We are located 15 miles from Hutchinson, 3 miles from Cheney Lake State Park, 40 miles from Wichita. Our RV sites are accessed by gravel paths and are near our ponds and pasture. RV dump is accessed by backing. Storm shelter is available at hosts house. We offer privacy, peace and quiet in the country, and farm pond fishing. Also have a nice disc golf course set up by the kids in the family. And a zip line across the water if you're one of those people, or swings in the shade if you're not.
We are RVers ourselves, so appreciate the availability of safe overnight parking, but also know the value of comfort and amenities. So we are willing to accept contributions for our efforts to accommodate your needs. We reserve the right to limit campfires during periods of high fire danger, and to limit your access during periods of high water. Common sense and common courtesy, tho less and less common these days, are always appreciated!
We are located just off a major State Highway, access to a spot to park is only limited during extreme wet weather.
BE SURE TO SWING WIDE ENOUGH WHEN COMING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, I got my own fiver in trouble the first time I tried it.
Plenty of room for parking next to the rig.
We do some traveling ourselves, but feel free to give us a call and see if we can accommodate you.
Yoder - Amish community and restaurant. Stratica - underground storage and museum in former salt mine. Cosmosphere - space museum and theater. Bike trails at local lake. Botanica in Wichita, 40 miles away. Tanganica Wildlife Park in Goddard, 30 miles away.
The road can throw some sticks in your spokes. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating and had a gorgeous property with plenty of privacy. I only wish we’d have had some more time to enjoy all the property has to offer but our schedule didn’t allow for it. Hope to be back again next time we swing through the Great Plains. Thank you two for everything- now go find some mushrooms!
This was our very 1st BDW experience and it couldn't have been better. The hosts were absolutely wonderful, welcoming and helpful. They have a gorgeous spot in central Kansas with a couple of ponds, a disc golf course, tree swings and even a zip line over one of the ponds. We took many walks around the ponds and grounds late in the evening to watch spectacular sunsets. This location is convenient to Wichita and other small towns - Hutchinson (AKA Hutch), Yoder and Cheney.
Places to visit: Carriage Crossing Restaurant and Bakery (get your pie 1st!!), Strataca, Cosmosphere and Cheney Reservoir.
This is definitely a must return to spot. What a fantastic visit, thanks for everything.
Had the pond and lush green area all to myself. So much better than crammed into a commercial campground
Rckrehbiel was a great host. They let us stay for 4 days and provided good recommendations for local establishments. The property is a Midwest dream and was relaxing to walk around. I imagine their kids had a wonderful childhood, given the frisbee golf, fishing, slide, swings, etc...
We spent one night here and could have stayed much longer. Woke in the morning to the song of birds and views of a pond and green fields. Directions were easy to get here and hosts were prompt with their responses. But their kindness is what really made our visit so memorable. We had a problem with our hitch and one of our hosts worked on it with my husband while I sat on a swinging bench chatting with the other host. It’s all about the amazing people you meet. Lovely people ❤️
The hosts were so nice and accommodating. Their farm is a little slice of heaven! Ponds, picnic tables, play areas for kids, lots of room for dogs to roam. Electric and water if needed. So much to offer. Thank you!!
Excellent place for our first boondocking adventure. Hosts were friendly, helpful and pleasant to visit with, could not have been nicer. Wonderful experience like camping in a park.
I can't say enough about this lovely and peaceful little farm. The word that keeps coming to mind is bucolic.
They're are so many sweet surprises around every corner, swings, a gazebo, fire pits loaded with kindling and firewood. The lovely sounds of bullfrogs calling to each other. I even caught a big large mouthed bass!
Our hosts were kind and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.
This location is fantastic. With multiple spots to setup and kind attentive hosts it is someplace I look forward to visiting again.
Absolutely beautiful location with wonderful hosts. We’ve Boondocked lots of places and this will be remembered as a favorite. Our site was beside a pond full of bullfrogs and prairie birds overhead and on the fences. The cows were quietly grazing in the adjacent farm. The fireflies were blinking as I went to bed and all through the night. Thank you for a wonderful visit.
We visited Cosmosphere and the Strateca….highly recommended.
What a great couple! An amazing place to be😊 We were treated to a campfire, mulberry cobbler & ice cream the first evening! We DEFINITELY want to come back! Thank You a ZILLION times❣️😊❣️😊❣️😊❣️
Wonderful hosts, extremely helpful. A very tranquil, relaxing spot. Unique children's slide, two ponds (that have fish in them) beautiful grounds to walk around and explore. Good picnic spots. Will definitely stay here again.
Wonderful Host, Very accommodating.
Beautiful Site, Nice Pond and farm lands. Quite, About 12 mi from Hutchinson, KS.
