Leave a reference for this hostWe live on 100 acres 10km northwest of the Village of Teeswater. There is 30amp to one of our spots, 15amp for the second spot. Your pets are welcome to be off leash - we have plenty of room to roam along with trails through our woodlot. There is a free municipal dump station 20 min south of us in Wingham.
Access to local attractions will vary due to COVID. Though our region has not been severely impacted and will hopefully continue to open up more and more as this summer progresses - please come prepared to protect yourself and others with a mask if you plan to go into public places i.e. shopping & sightseeing.
The oldest creamery in Ontario is in Teeswater with a country store and restaurant (breakfast & lunch). The crossroads at Holyrood are home to our post office/general store! They serve VERY generous helpings of ice cream with record sales of over 2000 tubs of ice cream in a year!!
Lake Huron attractions abound within 1/2hr - 1hr. Kincardine, Port Elgin & Southampton each offer different experiences. The Bruce Nuclear Power station (the world's largest) is currently starting a huge upgrade which will continue to augment the rural and tourist aspects of our region.
During the second and third weekends in the month of August there are two First Nations within 1hr - 1 1/2h that host powwows. One of your hosts has worked in one of these communities.
Common sense and common courtesy :-)
The laneway is 1/4 mile long - you will not see the house from the road. When you arrive at the hill at the end of the lane keep going until you arrive in front of the house at the top of the hill. There are really no issues with access otherwise.
Tow vehicle parking is available next to your rig.
We were excited to book a country get away and could not have chosen a better spot. The hosts were fabulous -every-step-of-the-way! It was our family's first trip in our new trailer and to no surprise, we forgot some items. The hosts quickly lent us whatever we needed & made us feel very comfortable/not inconvenienced in any way. What truly sweet, kind, helpful people! To top it off: the land was stunning, pristine & carefully cared for, with flourishing wild life, manicured walking/biking trails, & more than enough space to wander around freely. What a special place! We left feeling with a sense of wellness, optimism & overall, that we had made new friends! Thank you for hosting our family!
