generators allowed on a limited basis. Vehicle maintenance allowed with proper clean up. We are pretty laid back. Multi day stays allowed after discussion.
Drive is plenty big. No gravel roads or issues getting to our property.
Depending on size of rig we have parking for tow vehicle on site on in street.
Summer holidays we are always camping with no connectivity. Summer weekends is random and we often decide if we want to go camping last minute. Weather permitting.
Plenty of brewery's in town. Trail system can take you north or south 30 plus in ether direction.
Nicest people you could meet. I was very fortunate to meet twstone 1 a. They were very kind and accommodating. They supplied me with a cord and squeezed me in when they had another guest. Their house is just outside of town on a beautiful block in the country with a large level driveway. They let me know about all the dogs in the neighborhood and I walked my dog with no problems. A great place to stay!
With most campgrounds closed in the upper midwest this time of year, it was great to find a boondocker host on our path home. Twstone1a was the perfect stop for us. The site is easy to get to and away from traffic and town. The host was wonderful and great to talk with.
Thank you!
Joe and Lorraine
This place is just off the interstate, making it a convenient stop. Host is a fellow RVer and very nice, especially accommodating our later-than-anticipated arrival. Free 30amp hookup was a plus!
twstone1a was a welcoming and helpful host with a great setup for visiting RVs. We're new to RVing, but backing in was easy enough and our host was helpful in getting us to the right spot.
Our hosts were wonderful! Great location with lots of room to walk the dog or let him off leash. Personable couple! Electric great! We didn't use the water bc we needed new washers. Directions were spot on! Close to everything, yet out in country feel. We look forward to returning next year to visit family in area!
This was a great place to stay for the night while we were passing through. Our host was very welcoming. It was a quiet neighborhood so we were able to get a rest full night sleep. We will definitely stop by again.
A short distance from the interstate. Essy to get too.. Directions are good.. A quiet spot to park for the night. Enjoyed our conversation with the host and his other Boondockers.
Such a great host and location. Would highly recommend. Offered hook-ups and water as needed.
We had an excellent stay. The host was very helpful getting our RV set up and provided use with water and electricity. His house was very easy to get too.
twstone1a and his family were Extremely pleasant and helpful with everything including things to do locally. Everything is literally "A Stone's Throw Away" from here. Great Location! If I'm ever back in this area there is No Question about where I'm staying l just hope there's an available spot for me.. Again twstone1a... Thanks For Everything!!
I really enjoyed my stay here, I was welcomed and made to feel at home immediately. Great location, easy to find and close to town.
twstone1a was very helpful and welcoming. Even after the hurricane they welcomed us to stay. He responded very quickly the same day. They joined us as we rested after setting up for some nice conversation. I would definitely stay at twstone1a's place again. Hope our paths cross again sometime.
T and T were wonderful hosts with a beautiful place to stay complete with a 30 amp hookup! Next time I go through I plan to spend more time getting to know this very generous couple. T was awesome in helping me level my rv. I cannot recommend this spot enough!
TWstone1a and his wife are beyond welcoming. I pulled in after 2, 12 hr days of driving. He did everything in his means to assist in getting us set up for the night. It was quite warm and humid. He made our night comfortable for us to journey onward the following morning. Their home is one of those that as you pull away, you're glad that they are part of your journey.
This was a beautiful rural setting and restful stop. Our host was very helpful and friendly. I give them AAA!
Hosts were so wonderful. They hooked us up with electric and water. We ste new RVers and they showed us some tricks and helped us learn a bit more about RVs. Such great people. Thank you.
Easy location to find. Hosts are very friendly and offered to assist with whatever we need. The neighborhood was a nice area to take a walk. We had a nice visit around the campfire. Will stay here again if we are in the area.
We were greeted warmly and treated like old friends. They really went out of their way to be amazing hosts. The spot is nestled in suburbia. The neighborhood is very clean and even the neighbors waved at us. We found it easy to back in our 31ft travel trailer and truck. It felt very safe. And the city is only five minutes away. The electricity and water they shared with us is very appreciated! Thank you so much for a great stay!!
This was our very first Boondockers welcome stay and we couldn’t be more pleased. We stayed here on our way back to Canada from Arizona during COVID 19. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We got some heavy winds during our stay and they offered us a longer stay which we gratefully accepted. It was nice to have some conversation with another couple after being isolated during COVID 19 while staying 6 feet apart. I would highly recommend staying at Just a Stones Throw away.
Parking was a little uneven, but Tom was regrading as I was leaving. Very accommodating, Would go back again.
We had a short stay on our way home from the south. It was nice to talk a bit with our host but kept our distance do to the corona virus . Really happy that he allowed us to stay and it was a little tight but he went above and beyond making sure we fit our 42ft fifth wheel along the garage. Thanks again for a great stay
Some of the best hosts we have had! The spot itself is plenty big enough and easy enpugh to get into. Backing into required but theres plenty of room to maneuver and line yoirself up.
Our hosts met us upon arrival and helped me get situated offering electric and water!
The place is super close to cedar rapids and was a perfect stop for us on our way to chicago.
Our hosts even invited us to dinner with them and then spent quite a few hours talking and hanging out. They even let us extend our stay a couple nights which was super helpful as we are nearing the end of a 4 month trip and needed to take care of some stuff.
We would definitely stay again and will most likely try to in august.
Tom and Terry were fantastic hosts! There were 2 campers staying there and we all went out to dinner and shared stories. These two hosts made me feel right at home! Will stay here again if available in the spring
We arrived on a wet, cold, nasty night and were greeted as we drove in with help in situating our little trailer. They went way out of their way to make us comfortable. Another Boondocker was staying there as well and we had such a fun time going out to grab some food together and sharing stories. Wonderful stay... Exemplary hosts.
Such nice nice hosts! All of them!
The boondocking site was very straightforward, relatively quiet spot to park in the driveway. I was provided electric and water, which was extremely helpful because it was cold! Much appreciated.
I hope our paths cross again one day, they were so nice to hangout with.
We had fun staying at the Stone place. They were of a warm and generous welcome. A too short stay, but so nice. What a pleasure the girls had to play together.
So enjoyed our stay with our hosts at Just a Stone's Throw Away. Had a wonderful visit, peaceful night's rest and we were able to easily get on the road to our next stop. Will definitely look them up the next time we're in the area!
I was so spoiled. Beautiful setting. The little kids. The cooler weather, the restful night sleep oh and even the 30 amp service.
So much kindness shown me. My life was made better by stopping here! A great example of a Boondockers Welcome Host! Thanks!
I’ve been traveling around the Midwest this summer and I have to say that the folks I’ve run into in Iowa have been the most friendly and gracious. Twstone1a was the epitome of Iowa friendly. I watched him “help me” change my oil on my rig. I was welcomed like family and even shared a meal with them.
I hope their travels get them out to Colorado so I can reciprocate their hospitality.
I really enjoyed my stay here and wish I could have stayed longer. The hosts were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
Because the driveway dips near the road, my trailer hitch scraped their driveway a bit. Be aware if your rig is low, so as not to damage their pavement.
