Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe live in a rural area in south Louisiana. We are on several acres with a couple of horse pastures. Your pets will be happy to run here.
Please plan to arrive before dark.
Driveway is a little narrow. You will need to either back off the road or pull in, then back out upon leaving. The drive to parking area is about 100’.
Tow vehicles can park next to the rig.
We're just twenty miles from the Tabasco factory in Avery Island and near the Atchafalya Basin with beautiful swamps and wildlife. Swamp tours available nearby. The Cajun culture has lots of good food and music to enjoy. In the spring and fall there are many festivals every weekend.
This is a beautiful spot with lots of space for dogs and kiddos, and the family is very friendly and welcoming. My kids had a great time visiting their animals and playing with the other kids. We really enjoyed our stay very much.
Very inviting and helpful couple. Can't beat the southern hospitality and the sincere friendliness. Great insight on the area, history and culinary distinctions. While we didn't have time to explore the area since we were just passing through, we will plan to spend more time on our next trip through this area.
Wonderful giving people and beautiful relaxing area! Loved their back deck and screened in family room with kitchen & bar! Explored the area...small local towns, Lafayette Vermillion Village, Acadian Culture park..Rich interesting Cajun history and Boudin meatballs. We look forward to going back!
We loved our 1st Boondocking experience with the Boudreaux’s! They are such a nice couple. We enjoyed visiting by the fireplace in their outdoor kitchen & sharing travel stories. We had a nice, quiet night & woke up to beautiful views of pastures & sugar cane fields. Enjoyed seeing some of rural Louisiana & would love to stay here again.
The Boudreauxs were very welcoming and even invited us to an authentic cajun dinner (twice!) in the company of their lovely family. Our son also made friends with their grand daughter and had lots of fun playing together. We ate at the local breakfast spot twice because it was that good, and nice to see the small town atmosphere. Just all around a great spot to boondock. Thanks Boudreauxs!
Wow! What a treat to stay at their home. A true Cajun experience. The Boudreauxs were the nicest couple. We got to hang out around their fire place and get to know each other. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I would love to go back again in the future. 💙
The Boudreaux Family welcomed us in and showed us true Southern Hospitality! Our stay was scheduled for a Sunday, so they called to ask if we'd like to join their whole family for Sunday Supper, BYOB. IT WAS A BLAST. Their kids and grandkids embraced us with open arms, fed us and even sent us home with leftovers! What an absolute treat...again reminding us that BW is one of the best ways to travel. Thank you SO MUCH!
This was an awesome stay! We had only planned to stay one night but the cell service was great and we had online stuff we needed to do so they let us stay two nights. The water and electric was wonderful. The hosts were welcoming upon arrival. We didn’t talk to them much throughout the stay because the weather was poor and we were both busy, but it was a quiet area. Close to town too! It was a short trip to target and hobby lobby. Pulling in and out was easy. Didn’t require any backing up. I will note that make sure you do a wide turn when pulling in! There are small ditches on both sides. It was rainy the whole time but the ground where we parked was solid! If we are ever back out this way we will definitely stop here again!
I wasn't even expecting to have electric and they had the hookup! What incredibly lovely people. I hung out with this couple around their wood stove and had such an amazing chat with them. Hope to see them again soon.
They met us at arrival and gave us a wonderful welcome folder with lots of great local information.
Nice hosts on a nice property out in the country. If taking the back roads be aware that there’s a bridge with a 10,000 pound weight limit.
We could write a hundred pages about the Boudreaux experience. Rather than list the ways they went out of their way to make us feel welcome, suffice to say that you just don't want to miss this ultra-gem in Loreauville, LA.
Not staying on a Sunday night like previous guests, we missed dining with the whole Boudreaux clan. But, K&K still served us prize winning (it's documented) cajun cuisine on their incomparable outdoor porch.
Lest you think this summer kitchen is like one you've seen before: it includes but is not limited to an 8 burner restaurant stove. Ken even has a back-up, self-fabricated unit to add capacity.
Still, next time we want to meet the family.
Our tour through the bayous was other-worldly. Giant 300 year old cypress trees reminded us of a scene from Avatar. Too bad we can't post photos in our review.
This is a place we can't wait to visit again. And we look forward to seeing these incredible people when they travel to the great frozen North.
The Boudreauxs are a lovely couple. We were welcomed and made to feel at home. Their place is in the mist of sugar cane country and very pastoral and quiet. Thanks for hosting us!
The hosts welcomed us upon our arrival, very friendly! The location is simply beautiful and peaceful.
We received a warm welcome upon arrival. Very friendly hosts who even invited us to join their extended family for their weekly Sunday supper. We loved meeting them all. Wonderful home and our host is an amazing cook and carpenter! Would definitely recommend.
We were greeted by them with big smiles and bags of tourist info for the local area. We really enjoyed our stay.
TheBoudreauxs was a perfect stopover during my journey along the Louisiana coast. The host was very friendly and accommodating and the camp spot was the quietest BW site I've stayed at thus far. My cat enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders.
