This site is approximately 15 miles west of Salina, Kansas at the intersection of Interstate 135 and 70. It is secluded and the gravel road is traveled only by the two families living on the road, and the mailman. It is private, however you will hear the interstate traffic only 1/2 mile to the south.
No Drugs, no alcoholics, smoking butts are trash, no trash left on site (you pack it in and you pack it out), no dumping of gray or black water. Dry camping only. This is a prairie and the camping area is surrounded by tall grass prairie so fires in fire pit only. Generators are fine. Pickup truck camping and/or Tent okay. Friendly pets okay.
from the interstate exit, turn north for 1.5 mile on asphalt road. Then turn right for 3 miles on a county gravel road. Turning right on a county gravel road for one mile. Then back right for 1.5 miles on a county gravel road. The site is visible from the county road. The easement road is on the left, it is a 20 foot wide easement road and will be fairly tight for larger vehicles, however semis navigated this road to install cell tower equipment, so it is possible.
Tow vehicle will need to be removed while on the county road, prior to turning onto the easement road and camp area. The turn may be too tight to navigate with tow vehicle.
Rolling Hills Zoo is only 4 miles east.
Great downtown restaurants and eateries, such as Martinelli's italian, Blue Skye craft brewery, Robbys World Famous Cheesecake, Cozys Burgers. The Steifel Theater has class concerts that stop in on travel tour dates.
