Fairly quiet spot near Trans Canada Highway ( 3 miles ) and several towns in Pictou County. Less than 15 minutes to Northumberland Ferries Ltd, 6 klms toTim Hortons, Dairy Queen, information center, Irving big stop, 7 minutes to towns, all nearby. Everything you need. Have one 30 amp service and several 15 amp services with water. Have a road in the woods if you like the woods, no fires though. Hope to have it all pull through in the future, still working on things. Sometimes we take off for the week camping ourselves.
No generators or loud pets/noise/ partying after 9 pm or before 9am. No need power here. Pick up after pets. Let us know if you have pets as we have an elderly cat ( Chubby ) so we can keep her inside. No fire rings in the dry season, as we live with woods all around us ( 100 acres ). Quiet time 10 pm to 9 Am. You may want to keep pets on a lease as we have porcupines, ground hogs, skunks, deer, rabbits, raccoons, coyote, occasional bear, visit . Relax, Have fun, lay back and have a good nights sleep. Enjoy Pictou County.
Paved road to location and partially paved driveway with a left turn when driving in. 25 foot wide driveway ( at the road ) has deep ditches on either side of driveway at the road ( see pics ), so watch carefully when entering or exiting property. I watch my 25 foot bumper pull trailer when entering or exiting lot. I`m sure a longer trailer can turn in, lot`s of room to turn once in here; and you`re welcome to try the driveway for yourself with a longer rig. Summer/dry time can drive straight through, no turning, using the old updated logging road with a 13 foot yellow gate ( see pics ) into lot that should be able to take any length vehicle. 25 foot driveway entrance has deep ditches on either side also.
Tow vehicle can be parked on the driveway or grass.
We`re a bit paranoid over the Coronavirus thingy going around. We`re old people with medical problems and don`t want to catch this thing or spread it. We hated doing this as we love the Boondockerswelcome community, they are all great people, loved talking to each and everyone of them. Hopefully this virus will die out in the summer and we can all get back to normal. As they say, wash hands, social distance from everyone, ( stay home if you can) hand sanitizer, wear a mask, STAY SAFE PEOPLE, this is a nasty virus for older people.
Riverfront jubilee, Festival of the tartans, Saturday morning Farmers market, Sunday flea market, New Glasgow square theatre, golfing nearby, Pictou Decoste center, Ship Hector ( wife is direct descendant ). 2 Information centers nearby.
Quite and spacious place to stay at. Travellingwilburys were uncomplicated hosts who knew what campers need. Thank you again for your hospitality and the delicious cinnamon buns. They were to die for.
Hosts were so very nice, friendly, and helpful. They even provided water and electric! Easy to get to and you can pull through the site. Quiet too. But what made it really special was the hosts.
We had such a pleasant overnight stay and visit with the hosts.
Their location is very quiet. The added bonus of the homebaked cinnamon buns
was the icing on the cake. My only regret was that when we left in the morning we did not get a chance to say our good-byes. We rang the doorbell and knocked and waited but no one came to the door and we didn't want to disturb them if they were still sleeping. So my BIG apologies for not thanking them before we left, for their generous hospitality.
Nice visit and great hookup. Thanks, it was a pleasure meeting you both. Happy travels.
Beautiful wooded area. Very hospitably couple, we enjoyed our visit with them Lots of space for our trailer.
A lovely and quiet place to stay the night! Our host was very kind. We would gladly stay on their property again. Thank you!
Excellent endroit, gens sympathique. Nous y retournerons si nous passons dans le coin.