Must See Strataca UNDER ground Salt mine 650Ft down!

A grade A place to stay. Very friendly hosts. Lots to do in this area. Thank you for letting me stay here.
This was our first boondockers welcome stay and I’m not sure we can ever top this! The property is just gorgeous and the hosts are so kind and generous. A perfect jumping off spot for many local attractions and a great location if you just need a quiet getaway. A little piece of paradise!
Tranquil setting. Friendly hosts. Really enjoyed our time there. Beautiful, scenic property.
A wonderful stay in a wonderful location with wonderful hosts! The property is beautiful and the hosts are friendly, kind, and a joy to talk to!
What a wonderful place and wonderful hosts! We felt right at home and enjoyed stretching our legs after driving all day! I hope I find myself near there again so I could stay another night! Highly recommend!
After 4 days of hard driving, I needed to recharge, myself and the RV!
Pretty Praire was a beautiful peaceful stop, with friendly and gracious hosts, including grandson and cats. I only wish I had more time to visit, especially in warmer weather. The ponds looked like fun. I would definitely try to plan my westerly route to include a stop here next time.
We were parked by the pond with the prairie all around. Very peaceful and private. Our hosts went above and beyond to welcome us. Very much enjoyed visiting with them. Hoping to keep in touch with these new wonderful friends.
I was enjoying my stay at rcKrehbiel. I was planning to stay only 1 night, but stayed 4 nights. Their place is beautiful, and I was blessed staying there.
The hosts was very nice people. I had an issue with my trailer, the host helped me fix it which I am very grateful for.
I definitely would like to come back, if I am passing through.
Great place to stay, from the owner helping us in from the street, to the park like setting. Was able to have electric and water hookup. Lakes to fish and frisbee golf.. plenty of swings to swing. Would definitely come back.
Very welcoming hosts! Have a disc golf course! Several ponds, picnic tables and a great sunset view were part of our stay! Lovely!
While we only stayed for one day, it left a lasting impression.
We hooked up by the pond and it was just beautiful.
Our dogs loved running in the field and my dad and I loved watching the sun set over the pond.
Rckrehbiel and his wife were some of the nicest, most hospitable people we’ve ever met.
If we are ever back in the area, we definitely would love to stop in.
We stopped here for one night on our way through Kansas. It was an amazing spot. Our great hosts made us feel right at home and we enjoyed sharing RV stories with them. They have an 80 acre farm with several spots for RVs. We chose a spot next to one of their ponds under some huge cottonwood trees that must have been over 100 years old. It was very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. We even met their cats and the Shetland pony that roams the pastures. One of our best experiences yet. Thanks for allowing us to share your home!!
What wonderful hosts they are! Went out of their way to make this newbie feel comfortable and helped me learn more about my Travel Trailer too - thanks so much. Had a 50 amp hook up, and I used my plug to make into a 30 amp - right next to where I pulled into, by the barn and under a great shade tree - which is well trimmed to not hit any branches!
Kittens are here right now and adorable. Even my dog loved them.
Easy to pull into and out of - any size set up you have - plenty of room. Just turning into driveway is the most narrow part - otherwise acres of land. I heard they have a zip line and pond, but didn't see or use.
If you're passing thru anywhere near by - make the stop here for a quiet night's sleep and enjoy!
Thanks again Pretty Prairie Song & Dance for making this newbie feel welcomed.
Beautiful place and great hosts. We appreciated being able to have water and electricity hookups and being able to dump at their place before leaving. That’s very convenient. It was easy to come in and out.
Great hosts! Even though we didn’t get to meet them, they were very nice and responsive. Our kids really enjoyed playing with the kittens that live on the farm. We loved taking walks around the farm.
We loved this place. It’s very nice to be connected to water and electricity. We got to dump before we left. We are very thankful for that.
The property was soo pretty with a pond you could jump off the diving board or zip line into the water. The land was peaceful and the view was gorgeous. Our host was very helpful. Would definitely stay again!
Over night stay beautiful prairie and pond view!
Cell tower close with 5 bars of AT&T
Would definitely stay again!
Power was available but we used our solar!
Wonderful experience! Our hosts were so welcoming & friendly. We enjoyed great conversation with them both upon arrival and departure. The land was beautiful. There was a nice walking path back to 2 lakes, a quaint sitting bench and an adorable swinging bench from a large tree. Plenty of room to enjoy the beautiful views of pasture and farm land but private enough to feel nestled. We really enjoyed this experience and will definitely stop here again if we're back in the area.
Enjoyed our overnight stay and host was very pleasant and helpful. Took a walk out back along the pond and the back fields (watch out for droppings!) to stretch out. Very nice place, and enjoyed ourselves.
