***Oops, being so close to DC, we are a little busier than we thought. Mr. Electric Bill is climbing a bit. So if you hook up to electric, we have to charge $10/night. Quiet generators welcome.***
We are new to being host, but ran across this site while trying to figure out what type of RV to buy. This is a good way to chat with our guests a bit and find out what they like/don't like. But we are busy folks so excuse us if we don't have tons of time to talk or show you around.
It's a big circular driveway. We are hidden from the street during foliage time, but it's very safe. Neighbors won't be able to hear if you have a generator so that's cool. We are on an acre of land, but a lot of that is sloped, unuseable land in the back. But beautiful view!
Pets are welcome but there is nowhere to walk them as far as street walking. We are off of a two lane busy street and when I had a dog I drove somewhere to walk him because it's dicey walking out there.
Just normal consideration, please!
It's a gravel road leading up to the house and you will be parking on gravel. Big trucks have had no problem.
I've had a 40 footer in here before. The driver was really good at backing up. That's the only way that 40' would work here.
About 7 miles outside of DC. Close to University of Maryland.
We stayed just one night because we were on our way to home, (Canada).
The spot is very near Washington D.C.
where we passed the evening. 😀
The host was accommodating.
Both hosts were totally welcoming and helpful. I had a peaceful night's rest here on my way from Vermont down to Georgia. Feeling very grateful to them and to this group. Bill
Very thankful to have found this spot. Even though the young lady wasn’t home, lucky for her she was already in Florida but she still welcomed us to stay and enjoy our trip. They even offer water and electricity. Keep your eyes open as it is hard to spot the entrance but turning around in the spot was no problem for my 32 ft class A. Unhitching a toad directly across in the park is best. Once again thank you for your kindness.
What a great location to get to Washington DC.
We caught transit and then subway into downtown. It was very easy and only took about an hour and twenty minutes to get there. The only slight issue was the very busy road to catch the bus. It is only a four minute walk so if you use caution it should be no problem.
Hosts were awesome and very accommodating.
The driveway was very sharp and tricky to navigate but in our 30ft travel trailer we did ok. The turn around was very tricky. I am a very good driver but it was tight. I would not recommend trailers over 30ft. Motorhomes would have an easier time. The site was very nice, the hookups were a plus. The host was very accommodating and personable. We would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay with Woodzy! The hosts were incredibly accommodating and offered everything we may have needed for our stay! Although we have a longer RV, which took some maneuvering, we ended up perfectly in the space. It was nice to be so close to the city and have a place to stay, thank you!
These are very pleasant hospitable people who made my first experience using this application very enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend. Careful pulling into and out of the access road which can busy and has a blind spot, recommend having a spotter during this activity. Trailers longer than 21' will have an issue turning around in driveway.
Teddy is an awesome host! The location was absolutely perfect for us to be able to go check out D.C. We felt like we were out camping in our own little secluded site. I couldn't recommend her enough. Great person, awesome place! We will definitely be back when we travel back through! Teddy is very very very helpful when needing any kind of directions as well.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts we're extremely accommodating and gave us tons of info about the area and where to go and what to see. We managed in a 38 foot Class A but it was extremely tight getting in from the road. If you aren't very confident in your driving skills I wouldn't recommend anything over 30 ft. We would definitely stay again and recommend this to anyone looking to be close to DC without paying crazy prices.
Teddy could not have been a more accommodating host. Talked at length about smaller rv's. Was HOT(record heat that day) and Teddy insisted we hook into available electric for a/c and would not accept payment. A GREAT rv'er! Will stop by again when we come thru next time. THANKS Teddy !!!
Teddy was the most gracious, friendly and fabulous host ever. Before even arriving we were a little lost and she chased us in her car to wave us down and ensure we arrived safely. We had some issues with our rv and she went out of her way helping us to find an alternative solution. We can never repay her generosity and are blessed to have met her and her husband. Thanks Teddy xx
