This house/Boondockers location is located 18 miles south of Columbus Ohio in a little farm town. Columbus is a great place for foodies and microbreweries, Clippers baseball, Ohio State university, Blue Jacket hockey, Nation Wide arena, Ohio State fairgrounds. There is a small lake south of me that has a nice 4 mile hiking path - Hargus Lake.
Thirty miles east is the Hocking Hills, more nice hiking. Twenty miles west is Deer Creek state park which has a beach and lake. The area is good for road biking.
Just a block north of the host site is an elementary school and a park with a walking track.
No running of generators after 9 pm.
The RV boon docking area is off of a main road in a small farm town two miles off of a state route. My only concern is the transition from the main road into my driveway, some trailers drag. I personally had a 40 foot fifth wheel that I pulled in and out.
Reasonable backing skills would be necessary, either backing in from the street or backing out. There is no room to turn big rigs around on the property. Smaller rigs will have no problem turning around or maneuvering.
There are many roads that lead you to Ashville Ohio. The two main roads coming off of State Route 23 into Ashville are St. Route 752 and St. Route 316... both of these routes have height restrictions due to a train overpass. 13’6” for Rt 316 and 13’9” for Rt 752.
There is a gravel lot behind my garage that has room to park both an RV and a tow vehicle together.
This is such a nice, secluded location off the highway! It was very easy to get to and the directions given by the host made it a breeze to find the spot, even though they weren't at the property when we arrived. The area has a nice, almost completely flat gravel pad to park on. There was even a picnic table and fire pit. We were able to hook up to the electric, which was a nice perk. The space feels very private behind the barn and looking out on the beautiful backyard and trees beyond. It seems to be a very quiet, peaceful little town. There is a train that goes by that you hear every now and then, but it's not too loud and didn't disturb us from a much needed night of sleep. We didn't need anything but rest on the way to our next destination, so I can't say much about the town/activities, but the host did let us know there is a school and park nearby to stretch our legs if needed, which was very considerate and great to know. We would definitely stop here again if we are in the area in the future! Thank you!
Arrived late after bucking the strong winds all day and then having a unit breakdown at a nearby fueling station. DonV was terrific! He text with us and made sure we had good direction and care. The campsite was immaculate and quiet behind a large shed giving us complete privacy. We will return!
Great stay! Quiet, large yard, private and solid gravel area for our big rig. Plenty of room to maneuver in grass. 50amp and water available.
Very nice site with privacy. We are grateful to our host who had everything lined up for us
It was a very clean, quiet and safe place to stay. It was nice that Don provided us with 30amp service. We would definitely would stay there again if we were traveling through.
Perfect place for an overnight stop. We enjoyed the space and it was exactly as described. The host was extremely accommodating. Would definitely recommend this spot.
I enjoyed being in this safe and quiet space again! And although I didn’t get a chance to see Don, he was making sure all was ok for me. Thanks again for everything!
I really enjoyed sending a night in this quiet surrounding! I slept soundly and woke up late which is not usual for me. My host as also been very attentive to make sure I was well setup and I really appreciated it. Thanks for everything!
Very private space in residential area. A little tricky to get into but great space. Within walking distance to town center. Highly recommended.
Didn't get to met our host, but highly recommend this flat gravel spot. Well away from the street and we could hear trains off in the distance. Nice place to stay after a long drive.
We enjoyed the large, level parking area toward the back of his property. Don had a water hose waiting for us which was a nice addition to the quiet, peaceful setting. We would recommend it.
