We only have one 30 amp hookup and one 110. 1st one to request the 30 amp gets it.
No charge for electric hookup unless you are using your air conditioner, then $5.00 per day.
Two & a half miles of gravel road
Plenty of room for parking
Theodore Roosevelt National Park- 60 miles
Black Hills- 150 miles - Enchanted Highway 20 miles.
We had a great stay and will stay again if available when we are in the area.
Rustan Ranch were very hospitable. The space was level and water, sewer & electric available if necessary. Not far from Enchanted Highway and Roosevelt National Park. Would stay again.
I messed up on the booking and we arrived a day early. Our hosts were so kind and welcoming and helped up park and help us connect water, electric and sewer. We had a nice time talking to them and learning about their farm.
We had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend them!
Doc and I had a great stay on the host property. They were very helpful and accommodating. We really appreciate them letting us stay on their property. Thank you again
Very exciting for us city folks to see the farm up close. Nice flat location. Beautiful views.
Thanks very much for a great stay.
Lovely couple, we were looking for a spot in the country and this proved to be a great experience. Fields of corn, canola and alfalfa for as far you could see. Host were very hospitable and we really enjoyed talking with them. Highly recommend this for a quiet relaxing spot. Easy drive to see the Enchanted Hwy metal art displays.
These hosts helped us back in and get set up. They gave a lot of information about things to do around the area. The day we were supposed to leave there was really bad weather and our hosts graciously offered to let us stay an extra night and not have to drive through it. We would love to come back if we are in the area.
Super nice hosts!! Very welcoming and accommodating. They met us when we arrived and helped us get lined up in our campsite. They also gave us some great suggestions on the different attractions in the area. We loved the beautiful landscape; the yellow color of the canola flowers made it picture perfect. We enjoyed walking our dogs along the trails around the property.
When we left, our host gave us suggestions on which direction to take that would cut our route a bit shorter. We appreciate that very much!!
We would love to come back in the future.
Just FYI- Follow the host’s directions on the last turn on to 72nd st. We were coming from the north (direction of I94) and our GPS told us to turn left onto 72nd, which is east.
The Rustans were incredible hosts... providing comforts I didn’t think would be available in this remote location (good Verizon phone service and WiFi). I was hesitant about the 2.5 mile gravel road, but it was in great shape and I traveled it at over 30MPH with no problem. My AC is not working and it has been incredibly hot, but they parked me in a nice shady spot…very quiet and private. I loved walking around on their ranch…I’m a city girl and this was a great experience. Loved watching the cows come home in late afternoon. The sunsets and the dark night skies were magnificent. The fields of canola were breathtaking. It you are looking for solitude, this is the place…a long way away from everything. Not really convenient to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, but the closest Boondocker’s Welcome location…an hour away. I would suggest bug spray…the flies were pretty awful!
This was our second stay @ Rustan Ranch. Great hosts, great conversation. Beautiful yellow canola fields everywhere. 45 minute drive to Roosevelt NP. Make sure to check out Enchanted Highway and Medora Musical. See you again friends.
What a super nice couple. They met us at the driveway, assisted in getting us backed in and settled and even gave us winery and brewery points of interest! I wish I had more than one night there, and didn't have to leave so early the next day. It would have been nice to spend more time getting to know them. This will be a sure stop on my next "out west" excursion! Thanks again!
The ranch is in a beautiful area of North Dakota and very quiet. We stayed for two nights and both nights our hosts came out to greet us and make sure we had everything we could possibly need. We spent a pleasant afternoon sitting on their porch with drinks and visiting.
We had a great stay @ Rustan Ranch. We were given directions to Roosevelt national Park that were spot on. They also allowed us an extra day to see the Enchanted Highway. Once they heard our next stop was South Dakota, they provided an awesome map and told us about neat things to see while there. Great couple and will look forward to seeing them again. Thank you!
We had a quiet and relaxing stay at Rustan Ranch. We enjoyed visiting with our hosts and appreciate the information that they gave us about things to see in the area. The gravel road is in great shape and the highway is being repaved, so access shouldn't be a problem. We would be happy to stay there again in the future. Perhaps our paths will cross in Owasso.
Quiet country setting in the rolling hills of expansive agricultural land. The hosts are among the best you can ask for. They offered great suggestions of things to do and see in the area.
They went above and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
So thankful for this host! Great place to stay for a few days while exploring Theodore Roosevelt (about an hour or so away, which worked well for us.) Quiet and a great spot to back into. Hosts were fun to chat with and they even gave us a map for Custer/Hot Springs, SD when we mentioned that was our next destination. There was another full time couple there for one of the nights and there was still plenty of privacy. Our kids loved that there was plenty of room for them to stretch their legs. Thank you so much for letting us (and our rambunctious kiddos) stay!
