Fairly quiet spot near Trans Canada Highway ( 3 miles ) and several towns in Pictou County. Less than 15 minutes to Northumberland Ferries Ltd, 6 klms toTim Hortons, Dairy Queen, information center, Irving big stop, 7 minutes to towns, all nearby. Everything you need. Have one 30 amp service and several 15 amp services with water. Have a road in the woods if you like the woods, no fires though. Hope to have it all pull through in the future, still working on things. Sometimes we take off for the week camping ourselves. Have tools/jack/welder if you need a hand with anything minor. Nothing fancy here, just a place to relax in the country for a quiet nights sleep.
We have an electric fence around our gardens to keep out the deer, so guests responsibility to keep an eye on children and pets so they don`t get a shock. No generators or loud pets/noise/ partying after 9 pm or before 9am. No need power here. Pick up after pets. Let us know if you have pets as we have an elderly cat ( Chubby ) so we can keep her inside. No fire rings in the dry season, as we live with woods all around us ( 100 acres ). Quiet time 10 pm to 9 Am. You may want to keep pets on a lease as we have porcupines, ground hogs, skunks, deer, rabbits, raccoons, coyote, occasional bear, visit . We have security camera`s for your protection also. Relax, Have fun, lay back and have a good nights sleep. BTW, Marijuana is now legal in Canada, so feel free to indulge if you`re into that. Enjoy Pictou County.
Paved road to location and partially paved driveway with a left turn when driving in. 25 foot wide driveway ( at the road ) has deep ditches on either side of driveway at the road ( see pics ), so watch carefully when entering or exiting property. I watch my 25 foot bumper pull trailer when entering or exiting lot. I`m sure a longer trailer can turn in, lot`s of room to turn once in here; and you`re welcome to try the driveway for yourself with a longer rig. Summer/dry time can drive straight through, no turning.
Tow vehicle can be parked on the driveway or grass.
Riverfront jubilee, Pictou Lobster Carnival, Festival of the tartans, Saturday morning Farmers market, Sunday flea market, New Glasgow square theatre, golfing nearby, Pictou Decoste entertainment center, Ship Hector ( wife is direct descendant ). Information center nearby.
I was a bit late of my ETA but they were welcoming and helpful. We chatted for a bit and talked of our travels. They have some beautiful vegetable and fruit gardens and seem like really healthy and happy folks. She brought me some homemade plum jam and two hand crocheted dish rags which was so kind! I would definitely come back if traveling through this area again.
We had a very nice overnight stay at this farm-like property which had all the conveniences of a comfortable camp ground. We had a nice chat at the campfire and a very restful night. We can recommend this very welcoming couple if you are passing through this area.
This is a wonderful BW host near Pictou, NS. You stay in a lovely rural setting with deer visiting in the morning. The hosts were very nice and friendly. Just after dinner, a wonderful plate of homemade cinnamon buns were delivered to our campervan!! What wonderful Maritime hospitality. We hope to return again.
Our hosts are very nice and friendly people. They have a beautiful yard and garden and it's such a nice peaceful place to stay. They even brought out freshly baked buns to us. They were delicious. Thanks again for everything. Just wish the weather had been better.
Nothing but positive things to say about this boondocking experience. The hosts were incredibly friendly and generous. The property is beautiful and quiet in the evening. I will definitely make a point of staying here again on our next east coast road trip!
We loved our stay at this Property. It was A1. It was super quiet, spacious and surrounded with beautiful gardens. The hosts even have their own walking trail where you can get beautiful pictures of sunsets. They have truly thought of everything to make your stay comfortable.
They greeted us with big smiles upon arrival. We had a little chat and then we set up. Shortly after, our host Cinnamon Girl brought us the best cinnamon buns I have ever tasted hot out of the oven! It was her mother’s recipe too. Yum! We highly recommend these hosts. We will definitely love to stay here again if we travel to the Maritimes in the future. Thank you for being such amazing people and for sharing your beautiful property.
Everything about this stay was top notch. The communication was quick. We knew shortly after requesting a stay that it had been accepted.
They messaged us to let us know exactly where to park. When we arrived the owners met us to get us situated.
After a couple hours of us planning our route for the week they came over with a plate full of freshly baked cinnamon rolls! Yum!
We spent over an hour talking with them about lots of things. It felt as if we had known each other forever! Such a fun, generous, and kind couple.
If you get a chance, stay with the Travelling Willburys even though it won’t be “The End of the Line.”
Nice, very quiet and very well equipped location! As stated...everything you need. The hosts are friendly and accommodated us with short notice.
Nous étions très bien installé chez nos hôtes. Nous y avons dormi comme des "anges". N'hesitez pas à y aller ils sont très gentils!
Quite and spacious place to stay at. Travellingwilburys were uncomplicated hosts who knew what campers need. Thank you again for your hospitality and the delicious cinnamon buns. They were to die for.
Hosts were so very nice, friendly, and helpful. They even provided water and electric! Easy to get to and you can pull through the site. Quiet too. But what made it really special was the hosts.
We had such a pleasant overnight stay and visit with the hosts.
Their location is very quiet. The added bonus of the homebaked cinnamon buns
was the icing on the cake. My only regret was that when we left in the morning we did not get a chance to say our good-byes. We rang the doorbell and knocked and waited but no one came to the door and we didn't want to disturb them if they were still sleeping. So my BIG apologies for not thanking them before we left, for their generous hospitality.
Nice visit and great hookup. Thanks, it was a pleasure meeting you both. Happy travels.
Beautiful wooded area. Very hospitably couple, we enjoyed our visit with them Lots of space for our trailer.
A lovely and quiet place to stay the night! Our host was very kind. We would gladly stay on their property again. Thank you!
Excellent endroit, gens sympathique. Nous y retournerons si nous passons dans le coin.
