The large field has some gravel on the north end and is fairly level.
Easy pull through and turn around provided its not too wet. Second location is south of my house. Four churches (Baptist, Methodist, Penticostal and Catholic) are within three miles. Alta Vista, the original name the five Italian families gave this area over a century ago, is now called Little Italy. We are located 20 minutes from Little Rock, 45 minutes to downtown and the President Clinton Museum. 20 minutes to Pinnacle MT State Park. A half hour from the college town of Conway, one hour from Petit Jean State Park, seventy-five minutes to Hot Springs National Park and Oaklawn Race Track and Gaming (January to May racing season). We are about about 45 minutes from I-40 either from Little Rock( I-430 South across Arkansas River to Exit 9 Cantrell Rd. West or Morrilton (EXIT 108 a quick hook up with I-40 West w/o going back to Little Rock).
Smoking in RV only not on property.
No running generators after 9
Put trash in solid green container.
This is atop a mountain and there are a couple of right angle curves but nothing an 18 wheeler can't handle. If in doubt come up Hwy 113 instead of Hwy 300, about the same distance.
I have a 30 amp with water hook up for 1st booked, by pole with orange jersey.
2nd booked will have a 15 amp available (need at least 100 ft extension). Water available for fill up only. Must communicate to see where this location is.
You have the option of staying connected or parking near your rig
Within walking distance is the Little Italy Heritage Museum and the St. Francis Italian Festival on the first Sunday in October. 3 miles down the road is the Wye Mt. Daffodils Festival in early March. Local winery, Enchanted Evening, is just three miles away.
Nature lovers are welcome to hike the trails on our 80 wooded acres with streams and wildlife. Disc golf is available to play.
You wont want to miss this stop if you are visiting the Hot Springs or just traveling through Arkansas. Alta Vista is an awesome spot atop a beautiful mountain with trails going down towards a river, lots of land to stretch out and even a disk golf course! Our host was very helpful and just an all around wonderful guy! He even joined us for a round of disc golf. If you like hiking, the west summit trail up pinnacle mountain is a must! Beautiful views and right down the road from the campsite. We would stay again in a heartbeat when coming back through. Many thanks LittleItaly!!
A delightful visit with a generous host and master story teller. A little too chilly for campfire chats but we believe there will be a next time.
We had a great good fortune of going up some incredible winding roads on an Arkansas mountain to the top where we parked on a really nice lot with electricity and water and with a great host who met us and helped us park. We had fun talking about our travels and getting settled. Bob was a great host, very concerned with our welfare and considerate!! Bob is the kind of guy you would really like to visit with. If it hadn’t been freezing cold, we would have sat outside and “chewed the fat”!! We hope to go back.
The host goes beyond making us comfortable and feeling like we’re at home on his beautiful scenic property. This is our 2nd time staying here, and will continue as long as he will have us.. Bob & Sue
We had a wonderful stay at Alta Vista. The host was so kind to us and my children. We enjoyed conversation with him tremendously. His place is a little slice of heaven on top of a mountain. So beautiful, very quiet, and off the beaten path. Make sure to follow his directions when coming in- there are a couple different ways. We have a 45ft 5th wheel, and while coming in one of the routes is doable, we probably would not go that way again. There were some tight hairpin turns, and the road was pretty narrow and steep. The other route was much much easier. Just ask the host and he will direct you on the best way. Getting onto the property and parking was very easy, even with our large rig. We were able to back up to the host's power pole and plug into 30amp. The host met us at the road and helped us get parked. We only stayed a night, and were sad we did not have more time to explore. We will definitely be stopping back here our next time through Arkansas! Thank you thank you, sir! God bless!
We enjoyed our stay in Little Italy. The only downside was that our rig had an issue and we spent time trying to find a part rather than enjoying the gracious hospitality of our host. We hope to be able to return some day and spend more time getting to know him on his beautiful property.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of room for our 40 ft rig plus hookups. The location is very quiet and peaceful. Our host was such a kind and cheerful man. We were delighted that we got to meet him and enjoy his company. We highly recommend this host! We look forward to visiting him in the future.
Lovely place on top of a mountain. Our host had already left for church when we arrived but came back and asked if we needed anything and introduced himself. Wished we could have visited more, he was very pleasant and courteous. Beautiful area, listen to littleitaly when he gives directions. If in this area again, we would stay again.