TheBoudreauxs have an amazing location in rural Louisiana with a lot going for it…horses, cats, and a dog located on an small farm acreage with amazing sunrises and sunsets. I have hosted for Boondockers Welcome for well over a year, but this was my first opportunity to travel as a guest for 2 nights in late January 2020. And they offered to let me stay in order to camp with some Canadian friends who were staying with them. Very kind and generous! Love their rustic outdoorsy kitchen with a wood stove and the invitation to use it anytime we wanted to get in out of the rain (which was in abundance on this trip). Thanks! Come see us in Pensacola sometime!
If you are looking for a beautiful Cajun country retreat this is the place for you. Our hosts went out of our their way to make us feel welcome and were generous about sharing information and local history. We were privileged to be included their their Sunday family dinner and got to sample real Cajun gumbo! We found lots of cool stuff in the area and went on a swamp, boat tour nearby. Parking was easy and water and electricity were available.
One of our top sites so far!
Wow
On our arrival We received a document
Prepared by Karen with all the information
We need for our visit
we had à great
Evening with the Boudreauxs
Our favorite host ....😊
We met the hosts upon arrival at their beautiful property. They offered water and electric at the site. They are family oriented and we had wonderful evening with them. The site is level and easy to park at. We reccomend staying here.
I'm not sure if we should be spilling the beans, but man, what fun.
We were treated to a Sunday night family gathering, (4 generations with 14 people) and with real down home Cajun cooking. A real snapshot I'm sure of a rural small town country family on a small acreage in Louisiana.
We want to thank the Boudreauxs for inviting us into their country kitchen and to their family event, and for introducing us to their beautiful family, and sharing their food, friendship, and stories.
We will definitely be back, should we be traveling this way again.
K&K are fantastic hosts! Our spot on thier property was an easy in, easy out pull through. They were incredibly welcoming and we really enjoyed not only thier company, but also hanging out with the whole family, including their pup Cajun! They introduced us to authentic Cajun cuisine and we got to sample the local Gumbo which was excellent! It was a stay to remember for sure! I loved that they had a book for their guests where we could leave them a little message before we went on our way. Bonus: There's a Planet Fitness 11 miles away (which comes in handy for boondocking showers) 😁
TheBoudreauxs' are great folks! They met us when we arrived and helped us get situated. We had great conversation getting to know them a little bit and even met their dog Cajun and their horse too. Hookups were great and the scenery was beautiful. Would love to stay there again if we are in the area. Definitely recommend this site!
We stayed one night and wish that we would have been able to stay longer. We loved meeting the hosts and enjoying a drink and conversation with them by the fire. The kids loved their pup and visiting with the horse and seeing the cats!
We also enjoyed a tour at the (nearby) Tabasco Factory!
Thanks so much!
Karen & Ken are both very friendly and helpful, they are very knowledgeable about Iberia and surrounding area and willingly share this knowledge. We were invited to join them and members of their family on the first evening around the fireplace, had great interaction and conversation. Karen provided us with a very informative brochure for the area, also details about the Tabasco Factory tour which is a must do tour. The boondocking is great, it is a very quiet space, has a 30 amp electric service and a water connection, they also have a sani dump. Great family. Hope tpo return again some day.
We were welcomed like family by our wonderful hosts. It was great to meet many of their family members too. We really enjoyed our stay and what a fabulous location. Highly recommend staying here.
Lovely and welcoming home! The B’s are generous sharing their place with campers, even offering water and electricity.
Birds everywhere as well as a very friendly horse that Sunny dog was intrigued with. Cajun the dog was also friendly with us but Sunny was a bit of a snob and wouldn’t play with him.
Before we left Mr B gifted me fresh grapefruit right off their tree.
We didn’t get to say a proper goodby to Mrs B but we wanted to thank her as well for her hospitality.
Hoping you are able to do some RV travel soon and enjoy meeting other wonderful BW hosts like you.
Happy New Year!
Eve, Hilton and Sunny doggie
Got in late on Christmas but they were very understanding and helped us settle in for the night, woke up to a beautiful property and dogs were able to run around a large yard instead of cramp CampGrounds.
We recently stayed with the boudreauxs and we have had a fantastic experience.
After settling in on their lovely property we were invited to meet the grandparents in their outside kitchen and were treated to gumbo, cracklings and boudin, all typical treats from Louisiana. We had great food and conversations and hope they will accept us as guests again when we come back
When we arrived we were met by the Boudreauxs. We talked for a while by the rig and they invited us to have dinner with them and their family. Get this, their parents, kids and grand kids. All this in an amazing room that they built in the back of their house. It was a great time having a little wine, gumbo and great conversations. It was an amazing time with some really wonderful people. I hope to stay in contact with K and K and would love to stay again. A+++
I really enjoyed my stay at TheBoundreauxs. The hosts were very nice. I got to learn a lot about the history of the Cayuns from the hosts parents, which I enjoyed talking to.
