Ranch Crawkiss is located on Highway 92 half way between Hotchkiss and Crawford, Colorado... The entrance to the North Rim of The Black Canyon is just 15 miles south of property... Lots of mountain biking on and around property..
Standard courtesy applies.. Dogs need to be controlled..
Gravel drive is about 400 feet to sites and a little bumpy..
Lots of space for parking
Our host was very welcoming and friendly. Made us feel right at home. The driveway in is a bit bumpy but very manageable. Night sky is awesome. Only concern is you could get stuck for a bit if it rains as the parking area has no gravel and is just dirt. But it rarely rains there so just check out the forecast before you pull in. 5 stars for sure!
We enjoyed our stay with beautiful views and a great friendly host. The location is near so many scenic areas. Thanks so much for everything.
This location was a bit of a surprise and turned out to be a beauty, as well! The spot is very isolated, and feels almost like you are alone in the world (however, in reality ... there is a town about 10 miles away!). The views of the mountains across the way, were beautiful both night and day, and we found the star-gazing to be amazing! Be sure to check out the nearby Black Canyon which runs along the north rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison. It is well worth the drive. The views are simply amazing!
Our stay at RanchCrawkiss was exactly what we needed. Easy, quiet living. Mountains to look at everyday and BLM land to play on. Although we would of liked to stay longer, we had some problems come up with our RV and had to cut our time short. We would definitely stay here again. Our host even gave us veggies from the garden. What a nice treat!
Wonderful views from our site! Not far from Black Canyon which is worth checking out! Ranch Crawkiss are awesome hosts and we hope to stay with them again in the future ❤️❤️❤️
We were just passing through on our way back east. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The property is pretty with the mountains in the background and we found a nice level spot to park our camper. Would have loved to stay longer and explore all the beauty in this area. Maybe another time! Thank you for sharing your property with us!
We had a great two day stay at Ranch Crawdord. Lovely mountain view especially at sunrise. Host was very pleasant welcomed us and wished us safe travel as we left. We visited North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Needles Rock. Both about 15 minutes away. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We so enjoyed our stay here and meeting the host. What a wonderful guy and a wonderful spot to stay with sweeping, quiet and moody views! We will definitely stay here again!!
My host made me feel like part of the family. We gathered to socialize at the end of the day and they even shared eggs from their chickens and homemade goat cheese! Crawford and Hotchkiss are both neat little towns to explore. don't miss Needle Rock and Black Canyon of the Gunnison, North Rim.
We camped two nights on the property and it was perfect for our needs. Met and spoke with the hosts a couple of times, very nice and welcoming. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison, north rim is about 30-45 minutes away and we spent a full day there. This was perhaps the most quiet spot we have ever had! Heard absolutely nothing during the night. Also ask the hosts about Joe Cocker. Parking is down in the flat area by the covered patio, not by the RVs by the house. Check it out if you are in area.
The driveway was a little daunting, but the reward was a level spot for a quiet night. Turn left to the lower area before you get to the house.
One of the best places we have visited on our journey. Great host and perfect spot for a getaway. We had a wonderful time at Ranch Crawkiss.
Thanks for the great stay.
We ended up staying one night at Ranch Crawkiss, instead of two, due to needing better cell phone reception for remote school and work. Text messaging worked fine, however!
The place is great and a perfect location for exploring Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. Our host welcomed us when we arrived and was very friendly and hospitable. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore the biking around his place. He is putting lots of work into this location and it seems like it’s going to be a very cool space!
Randy treated us like royalty! His location is a work in progress and will be a very desirable location with a million dollar view!
The host was very welcoming and accommodating. Looking forward to returning in the future 😃
We had prompt and easy communication with our host who greeted us when we arrived and showed us where to park. We stayed two nights and it got pretty hot during the day but cooled off nicely after sundown. Very convenient to drive over to the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison which was awesome. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.