Intelligent, thoughtful and kind-hearted; well worth spending *more* than just an overnight to spend time with Don Roberto & Iggy & learn a bit about Little Italy, Arkansas!
Everything about this quick overnight stay was so good. The site was level and quiet and had a nice view and electricity. What more could you want? And.....the host was super nice, good conversation, and took me on a much needed walk on his property before I left the next morning. If passing through this area in the future, I would definitely try to stay again. Thank you LittleItaly!
My host has been amazing, and generous. We got to spent some times talking and getting to know each other. His place is remote enough that I don’t have to be in the city with my daughter and we walked down the walking trails behind their house and came to a little creek it was relaxing and great spending time with my daughter away from this crazy world. I was able to fill up my water tanks and charge my car battery, clean up and organized my camper before hitting the road again. It’s a little piece of paradise here and grateful that I’ve been able to stay here for two nights. I’m hoping to come back to visit again in the future and thank you for having us, I really enjoyed chatting with you.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place, too bad the weather kept us inside most of the time. LittleItaly was so gracious and welcoming, and we loved the scenic drive in and the quiet of the country. Can't beat water and electric hook up, this place really is a RVers boondocking paradise. Thank you so much for the stay.
We totally enjoyed our stay at LittleItaly, what a great host. Despite the rainy weather, we were able to take a long walk among his 80 acres of woodland and trails. Would highly recommend for anyone in the area!
Super welcoming host! This was our first stay with BW and Little Italy set a very high bar for hospitality. He covered the fire pit to keep out the rain and provided firewood, disc golf, and 80 acres of places to explore. The kids loved interacting with him, playing on the church playground, and petting the cat. It was a quiet place with occasional country road traffic and super close to big city conveniences. We will stay here again!
Our stay at Altavista was wonderful. Bob is a very nice, thoughtful and generous host. He helped us feel at home from the minute we arrived. He has a very warm heart and you feel the positivity all around. Our kids loved him too, he was like their grandfather and they were connected in no time.
The place is big and beautiful. We played disc golf together, had a bonfire and S’mores provided by Bob. We all left with some gifts in our hands and leaving a piece of our hearts there.
We were so blessed by our stay at Alta Vista! Our host was very welcoming and helpful and came out to chat a few times. The spot was level and easy to access. The property is beautiful, and our son loved having room to play and explore! Thank you for allowing us to stay — hope to visit again someday!
Perfect overnight for our trip. Lots of room. Water and electric. Level. And the best part is a friendly and helpful host. Strongly recommend Alta Vista.
Bob and his neighbors Flip a Marie were awesome.. enjoyed talking with them..if you are in the area I would highly recommend stay! Beautiful scenery in a small little town called little Italy
Made friends with our person host and our cat host. What a beautiful drive to find them. We will. DEFINITELY come by again.
We had a wonderful time here for two days. The host is personable, friendly and fun to be around. He has a lot to share. We had 30 amp electric and city water connections. Lots of wide open spaces to walk and enjoy. If you get a chance to stay here you have done yourself a favor.
Our host was so kind and generous! We called when we were 15 minutes away and it turned out he was just a short ways behind us, so he pulled in front and led us to his property. We enjoyed chatting about our travel experiences and greatly appreciated the free water/electric hookup (we stayed hooked up to the electric, and refilled our fresh water tank just before we left). We use ATT and had good service here too. Highly recommend!
This was our second stay at Alta Vista. We had another peaceful night enroute home. Our host was just as helpful and gracious as last time. We look forward to staying here again and hope to be able to spend some time exploring the area.
The host was wonderful and generous!
He met us at his driveway to show us where to park.
Lots of room for my kids to run around, we walked down to the little creek.
Beautiful level spot.
Can't wait to visit again!
This was our first boondockers booking ever and the bar has been set high! The property is peaceful and beautiful! Host is a gracious host and allowed us to use his hookups! We enjoyed sharing stories with him! We tried to give him a tip but he wouldn’t take it! His heart is in sharing! What a sweet man! God bless you!
Host was awesome. He was waiting for us upon arrival, we had a great socially distanced chat and enjoyed the location greatly. Wish we would’ve had time for some frisbee golf. Hope to be back again soon!
Our second time using the Service and again we were thrilled how helpful and kind this Host was.
We got to visit a bit in the evening and to my surprise his son speaks fluent German, what a treat for me.
Has been to my Home country many times so there was much to discuss.
