Less than a mile from a public access point on Lake of the Woods, Minnesota, enjoy a stay in your own private campground. This 2.5 acres of raw land is close to town while being tucked into a quiet country neighborhood. We are just a few miles from the city dump station, so if you have to empty your black tank or refill your fresh water storage, you won't have to go far.
As raw land, there are no amenities: no wifi, electricity, water, or sewage dump. There is a fire pit and a deck to park your rig or set your tent up next to.
While we are planning on extending our driveway, bringing in electricity, and drilling a well, those just haven't happened yet. My husband and I live out of our own RV full-time, and bought the land in the spring of 2019 to eventually homestead on. We live on it March-September.
Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. If running a generator, it must be turned off during these hours.
All trash must be packed out. No littering! This includes pet waste. There is a compost bin for food scraps.
Dangerous animals on property - Being raw land, there is the potential for wild animals. So far we've only seen deer and coyotes We will let you know when you book if we have seen anything recently.
Pets are allowed. Use discretion when letting your dog off leash. Our land is not fenced in.
Currently there is a gravel access point that goes from the road to twenty feet into our land, but the rest of the land is raw and grassy.
Next to the rig is fine.
Right now Minnesota is under a Shelter in Place order through May 4th. As such, we will only be accepting requests from full-timers who have no home base. Thank you for your understanding.
Enjoy fishing on beautiful Lake of the Woods! Come on a guided walk of the twenty five acres of woods that our land connects to. Our mayor owns a classic car museum called The Shed, and we rented one as our getaway car for our wedding in 2015! Doc's Harbor has kayaks and tandem bike rentals, and for the summer only, Bec's drive-in restaurant is open.
