No Taj Mahal, but it is a safe, clean, quiet place to park off highway for a short term.
We have a gas station with, dump station, propane and a restaurant/cafe across the street. Another little coffee house next to my property and a fine dining restaurant about 3/4 mile away. Very good food, Le Copine!!!! Oh, yeah a Dollar General across the street. Other than that we are 8 miles from town of Yucca Valley, 13 miles from OHV trails of Johnson Valley (Home of King of the Hammers in February). Not far from Joshua Tree National Park, 40 miles. Mostly cool evenings during the heat of the summer. Winters are pretty mild. Chilly in the evenings. Elevation is almost 3500'. NO OPEN FIRES ALLOWED. Another hefty fine. Conditional pet area.
Treat property as if it were your own. Be respectful of surroundings and other people. Leave it as clean as when you arrived. Quiet hours 10 pm 6 am. AGAIN, NO OPEN FIRES!
It is possible for pull thru, but we have to be present upon arrival and departure. Property is on highway and slopes. Access is a dirt road, about a block away. I've only had one issue, with the very rare snow fall. Got jeep stuck. More driver error than road conditions. It's the desert, not many trees here, except Joshua trees as noted before. A Tamarisk sits off driveway, not in the way of maneuvering. Must call ahead (for gated access)
Joshua trees in this area are endangered and revered. It is imperative trees be respected. Healthy fine by San Bernardino, if destroyed. I have a couple acres for boondocking, no hookups.
All off street parking, open spaces.
Should be home most days. Call to check availability.
Pioneertown, great place to visit. Joshua Tree Park, Off road vehicle trails, Google these to find out more. I can't do them justice.
It was a great spot, very convenient to Joshua Tree National Park. Our host was very accommodating as we needed to move our arrival back a day, and even hung out with us one evening which we very much enjoyed. We would recommend staying here!
Fulltimerwannabe welcomed me even before I arrived by inviting me to join her and a friend to a BBQ. Had a good time getting to know them. Her location is rural desert yet only a few minutes from grocery and hardware stores and of course, Walmart. I enjoyed my three night stay and would like to return.
With all that is happening in 2020 people are still very generous and kind. Great stop for the night and close to all recourses. Wonderful host!!
We asked on the same evening and were so glad she responded very quickly. She helped us out a lot. It’s a calm and relaxing spot easy accessible nearby the street. She was extremely helpful and friendly which we really appreciate. Even her dog seemed to be truly positive.
Unfortunately the host was not home but she allowed me anyway to stay on her property. I was really looking forward to meeting her dog :)
Top of a hill, very quiet and uneventful, just the way I like it. And I've never seen so many wild bunnies running around like there are on the neighbors' property !
Hopefully I get to meet the host (and her dog) the next time.
Didn't meet the hostess, however we enjoyed a very nice stay. Even though the lot is sloping, the parking spot was level. Enjoyed the location, and would stay again, if in the area, and the site is available.
This host was VERY accommodating to myself and my husband! She even let our dogs meet hers and play in the yard. It was super easy to pull into the lot. And of course, this host was super sweet! With good local recommendations. Safe area, private! With a great view of the Joshua trees and surrounding mountains.
She was kind and considerate. The location is a block off a main road, which is nice but a bit of road noise. Didn’t bother me and I very much appreciated her hospitality.
