We had a wonderful stay at Windy Ridge. The hosts were very welcoming and we really enjoyed meeting them. The space for our RV was great, and we greatly appreciated being able to plug into AC to keep our fridge running.
They were very accommodating with allowing me to extend my stay by 2 days. Thank you again for your amazing hospitality! High recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, and amazing stay
Host was very welcoming and helped me get settled in. Electric and water was available to use. This was the perfect spot for my stay, thanks again!
This was our first stay at a Boondockers Welcome and it was wonderful. The hosts are gracious. They have a beautiful piece of property that sits across from a very large county park that offers walking trails and four lakes. We've been reluctant to use Boondockers Welcome before this, but we will be staying often in the future based on this experience. Thanks 🙂.
Our host was terrific. Before we arrived he sent a text with photos of the power and water locations and where to park. He also made sure we had accurate directions. The site was very quiet and we enjoyed a very restful night.
This couple took the time and really made an effort to make me feel welcome. I was given assistance with placing my trailer and helped in other ways. We three hit it off right away, finding we had common interests (other than camping). Their site has beautiful landscaping and many historical sites are easy to get to from their location. Some people you hate to say goodbye to and this couple are two of those. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
We stayed one night on our way north and west and it was absolutely wonderful. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and the hosts generous and gracious. The horse and a little donkey are a bonus. As others have said there’s a wonderful park cross the road with great walking trails.
We had a great stay at windy ridge. The host was very friendly and helpful. We had plenty of privacy and there was a beautiful park right across the road. It was a nice place for a walk and pet friendly. We would love to stay with this host again. Our golden rated the host and location as A+ also!
We didn't get to meet our hosts but they made sure we got situated in a nice spot with 30A power! They offered water as well, but we didn't need it. The spot was level and easy to get to. We made use of the park conveniently located across the street too. Communication was excellent. We appreciated the detailed directions, with pictures, to get us in the right place! This was a great experience!
Very friendly and helpful host. Beautiful location close to Gettysburg National Park.
Enjoyed conversation and quiet view. Next day drove into Frederick for a tour and it was so nice to have a spot to come back to! Thanks to my great hosts!👍
This was our favorite Boondocking start so far. Super well maintained property. Was a farm complete with a horse and donkey. Great views and yard was nicely landscaped. We hm were warmly welcomed and local knowledge freely shared. We look forward to staying there again some time down the road.
We had a fabulous stay at Windy Ridge! It’s location is quiet and the Hosts super accommodating...
Rainy weather shortened our stay but host was considerate and accommodating. Thank you!
Welcoming hosts in a beautiful area! Close proximity to historic Gettysburg and anything you need in Baltimore. We appreciated the hospitality and great communication.
Very personable and humorous couple. Appreciated the electricity in the unseasonably chilly weather. My German Shepard certainly enjoyed TimCd,s attention and playing although TimCd has a fractured ankle and in hard boot. Their miniature donkey actually leaned down and my Gunnar and donkey kissed each other. Great time. TY
Really enjoyed talking to both hosts and felt safe and comfortable parked on their property.
Lovely location, easy to get to from the highway. Would gladly stay there again if I were in the area.
the hosts were very welcoming, helped us get our car un stuck when we got stuck in the snow. they have a nice property and they have solar! great people.
We only had a short stay, but the property is beautiful and right next to a park which was ideal for our little girl and dog to play at. The hosts were very kind and hospitable, and they gave us our privacy which we always appreciate. This stay was perfect for us.
Our short stay was packed with a busy schedule so we didn't get to spend as much time visiting and enjoying the fantastic little farm as we would have liked. The host and hostess were wonderful, very pleasant and most accomodating. Their property is beautiful and peaceful. We look forward to another stay when we're back in the area and look forward to having more time to visit.
