Rural area but a day trip to the southern Maine coast or the New Hampshire Mountains.
Appreciate no loud parties as parking area is close to our home.
Main road turns to dirt for about 1/4 mile
Plenty of room to park tow vehicle and or tow trailer elsewhere on property.
Fifth wheel units longer than thirty feet might be limited to turning around a shed for hookups. We don’t have any problem with forty three foot Motor Home making the turn.
Greater Portland Maine attractions. Entire Southern Maine coast. Freeport. Conway New Hampshire.
It was a blast!!
The hosts are so friendly, the area is beautiful. Would love to visit again!
This was our first boondocker and the hosts were amazing. Great site, very nice people and their neighbors have a farm where we were able to buy some lamb. Would love to come back Bob and Margaret
Really generous hosts, really enjoyed my stay and loved getting to know them. Would definitely recommend and would love to return if in the area. They’ve got really cool 😎 pups too.
I have no adequate words to describe Jim and Mona, but I can say ill remember them, their hospitality and their beautiful property for the rest of my life.
We were welcomed and we felt like we were adopted by Jim and Mona from day one. Besides offering us their perfect spot to stay, we were thought how to prepare perfectly cooked Maine lobster, invited over to the bonfire, helped with hookups, and probably few more things im missing right now...
We are relatively new to the camping lifestyle and the tips we got from both are priceless... as I said I dont know how to put in words our experiences here. We will be forever grateful!!!
This was a true all American experience for me and I will forever cherish it. Thank you Jim and Mona!!!
This was our first Boondockers experience as guests. We have hosted but never been guests. JCOS were the perfect hosts! The spot was perfect: level, with water and electric hook-up. There was one other camper there and JCOS hosted a campfire for all of us. We had a wonderful time exchanging travel stories and getting tips from each other of places to stay and things to do when traveling. The site is just close enough to the Maine coast that a day trip isn't hard at all (about 17 miles) but far enough away that you aren't in the middle of tourists. We had a great time exploring the Maine coast with lots of good tips from JCOS on what to do and see. They also told us about a blueberry farm about 3 miles away that had lots of good blueberries. If you visit them in August or September be sure to go get blueberries. Thank you JCOS! You will probably see us again next year.
I had such a wonderful time at this beautiful small farm at the end of the road, which is the perfect place to get away. Both J&M welcomed me when I arrived and helped me get set up. There are many hiking and logging trails nearby to explore. On Friday evening, they hosted a wonderful campfire fire for me and the other guests who were visiting from Vermont. My visit couldn't have been better. They are super friendly hosts with an amazing location in southern Maine.
We have new friends in Maine!! J and M were the best hosts we could have had for our 1st experience. They shared a campfire with us and allowed our well behaved dogs to enjoy the property. Thank you for the fantastic experience and PLEASE take care of yourselves so we can see you on the road in the future!! Blessings, Mike and Amy
We feel so lucky to have come across this boondocking location. They are fabulous. All of the reviews are correct! Thank you so much for your hospitality and the gift. We enjoyed our stay and hope to visit with you again in the near future.
There aren't words to express the kindness that was given to me and my pup! J&M are two of the sweetest people I've known. I'm a newbie to fulltime RV'ing and they took me under their wings and shared some of their experiences... including extensive practice with backing up my trailer! Their time is precious and they shared so much of it with me.
Very accommodating. Super nice folks and a beautiful setting. Two 👍👍 up! Lots to do in the area. Half an hour drive to the shore. Great place to stay.
I felt so welcome and really enjoyed hanging out with my new hosts friends. They had so many great stories and playing with the dogs and getting to tour the garden was extra nice. Gave me great advice for neat local towns to explore and Portland is really close as well. I especially enjoyed watching the chipmunks out my window while working on my computer in the morning and spending time hanging out with the hosts and other guests at the campfires. Thank you so much my new friends!!!
As others have said, you come as strangers and leave as friends. Absolutely wonderful hosts and fur babies. We hope to have them come visit is too!
This location is wonderful and private with so many options to park and there are atv/snowmobile/mountain bikes trails surrounding the property. There are plenty of water spots for fishing, swimming, and boating and a quick drive to all the popular Maine spots!
We hope to visit again. Thank you so very much J&M Woods!
We had such a good time with J+M! These are the type of people you want to have as life long friends. Our parking spot was great. We had a fun time at the fire and seeing some local sights. Their two dogs we love. Looking forward to seeing these wonderful people again!
We had a great stay at J&M Woods, they were very friendly and helpful, and have a great location by the woods! Highly recommended! Thank you very much to our hosts!
Jcos is a convenient location when visiting the Portland area. Wonderful, friendly people that we truly enjoyed getting to know and visiting with around the campfire!! Hope our paths cross again in future travels.
Truly enjoyed our time here. J&M Woods were the most hospitable host we have had. Invited us for a fire pit each night with wonderful conversation. They're Great Danes were loving dogs who are fantastic with people. They provide lots of space to park, the road in is a dirt road but easy enough to maneuver. And the location is close enough to enjoy a day trip to any of the southern Maine coastal areas. Thank you both for such a wonderful stay!!
If you are looking for a very quiet place in the country, this is your place. Our host warmly greeted us as we pulled into the driveway and helped us quickly get situated and set up. Soon we were all sitting around a campfire sharing stories.
There is more than enough room to maneuver around in the driveway. Directions provided by the host were spot on, and we had no trouble finding it. There is plenty of clearance to get any large rig in here. Everything is exactly as described.
We highly recommend J&M Woods if you are ever in this area.
They are both hardworking people and we’re there when we got there, even though we were running late from a flat tire, to show us where we can park!! This was our 35th wedding anniversary. After working at our craft fair on Saturday, we drove around for the day visiting old memories in the area. Wonderful thing about boondockers is that some of the locations may seem out of the way for some people but that’s how you get to meet families like this. Couldn’t have been happier
