Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostThis is a half acre lot in a camper neighborhood. The property has 60 feet of waterfront on a small Creek connecting to and only 250 feet away from the Tennessee River.
Although your rig will not have shade cover, there's tons of shade for you under the RV cover and on the water end of the property (giant mature trees). Lots of open space for your dog to exercise, or for your family to play yard games in.
We can accept guests almost any day. We are almost always at the property on Friday evening until Sunday evening, but we won't get in your way. We can still accept guests during the week, but you won't see us.
In a quiet camper neighborhood with families and retirees.
Property has a private boat dock and a deck down on the creek. Both of these are in shade most of the day. Up top is a large RV cover, 80 feet long (our trailer and boat are under cover).
At the back of the cover is about 25 feet with furniture, swing, a gas fire pit, fans, and a dining table. Under cover is in shade all day, and you are welcome to use this area as much as you want, even if we are there.
There's even a hammock overlooking the water.
The neighborhood is generally quiet. We just got new neighbors 2 lots over that has a small dog that barks a lot (sorry, we're working on that). The neighborhood across the creek sometimes does karaoke at night and that can be heard, sometimes up until 11pm or so.
We have a nice smoker grill (gas or charcoal) you are welcome to use as long as you clean it up.
There's a public boat ramp 4 miles away and you can tie your boat to our dock if you'd like.
There is spotty Verizon 4g, and we're told AT&T works pretty good. There's no local over the air TV available.
Please note, the Tennessee River can flood in the winter. The water can get up onto the property. There's always warning because the flooding happens when they open up the dam. After a flood, it's usually 2 weeks before the road and driveway are dry enough to drive on.
No smoking on property.
Drive slowly on road! No dust!
Please remove all garbage you generate.
Please be respectful of neighbors, keep music and etc to a dull roar.
Quiet and friendly dogs welcome. Property is partially fenced but *not completely secure*.
The general unwritten rule of neighborhood is 11pm quiet time.
Please use your own charcoal in our grill. Use our propane for grill and fire pit but please turn it off at tank when finished.
If you use electric, please offer a small amount to cover extra cost. We leave that up to you, but will not accept large amounts. Maybe $5 or $10, or my wife loves a good Moscato.
Use water for free. You may dump septic and grey water once per stay.
Blacktop country roads lead to 1/10 mile well maintained dirt road.
Large gated entry to driveway. Takes some maneuvering but most rigs will be fine. We maneuver a 43' 5th wheel onto the property but
There is a large RV garage that is being used, but driveway is open.
NOTE: Some parts of driveway are not completely level. At worst, approx 6 inches off level from front to back.
Water, septic, 30amp and 20amp power available.
This property is in a flood way. It may flood in December thru March, but it's always predictable with a 2 to 3 day warning. We monitor this constantly, and will notify you if there's any chance of flooding.
Park in driveway or on road
Shiloh National Park, lots of Civil War sites and historical markers, Savannah Tennessee, Tennessee River, Pickwick Lake, tons of great barbeque restaurants. Memphis only about an hour away. But this property is designed for relaxation and getting away from it all.
A flat concrete pad, water and a dump - just what we needed. The fan covered most of the road noise. We never met our host but he was very responsive via phone and email.
This was a perfect place on our trip heading south. They offered complete and full hookup. The site is rigjt on the water and we evwn got a little fishing in.
The host communicated with us perfectly, giving up good directions.
We would recommend this location.
Lovely spot, lots of grass, level parking for our Class B. We did not meet the hosts but they graciously gave us very explicit directions and helpful hints which made the everything very easy and enjoyable.
Wonderful host The Gs were very accommodating and friendly the Boondocking site really could be considered as a Destiination not just stay overnight stay we had a great time and thank them very much
The Gs provided very detailed and great communication. Very good place to stop for the night. Thank you 😊.
Good location and host. We had some minor difficulty for large (34”) rig to get level.
