Hi there! We're on ten acres of forested land in a quiet country setting. We can welcome smaller rigs (up to 35 feet) in a spot just off our driveway... it is approximately 12 feet wide, with a cliff on each side (one up, one down). We can supply an extension cord and a hose as needed. There's a Sani dump available at campground 20 minutes away. Our property is rough and under construction at this time as we build sections of our home and shop with the ever expanding gardens! We have two lovely elder dogs. The short blond is Sunny and the tall brunette is Solly. Sunny can be anxious and will likely charge at you barking but she absolutely will not bite. Solly is a big playful goof. They both spend most of their time sleeping now. We also have a lovely all black cat named Cyrus Beene. Your pets are welcome but any that go outside your rig must be leashed. We are a family of highly sensitive people so we require that there be No use of generators or any chemicals like bug spray or mosquito coils. We're sorry to say there's road construction on Highway 14 that complicates getting here currently. Just pay attention and follow the signs to Gillespie road. Suggested Local Attractions: 10 mins to East Sooke Park, 20 Minutes to Sooke, 25 Minutes to Langford, lots of parks, beaches and trails nearby , 2 Minutes to corner store (8-8pm) and great Burger food truck (11am-7pm), 10 minutes to Marina

Quiet Socially Aware Nature Lovers Details: We are people with adult kids and pets, now getting to travel together in our rig. We enjoy life, music, cooking, dance, nature, and meeting new friends. We have been islanders, homesteaders, organic farmers. teachers, and people who support people with disabilities. We live an environmentally conscious life, believing in leaving a small footprint. We like to help out, weed the organic gardens, or maybe help mend a fence when friends need a hand. We are private and self contained, but enjoy visiting too, when it's mutually convenient. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Not yet! We're looking forward to new places and new faces... deserts, rainforests, canyons, lakes, badlands and good company! :) Skills or Expertise to Share: Terry is a multi-skilled carpenter/builder, having experience in all the construction sub-trades, plumbing, electrical, and a little mechanics too. Professionally now Terry is specializing in green building and tiny homes/ homes on wheels. Personally he spends a lot of time volunteering in work to improve Canada's Health Care system. Journey worked in restaurants for 30 years on and off while earning a Bachelor of Education and supporting people with disabilities. She is an End of Life Doula, talented cook, teacher, gardener, artist, canner, quilt maker, singer and is learning to sew. With our organic farming and homesteading background we have lots of skills to share. We both love dancing West Coast Swing!! Together, we have a wide body of knowledge about organic farming and living, environmentally safer products, materials and methods; we have previously presented educational seminars on these types of topics and love to share our knowledge.

What a beautiful part of the planet! A great, quiet spot among the cedars. Welcoming hosts and kind people. Highly recommend.

It had been raining the day I arrived, which contributed to my slide into the ditch. I boondocked quietly for my stay, but I notice water and power was there for newer arrivals. Perhaps I was just too shy to make further contact or ask for anything more after my demanding arrival. I'm glad to hear the positive input from later arrivals, as The hosts are really in the middle of a major undertaking, and making space for boondockers must have been quite an undertaking.

I arrived with a bang, having dropped the rear passenger corner of the trailer into the ditch as I turned. That pretty rock on the right generated a quick stop! The host came swiftly from his construction site and jacked up the trailer. It then came out without too much trouble. But I'm sure it was a break he didn't need. Access is rather narrow, and you must swing wide on entry. My 25 ft trailer is really too wide for the parking as it exists, particularly as it left my steps rather close to the downhill. The site is very beautiful and well shaded under the trees.