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Windy Ridge. Beautiful area, rolling hills, sweeping pastures and horses. Their property was easy to find, and although our hosts were not there when we arrived, they texted me detailed instructions beforehand with photos of how to park, and where the water and electric hookups were. It was quiet and peaceful and we slept soundly. Unfortunately, it rained for two days so we were not able to enjoy visiting with them on their patio, but it looked lovely and we would love to come back someday and share stories with them. Thanks so very much for your wonderful hospitality!
We parked our 31’ travel trailer on a pad in front of the barn. They had 30 amps and water. The park across the street had a nice asphalt walking trail. Timcd1st were perfect host. Visited with them on their back patio. Would love to stay again when in the area.
What perfect hosts for a first timer! Lovely setup, lovely people, and a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing you special piece of the world with fellow travelers. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area!
Thanks for hosting us! Loved the quiet night. A much needed break after a long day. Stay well!
Words can't say enough for these gracious hosts. They are very kind, helpful, and giving. They had a wonderful outdoor movie night for their family that they invited us to be part of. My motorhome had developed a water leak around the water manifold and he jumped right in making a leak-free repair. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The property is located in a very quiet, safe, beautiful area. God bless you both!
We were privileged to happen upon Windy Ridge for our first stay on Boondockers. Tim and his wife are wonderful hosts, but they also have tens of thousands of miles of experience as guests as well. They value freedom to do whatever you are doing and give space but while still being there if you need anything. We came in later at night, but had a great night's sleep going through rural central Maryland, and glad we got to talk for a bit the next day. Highly recommended stay, and very savvy couple. Truly lovely patch of Earth by the way.
Such a great spot but best of all genuinely nice folks who care about their guests being comfortable. So helpful with setting up and sharing amenities in any way they could.
We did a bit of chatting standing out in the misty weather but hope to visit again and spend time visiting on the patio. Better yet stay there on a movie night!
Thank you again and we will be back!
Timcd1st was such a welcoming and gracious host. He was very helpful in getting me all set up in the parking spot and level. I enjoyed my entire stay thoroughly between their lovely patio and walking at the park across the street at dusk (the trail is not shaded, and it was HOT during the day in the sun!). Back at the house, I loved all the landscaping, seeing such a variety of plants, trees, flowers, etc. There were always butterflies around, and I even caught the birds using the birdbath once. =) They were out of town for much of my visit, but we got the chance for some conversation the first evening. I would love to come by again and get to chat more. =)
Note: There is a siren for the volunteer fire department. No big deal, but it's good to know that it's not a tornado siren, LOL.
Our second stay with these super nice folks! We reached out to them after discovering we were in the path of a hurricane coming up the coast and needed to leave that area. Again our hosts were so nice, they gave us the location of an RV dump station in the area and also some tips on where to go during the next stint of our travels North. Sorry we didn’t get to chat more, the weather didn’t really clear up until the morning we were leaving. Very appreciative for the stay-Thanks so very much.
We were met by our gracious hosts who showed us where to park and hook up to electric and water. We had a good conversation about our travels through Michigan and they gave us some tips on where to go while in the area. One of the nice things about our stay was to sit and watch their horses, also directly across the street is a huge park with walking trails and ponds and we liked that a lot. When I had an issue with my power cord (it was not working on the standard outlet) our host came out and installed a 30 amp outlet for me to try and it worked perfectly after that. Cant believe how cool that was, I was floored by their kindness. Very nice people, hope we have an opportunity to stay again.
It was easy to get there, the host was very friendly, and my dog liked walks in the park across the street.
My hosts were so nice. They met me and got me hooked up to water, elec and wifi. What a beautiful ranch. We didn't get to visit because of the social distance. Got to meet the cutest donkey that my dog fell in love with.
Will definitely stop again and would recommend.
We had such a nice time at this hosts farm. Visited with Zak the mini donkey and his horse buddies, rode bikes in local Park and walked the farm lane for after dinner stroll. Spent very enjoyable time visiting and chatting with our hosts. Left with a lot of new places to travel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
They we incredible host and generous with their knowledge and their time and helped us with our RV, beautiful spot.
