Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostOur 8 acre parcel in rural north Florida is just a part of 160 acres that has been in the family since great grandparents homesteaded in the late 1800's. The area has multiple natural springs where Manatees live year round. The famous Suwannee River is just a few minute drive and the Gulf of Mexico is a pleasant drive. This is not the Florida of white sand beaches and palm trees, but it is full of old Florida nature and southern charm. The area is called the Nature Coast for a reason, as there's plenty of outdoor activities available:: fishing, Kayaking, bird and Manatee watching, and biking.
Cell signal is rather sparse with Verizon, you just have to find the right spot. Not sure about the others because we only use Verizon.
Data service with AT&T works well on our mobile device but our Verizon device is hit or miss.
Rules... we're all adults but there are a few.
Drinking adult beverage is permitted but as long as there's no rowdy behavior.
Would prefer no smoking, but if you do please keep it inside your rig.
Pets are fine. They do need to be leashed and not aggressive towards other dogs or cats. We have a dog and cat and would hate to see anything happen to them. Oh, pick up the poop!
Paved road all the way to our driveway. There are two driveways, south and north sides of our property, use the north driveway. Tree canopy is high and we have no issues with towing our 35' fifth wheel that's 13' 6" high in and out.
TV can park with their RV.

I was very satisfied with my stay and would return again if my situation rendered my being in that neck of the woods again. Van and Linda was so very nice, I give them AAAAAAAA+ Smile.
We had a pleasant stay at this site. We had a no hassle pull directly into their driveway with plenty of room to turn around. The site was so level, we didn’t need to unhitch, which made for a quick departure the next morning. In fact we were disappointed we couldn’t have spent more time with our hosts, but travel plans and social distancing made that too tricky. The water hook ups were clean and clear with plenty of pressure. All in all a great experience.
Thanks V&L for a wonderful stay. If you are looking for a lovely spot to park and good conversation, this is the place.
Thanks for hosting us again and not minding that we came the day before our requested stay date. Also, thanks for meeting us outside as we pulled in after midnight. You are a great host and we appreciate your ability to be there for we travelers during a time when state parks and COE parks are closing due to the virus. We'll stay again with you in the future on our return home to FL.
A very nice quiet place to stay with a very welcoming couple. Easy access, use their instructions as our Garmin 770 claimed ‘recreational vehicle accessibility unknown’ for their street. Marginal Verizon cell service.
Great spot with wonderful hosts. Great time talking with them. Great spot close to several springs to visit. Will definitely stay there again if we’re passing through this way again
Great host! Linda and Van made us feel right at home. Beautiful area with big sky at night. Bright moon and a sky full of bright stars. Love the area and the fellowship with a wonderful couple. Thank you both, until we meet again.
We booked this site last minute when another host who happened to be the sister of this one mentioned it. Our original plan was to stay at a nearby Walmart, but this was worth the drive a few minutes out. Super helpful couple and a very peaceful night!
We had a nice quiet evening and slept well after having the opportunity to see this couple again. It was nice getting to see this couple again and stay at their Old Homestead. We look forward to staying with them again in the future when we travel Westward in a few months.
This was our second stop at The Old Homestead. We felt very welcome at their beautiful property and had a wonderful night sleep
This was our very first boondocking experience. We spoke with our host through Boondockers Welcome and by phone. They sent us great directions, and when we arrived, made us feel very welcome. The Old Homestead property is beautiful. We were welcomed back on our way back home. Thank you for a great night's sleep.
This was our first BW experience, and we had a wonderful time. Nice people, great surroundings. Thanks So much
