Great hosts, came out and guided me in. Lots of room to maneuver and park. Hope to stay with them in the future, lots of laughter and fun.
The hosts are super nice. The view is excellent. Love being out in nature. Thanks for a great and safe place to spend the night.
Our stay at Rainey Ranch was fantastic. Our hosts are two of the nicest people you can meet.
We enjoyed our stay immensely.
We had a great time staying with Mary and Verne. It was a quiet area with little traffic. They have a little cantina that we sat and visited with Mary in and she told us some stories about the various 'decorations' that people had given them for their cantina. We would defiantly stay again!
M and V were very friendly and great to be around. M and V are friendly and generous and we will definitely return.
The space provided is flat and adjacent to the irrigated meadow where the cattle were gated in. It was very hot when we stayed there and we used our generator to run the AC without complaint by them even though we hadn’t planned on using it except for about a hour a day. Our generator is pretty quiet though.
M and V shared about some sites to see and even drew us a map on how to get there.
Really appreciated the time spent with them and will return when a little cooler.
After Google Maps quit working, Verne was nice enough to talk me in by phone. Then Mary met me on a four-wheeler and showed me where to park. It's a lovely country setting.
A delightfully friendly couple who made sure we had everything we needed. Large grassy area next to a field with with some magnificent cattle. We really appreciated the hospitality.
Very nice folks!! Good flat rv parking area for our 37 foot 5th wheel. Recommend using their neighbors turn around area to enter property if you have a large rv or motorhome due to sharp angle of drive.
This is our second visit to MVrainey and has become one of our favourite places to stop. Love the seclusion and quiet of there ranch. Hope to stop by again.

That was a lot of fun.....Thank you for having us, we very much enjoyed our stay, especially getting to see the cattle drive from our large level site.
Hope to see you again. Please visit us if you are ever in our area.

These awesome hosts graciously welcomed us to stay on their property at Rainey Ridge. Their sense of humor and sociable personalities made our stay lots of fun as well as educational. We learned about the surrounding area, cattle ranches, and sage brush, among other things. This was a very quiet and peaceful place to stay with a beautiful view both in the pasture as well as on top of the ridge. The best part of this stay was making new friends that we really hope to meet up with again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed some social time with them and other BW guests. The parking in the field was perfect with a great view of the mountains, quiet and level.
We only stayed one night but we got a great restful nights sleep. The parking area was plenty big enough for both of our rigs to setup.
Since BW suggests we not use their real names, we’ll just say our hosts were super friendly and have a wonderful property. We hope to come back next year and spend more time with them.
We will definitely be back. My hubby & I, and our little dog stayed for one night. We had a great time. The hosts were amazing, friendly, and kept asking if we needed anything, even after they had been busy with house guests prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, we had too much driving ahead of us or we would have stayed another night. Looking forward to our next road trip that way. There’s lots of space for your rig, having a couple blocks might be helpful for levelling, but we didn’t bother using ours for the one night we stayed. There’s some prettty cool places near by, like the wind turbine interpretive centre, the petrified forest and we also went swimming in the Columbia River at the Rocky Coulee Recreation Area.
The host's are wonderful people and the location was quiet with a nice view of the surrounding hills and a star filled sky to marvel at when the sun goes down.
Their property is approximately 10 miles from downtown Ellensburg which has pretty much anything you could need or want. It's also the home of Central Washington University, which gives it a unique vibe that I think the host captured well when he said; "it's a mix of college students and cowboys". The town host's one of the biggest (maybe, The Biggest?) rodeo's in the state of WA, hence the "cowboy" reference.
There's also a vibrant downtown area that has a number of restored early 20th century buildings that have been repurposed into various businesses like coffee shops and antique stores where you could very easily spend an afternoon wandering around.
Ok, I know this is beginning to sound like a Chamber of commerce ad for the downtown business association, but I honestly didn't know of this towns existence until 2 days ago, it was just one of those "finds" that once in awhile you're lucky enough to stumble upon.
I had a wonderful two night stay at Rainey Ridge! My hosts could not have been more welcoming!! We got together the first night for some wine and conversation at their house and the second night at my rv. The final right turn onto their property is pretty tight, so I chose to turn around at the end of the street, where there was plenty of space for me, so I could drive straight in. The field below their house was big enough for me to turn around again to exit straight out and then turn around for the drive down their street. I hope to be passing thru the area again sometime, so I can stay again! I have a 35’ class A with no toad, and my dog as navigator.
Our two night stay at MVrainey was wonderful. They set us up in a easy to get to location and made sure we were all set with water. The dead end road they live on is VERY quiet and peaceful. The best part of the stay was the host themselves. We socialized with them both evenings and they gave us some good insight into things to check out while in the area. We feel we left there with two more Boondocker friends and would not hesitate to stop again if in the area. Thanks V&M!
MVrainey offers a beautiful scene to stay in and great company. It was a relief to arrive at the way station after leaving the noisy city and settle down for a peaceful night.
Our stay was very enjoyable, our hosts treated us like royalty. We would be happy to recommend our RV friends stay at MVrainey when they are in the Ellensburg area.
