We're in Carson Valley, NV (Gardnerville) with stunning views in one direction of Job's Peak (Sierra) 2.5 miles away and 6,000 ft. above us. Ranches / farms to the north of us with closest residence 3/8 mile away. To the east we look across the Valley to the Pine Nut Mountains. Our property is 2.5 acres and fully landscaped with 80 trees and five lawn sections. The Minden and Gardnerville business area is 12 minutes away. Carson City is 25 minutes north. South Lake Tahoe to stateline (Harrah's and Harvey's, etc) is 25 minutes. Markleeville (CA alps) is 20 minutes to south. Reno is approx. 50 minutes to the north of us. Heavenly Ski Nevada side is 15 minutes. Kirkwood Ski area is 30 miles and 40 minutes away. The historic first community in Nevada named Genoa (founded 1851) is 10 minutes north.
Please no smoking anywhere on the property.
We like friendly dogs, but have no pets of our own.
Enjoy the unbelievable scenery! We really like helping with info about the area and ideas of things to do.
Everything paved all the way to and on our property. We're on a short, dead end street off of a fairly major 2 lane road.
I should mention that for pull through parking it will be in the loop to the front side of the home. I have fresh water and 120 VAC, 15 A available there.
To the rear of the home behind our attached garage and next to my detached garage is a huge level concrete area. IT IS NOT A PULL THROUGH SPOT. In that area I have 120 VAC, 30A (TT-30R) and also 120VAC, 15A. There's also a tap that supplies our fantastic well water nearby.
No problem in that we have 12,000 sq ft of asphalt driveway area within our 2.5 acre property. So there's no need to even consider using the street.
We do some last minute trips in our camper in the summer, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you.
Tahoe (everything you can think of to do there), Genoa (Mormon Station State Park, Genoa Bar in continuous operation since 1853), Virginia City (historic silver/gold mining town), Markleeville (Grover Hot Springs), Carson Valley (Tahoe Minden airport- world renowned sailplane rides, skydive center), hundreds of miles of OHV roads in the Pine Nut Mountains, historic Dangberg Ranch, world class fly fishing on the forks of the Carson River, hiking 5 minutes away in Fay-Luther Canyon trails, 5 more trail systems in the Valley. Bentley Heritage Distillery- Tours and spirits (Gin and Vodka right now)- Gambling in the local casinos or at Tahoe. Highway 88-Hope Valley recreation area. Photography outings and excursions to see wild horses in the Pine Nuts. If you're an outdoor person (winter and summer), this is the area! World class skiing all around Tahoe! Too much to recount all possibilities right here!
You really can't ask for any better spot for your RV. Ken and Jerilyn have made staying on their property very comfortable with easy access in and out. A very nice concert leveled pad with water and electricity.
Their hospitality makes you feel like you've known each other for long time. We totally recommend anybody coming this way to check this part of NV out, you'll be surprised by it's beauty.
Thanks Ken and Jerilyn.
Wow! We had such a nice time getting to know these wonderful folks. And their little slice of heaven is absolutely breathtaking. Flat, level and easy in/out. Great Verizon coverage. Thank you so much for sharing your view with us for a bit.
We had a wonderful stay at K and J's house. Their property has incredible views on montains, it's peaceful and quiet..exactly what we needed after 4 months driving in Canada and US. They provided many activities for our kids and they had so much fun.
We finally spent 2 nights there and had the best time. They were very attentive to our needs. Too bad we have to leave! We hope to see them again..in US or in France!
We highly recommend this place.
Very lovely place but mostly very charming, helpful and interesting couple ♥️. We never forget... and remember you will always be very wecome at our home!
Such a beautiful place to stay... fabulous to wake up to the sunrise shining on to Jobs Peak!
K & J made us very welcome indeed... we only had a compact RV so had no problems parking up at all, but even bigger RVs won’t have a problem... we were able to park on a flat, level concrete hard standing and could position ourselves to be able to make the very best of a wonderful view. An RV30 power outlet was available for us to use and a long extension cable and water line available, however since it was only our second night we didn’t need to take on water.
K and I soon found we had a shared passion for photography and could quite easily have spent all day chatting. K was also a wealth of local information and helped out with maps and directions as well as some awesome photographic locations.
We really enjoyed our stay at Carson Valley... thank you both again for such a warm welcome
Friendly hosts with a picturesque, roomy, and quiet place to park. The valley is close enough to Tahoe and other recreational opportunities to enjoy day tripping. Convenient to supply shopping too. Scmecheng hosts were very responsive, welcoming and can provide visitor info as needed. Great experience and location perfect for those on the HWY 395 route.
We enjoyed a few nights at this beautiful host location. The hosts are very welcoming and provide you with all the information you need to have a good time. The location is about 25 minutes form South Lake Tahoe (beautiful drive) and located in a valley complete with cows! We loved the area and our hosts, we can't recommend them enough! Thank you for everything!
Our visit at Carson Valley Scenic Estate was TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! The view was magnificent, but it didn't stop there! The spot for the RV was perfect, followed by great hospitality that included travel advice for the area (with printed materials and map), suggestions for travel for the remainder of our trip, trouble shooting and repairs on our RV, and sewing tips. Obviously, this first Boondockers Welcome visit will be impossible to beat. Thank you for sharing your corner or paradise with us!
You seriously could not ask for a better boondockers spot. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, the site is gorgeous, quiet and comfortable. Carson Valley has a lot to offer and it is just a 20 minute drive to South Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend.
It’s hard to decide what was more incredible about our stay—the stunning property and location or the warm, welcoming, generous hosts—everything about our stay exceeded even our loftiest hopes and expectations.
We thoroughly enjoyed delightfully knowledgeable, colorful, and helpful conversations on the patio—learning and sharing with one another while watching the sun rise up and down over the Sierras.
It’s rare to find such kindness and connection in this world—the beauty and friendship found here in the Carson Valley feels like a miraculous gift for which we’ll be forever grateful.
Both Ken and Jerilyn made us extremely welcome at their home at the foothills of the Eastern Sierra.
Your comments and advices were appreciated. Sadly after 3 nights we said our goodbyes as we head north on this trip to the West Coast of the USA
John and Judy
Really nice and personable couple. Property was like a resort in the low hills below the mountains. They provided good directions to some beautiful scenic attractions. Really enjoyed our time with them. A+
I could never even begin to do justice insofar as giving my stay at the Carson Valley Scenic Estate a great review. Not only was the space / accommodations absolutely PERFECT, the host was one of the nicest persons you could ever wish to meet. Unfortunately I was not able to meet his wife who was traveling. If you get a chance to stay here consider yourself lucky! If you want to watch of video of us having a real adventure on his UTV in the Sierra click here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc3aDx62ZIA