Although we never got to actually meet to G's, they were in constant contact with us, and gave us precise and clear information and direction to make our adventure stress free. Their place sits right on a river and we thoroughly enjoyed our morning coffee and afternoon cocktails sitting out by the river watching boats go by and the sun go down. We had full-hookups with no issues (except, had we not brought our 30 amp extension cord, it may have been an issue getting close enough to the box, but we did bring it, so we had no issue, but I have a small camper, so maybe a larger camper has longer cords, I'm not sure)? But, we enjoyed the patio and the area around where their property is is beautiful. The G's seem to be people that really enjoy life and they have an awesome place to do it. We loved this spot !! Thanks for having us.

Our hosts were very hospitable offering their grill, patio, water, sewer and electric hook ups. They even offered to take us for a boat ride. We were very happy with our stay. We would highly recommend this host to others.
Over Our Heads was a very nice place to stay. The arrival and welcome instructions were very clear. The driveway I had a gentle slope up towards the covered port so some leveling was required. The electrical hook was 50 amp requiring an extension cord and a dog bone, the water spigot could be reached with one hose. The area is right on the Tennessee River with easy access to Savannah Shiloh and the surrounding area. Overall it was very pleasant stay
The Gs have a really neat setup. I have a very small rig so being able to have some common space to sit and enjoy the outdoors was a huge plus.
They were very kind and super informative even though they weren't there the day we stayed.
Can't wait to come back!
This little place was nothing short of a family Paradise. I was even told it looked better in the summer it was one of the most beautiful places we had ever been in any way. Our hosts who are very knowledgeable helped us with every question I had were able to guide us to everything we needed and also had a bunch of extra bonuses for us they were the full embodiment of hospitality. We were able to do fishing with my son something we've never done before we were able to try and air cooker out for the first time and cooked a beautiful chicken. They had a beautiful covering and even more amazing was there amazing propane fireplace with beautiful little glass pieces that made the fire seem all the more spectacular. We only had a chance to meet the lady host in person who was an absolute Delight. I didn't expect our visit to be any longer than 20 minutes but we completely lost track of time talking about her with all the wonderful things around the area and her family and my family and it was all but an amazing time it ended up being well over two hours and we didn't even notice that's how much fun we had and how much time flu. We had meant to go to Memphis and Jackson but this area was so gorgeous we could not pass up the opportunity to spend every waking moment. My kids thoroughly enjoyed all of her games fishing in the creek playing in the yard and just in general being the wonderful boys they are. I sincerely hope I get a chance in the future to come back sometime in the summer when they tell me it's more beautiful which I honestly find hard to believe. Thank you again for a wonderful host you were nothing short of magnificent and I can't thank you enough for this wonderful opportunity and time at your beautiful vacation property thank you again Super Dad
We are trying to conserve our funds as we are traveling for 6 months. This is our first Boondockers Welcome experience and what an experience it was. Like TheG's said, this spot can be found by using our GPS. The locked, fenced in camping area was easy to access by following the specific, detailed directions provided, days in advance, by TheG's. We were able to back our 38' class A through the gate and into the parking spot on the first try - even as Newbies.
We are history buffs and enjoyed the battlefields, but even more enjoyable was this site. Hanging out by the creek and relaxing on their porch swing were definitely a highlight.
First off, I am so sorry it took a bit to get this recommendation typed up!
Secondly, I HIGHLY recommend this BW location. The G's were very accommodating! They messaged us with VERY detailed information and there was no confusion upon arrival. It was warm during our stay and we highly appreciate the hook ups! They offered us the use of their outdoor patio and fans and it made the outdoors enjoyable! The kids loved being able to roam and explore looking for bugs and different plants around the area. Also, the town is only 10 or so minutes away. Such a sweet area with amazing local shops! Definitely recommend the coffee shop! Loved everything about this stay! Would love to meet up or stay again sometime!
We had a wonderful stay, this is a great spot, easy access, on the waterfront with hosts that go out of their way to make you feel at home.