We highly recommend you visit here, you will enjoy your stay and we will stop in again on our way to the E. Coast.
Thank you and stay safe
Host is very friendly lots of room to park more than adequate Water and Electric.
Had a great time in conversation, while social distancing, with Host.
We also had an unexpected round of disc golf his private course!
Be careful on that trip to the top of the mountain!
We had a great time at this site, and Bob was simply amazing. We had the best time visiting with him, sitting in the lawn chairs under the awning and just chatting away. Oh, the 30 amp hook up and water supply were great, too.
Very nice one night stay @IittleItaly on way to visit an old friend near New Orleans.Host was great & we had a lot in common;we even grow the same Juliet grape tomato .
Nice rural setting & will stay there ago if in area & in need of a quiet place to rest.
We had a nice, level, shaded parking spot and great conversation with LittleItaly. We found that we have a mutual friend. We would definitely stay again!
Not only was it a beautiful setting but we learned a lot of the history of the area. Would recommend this for anyone traveling thru the area.
The welcome we received from this owner was sincere and genuine. He was immediately there to help us get familiar with his arrangement. The place is rather close to the road but that fact did not bother our sleep at all. BTW he provided us with directions for a shorter country drive from his house to our destined Hwy40w.
Bob is a most gracious host and shares a great piece of his property for a most enjoyable stay. He was always very responsive to inquiries, met us at the entrance to his property and helped guide us to a nice spot with electrical hook-up and water. The site also has a nice wood picnic table and stone fire ring with firewood provided. This is a very quiet location with very little traffic. The highway in and out has some steep and twisty grades but should be manageable by downshifting or using exhaust brakes.
We just stayed for the night while passing thru but there are many local state parks and other locations in the area to take advantage of if you have the time.
We highly recommend this location. Thanks again, Bob, for sharing your neat location and for the warm conversation.
Bob is an amazing guy who was kind and full of joy. His property is amazing and he gave us plenty of space to do our thing. My 7 year old daughter was so impressed that she told me “I want land like Bob.” I would highly recommend you stop by on your next trip through Arkansas.
My host help direct me in after my wrong turn (normal) and gave a level spot with everything I needed. It is a beautiful property on top of the mountain. We visited wth long conversation and over coffee the next morning. It was great and look forward to the next and his visit to mine.
LittleItaly couldn't have been more kind and welcoming to his patch of paradise, Alta Vista. We enjoyed pleasant conversation with our wonderful host and a quiet, restful night. We just wish we would have stayed more than one night. We definitely plan on coming back the next time we roll through Little Rock! Thank you LittleItaly!!!
We had a wonderful short stay at LIttleItaly's spot just outside of Little Rock, our kids enjoyed his friendly cat and biking around his yard, he had a great spot setup with 30amp and water! Would stay again.
we had the pleasure of staying at Alta Vista last evening. The host was amazing and treated us like we were special. Sort of felt like family by the time we left earlier today. The location is beautiful and well kept with water and electric convenient to where you need to park. Host was gracious enough to provide us a very detailed handwritten map for our return back to the interstate. I would certainly recommend this boondockers welcome host site. Will be looking forward to visiting again when we're back through this area.
Well what a great stay with this kind man. DUKE loved the property and open space to play. We were welcomed and even invited to stay as long as we wanted due to the quarantine. He was very understanding and kind. Thank you so much sir. DUKE and I will see you again next year. Stay safe sir.
Host was very nice and helpful. His place is beautiful, he was very accommodating. We’re glad we got there before dark, so we were able to take a walk. It’s a beautiful place and we would love to stay there longer next time. He’s very nice and welcoming. There’s enough room for 2 rigs to stay there comfortably with electricity. We were able to turn around on his lot, and it was flat enough that we didn’t have to detach the trailer for the night.
We just spent two awesome nights at this amazing site. Our host LittleItaly is a kind and generous soul, we became immediate friends. Site is peaceful and beautiful with lots of room for dogs to run! Hope to visit with LittleItaly again! We wanted to visit the many parks close by but Mother Nature had different plans😂 So we need to go back to climb Pinnacle Mountain!
Was going to stay at another location in Little Rock, but they canceled at the last minute. Was glad they did had a wonderful with time with LittleItaly. Would highly recommend to stay with him. He made us feel so welcomed with his welcoming packet of information of the area and just had a great time learning about the area from him and talking to him, hope to stay with him again
