quiet, dark night, a perfect nights sleep. I’d recommend this spot for sure!
Such a beautiful field and location in lush Western MA. Scootertrash was very Accommodating and helpful! We met some great adventurers during our stay too - plenty of room for everyone. The full hook ups were a real treat. Lots of amazing hiking spots, and photo locations in the area, we wish our drone wasn’t having a firmware issue- but We would love to come back sometime, maybe when the leaves get more color! Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with us! :)
I had planned to stay one night but because of the area and this beautiful boondockers space I decided to stay extra days totally amazing. He is a very generous person. he always had great advice on things to see in Massachusetts in the area and every single one that I had gone to was unforgettable. Also enjoyed the nights by the fire with everyone. Highly recommend this place.
Host is very helpful and the location is close to many activities.
Quaint area, very helpful host and comfortable stay.
We were given multiple options for our setup. Choices while Boondocking! A pleasant surprise and a wonderful weekend.
This spot is really out there, and it's worth the drive. It's a wide open spot beside a huge grassy field, and we had a sky full of wispy clouds to enjoy. Our host is a terrific and interesting guy,and we enjoyed our visit with him. We'll be visiting again.
Our host was great, fast to respond and great with accommodations. We loved our stay and will be back!!!
After a cross country trip that included a day lost to mechanical issues, we found our way to this beautiful host site. Our host was welcoming and easy going. We set up with full hookups! Sitting out by the fire pit to enjoy the afternoon turning to evening was just what we needed. Very quiet and pretty surroundings. Our dog loved the open area and the opportunity to be off leash. We went to the local market for a few provisions, fresh and organic. This Boondocker host makes you feel right at home. We highly recommend this site and would certainly enjoy visiting again.
The family needed a nearby getaway to do some sprucing up and get the cobwebs out. Thankfully, this site was available for us. Our host was kind and accommodating, even when we were behind schedule with a tire issue. Once parked we were able to take in the large peaceful field next to us. The kids were able to stretch their legs and run and the wife and I could find some much needed relaxation. One of the best parts was the night sky above us. Being miles from any big town, everything above was bright and beautiful. A small fire in the pit warmed our legs while we watched the shooting stars streak across the sky.
The pad and hookups were better than many professional operations frankly. We could have easily stayed longer and would have been grateful to do so. We would stay again without hesitation.
Great boondock with great amenities. Parking pad was available and it was level so no need to self level. Open filed for the grandchildren to play. Host was very hospitable and was able to help with some rig issues
Host had great conversation and was very helpful. Huge Area for the kids and dog to run around. Would love you stay again!
Our host was VERY accommodating. We were traveling with friends who had their own RV and he had plenty of space for both of us, including electrical hookups for both units. His site is located on a quiet street and he had a large field where my dogs were free to roam. A concrete pad that we used for our outdoor dining room with a nearby fire pit was just what we needed after a day of sight seeing. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway.
We found our host to be friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We will definitely return next time we plan a getaway to MA.
