Location is private and if ground conditions permit, a nice pond is in view. If ground is too soft then will need to park near residence which is off highway and private. Class A will probably need to park 70' off highway.
We are 2-5 miles from a grocery store, auto parts, hospital, library, hardware store, restaurants, and gas stations in small town of Troy.
90 minutes to Ithaca NY, 60 minutes to Corning and Watkins Glenn NY. Ithaca and Watkins Glen have beautiful gorges for hiking and Corning has Corning Glass and Rockwell museums and popular Market St.
Ithaca also has a very nice Asian museum on Cornell campus. Great international restaurants in Ithaca.
No generators after 9p unless parking is available near pond. No barking dogs outdoors. Dogs on leash, open to discussion. 5 night stay max. open to extending. Quiet after 9p until 6a.
House shower available.
If using electric hookup for 3 or more nights, $10-15 donation accepted.
No littering but we can take your trash. We can compost non-meat food scraps.
Our lane is a dirt road and on a hill. Nothing anyone should have problems with except long class A. In which case u can park at base of lane if location suits u and ground isn't soft. Back in parking spot on my property, if across road at neighbors it is pull through.
It all depends on time of year. If no snow and not too wet there are a few places to park and remain hooked up. Could also accommodate a class A although that may be within 70' of highway. That location is not a drive thru and no hook ups. There is a large open lot across from my drive that may be available, it wouldn't be private and there are no hookups. Belongs to neighbor so I need to get permission. It might work in a pinch if you just need a place to sleep for the night.
There are a couple options for parking a class B or C depending on ground condition. Tow vehicle can be parked beside or near rig.
With experience, this info will be updated.
Our lane is somewhat steep so accessibility in winter may be restricted depending on snow conditions. We keep it plowed but not necessarily cindered. 4x4 won't have a problem if plowed.
You will not ever find a better host or a more perfect location to overnight camp. A simply gorgeous spot with views of the surrounding hills and a lovely pond next to your camp spot with deer that come right up to your grassy site. The host even shared veggies from her massive garden. Wonderful experiences await you at this country paradise.
We had a great visit staying 1 nite. Kay_Mark met us at the chair after the uphill approach and we walked the way to a grassy site area looking west over their half acre pond. This was a blue sky day, big sunset, many stars visible, with almost a full moon where you see your shadow at nite! Very relaxing for the end of our Rt 6 trip. Kay_Mark were gracious hosts offering any help we would need. We had good conversations. Their property is beautiful atop a large hill off route 6. Kay toured us around, showed their 150+ blueberry bushes, projects, garden, etc. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their well kept property. The entrance is a bit steep, I would estimate 20-25 degrees, good gravel, maybe 300 yards to the chair. I was in 2 wheel drive with no problems. The ground was firm as it has been dry.
For us, this was a great visit as we were touring Rt 6 from the PA Grand Canyon and east.
Kay_Mark was a wonderful host! She met us as we drove in and showed us where to park. We had a beautiful spot overlooking her pond. We talked for a while and she showed us where to plug in and where to hook up to water. Their property is very private and gorgeous! We were able to sit outside and watch the sun set over the pond! In the morning she even brought us some freshly cut watermelon. I can’t say enough good things about Kay_Mark. I highly recommend staying here if you’re passing through! This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome and we are already hooked!
Kay made us feel very welcome. And the property is quiet, beautiful, and peaceful, a wonderful end to our vacation. Hope to stay here again!
This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay. Kay_Mark set the bar very, very high! Their property is beautiful and we were welcome to position our camper to take advantage of the view across the idyllic pond toward the hills beyond. Our host greeted us and walked us along the freshly cut path to the site, offered the (beyond boondocking) amenities they list, and encouraged us to relax and enjoy our stay. We had a peaceful, lovely time, enjoying the natural beauty including a beautiful sunset across the pond our last night.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Off the beaten path just enough to be quiet.
Kay and Mark were so hospitable. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
The property is so beautiful and peaceful.
I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for some peace and quiet.
They are pet lovers as well and were super accommodating to make sure that my dog's got off leash time.
What a nice place to stay. Kay gave me my choice of a few spots and I chose down by the pond. I had the area to myself as it was a little ways from the house. It was so peaceful and the pond was pretty especially at sunset. Lots of area to take walks around the yard or around the pond. Kay was a great host and we had good conversations even if it was from a distance as I stayed during lockdown. I was able to hook up to electric being plugged in at the barn. I was parked in grass and it was a little unlevel but with my level blocks it was nice and level. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend these hosts.