Our 1st Boondockers Welcome stay and we arrived as strangers but left feeling like family! Galen and Carma were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home on their 300+ acre sprawling ranch.
The site that they provided for us was level enough for our 41’ motorcoach, had water, 30amp power and was tucked nicely by a treed alcove.
The sunsets over the golden wheat fields were amazing and mowed areas allowed us take walks along the cow pasture and little tree farm. Our pup was in her glory freely exploring and sniffing till her heart was content.
We shared great conversations over wine and dinners with the Rustan’s and learned so much about their life on this New England farm.
They graciously allowed us to stay two extra nights which gave us time to rest after a few days of exploring the nearby areas and Theodore Roosevelt National Park (~60 miles away). We left with a dirty coach and toad from the 2.5 mile dirt road to their place but rich from the experience that made it well worth it!
Words cannot our express our gratitude to these Boondockers Welcome hosts that we look forward to seeing again!
The Rustans are wonderful hosts, providing a warm welcome to their farm and helpful assistance in getting set up to stay. They helped me find a good local mechanic for some repairs on my rig too! Their land is beautiful and quiet. My dog loved it too! Be sure to follow their directions to get to the farm. GPS and the map link in BW are not always reliable in this area.
We had THE BEST time here! Rustangd were just amazing- both greeted us when we arrived, so helpful getting us settled. We had an awesome 1st evening seeing the stars- OMG! Even though it was in the 90’s both days, it cooled down at night to sleep with the windows open and covers on! We appreciated the trails they mowed for us to walk around their fabulous property. Got to see the Enchanted Highway, great recommendation. Some of the world’s largest metal sculptures. Meet Gary, the creator, at the gift shop and have some ice cream.. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
I cannot put in proper words the gratitude a which I have for my stay at the ranch. The hosts are amazing. A matter of fact we are now friends for life.
Galen and Carmen are definitely superhosts! Their property was beautiful, peaceful and quiet. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, even driving all the way into town to pick up an electric converter, as we did not have the right one. We would highly recommend this location. Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us😊
We received a very warm welcome for our three night stay at the Rustin ranch. We used 110 or 20 amp for running our air conditioning. They also have 30 amp if available. We also had water & a dump station. We visited the Enchanted Highway and met the artist Gary in his gift shop. Our hosts told us about Gary, the sculpture artist. We also found our way to the Theodore Roosevelt NP Park South And north units with their helpful directions and suggestions. We also went to the Madora musical in the evening and also in the daytime the Theodore Roosevelt one-man show. The Rustins are very creative, helpful, kind & would do anything for us. They have a beautiful ranch on the Prairie with the Homestead house there, which was being restored, five cows, a couple of barn cats, & some beautiful flowers, a guest house and had two Boondockers Welcome RVs there when we were there. The ranch is way out in the country so plan for a little time to get to the site, but it is well worth it. The stars At night were truly extraordinary. We’ve never seen the Milky Way like that, or as many stars ever in our lives. What a beautiful, restful, quiet stay we had. We recommend them & the Rustin Ranch very highly.
What a restful stay we had at Rustangd’s oasis.
These folks are wonderful and generous hosts. They got us set up, chatted about traveling and area attractions like the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and then let us relax in our rig.
We spent some time outside after dark watching shooting stars and listening to the Coyote Chorus. Peaceful!
Thank you guys!!
My only regret is that we could only stay one night. The hosts were so kind, helpful, and friendly. Their land is just breathtaking and they are living my dream on hundreds of beautiful acres that is self sustainable! They are both fascinating, well traveled people and I could’ve listened to them speak about their adventures forever! Thanks again!
We can’t say enough about these wonderful Hosts. They were absolutely the best! Very kind and generous, they treated us like family, we just loved them! The ranch is gorgeous, quiet, peaceful and the stars are awesome. Thank you for having us, we just loved our time here.
Great experience with wonderful hosts we went out of their way to make us comfortable on their beautiful farm. Thanks for having us!
We had a great time boondocking at this place . The hosts were awesome people and fun to hang out with . Super quiet and stars were amazing .
Very congenial hosts willing to accommodate more needs than I have. Nice quiet farm complex on the middle of wheat fields. The freshly picked grape tomatoes were far sweeter and tastier than anything bought in a store.
Very generous and welcoming hosts!
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Their hearts are as big as the North Dakota sky! They shared their knowledge of the area and vegetables freshly picked from their garden!
We definitely highly recommend these hosts.
Great hosts. Great place to stay. From the minute C& G greeted me when I pulled in till the time I left they treated me like family. Wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend.
Very hospitable family ranch in the range lands of North Dakota. Had a short but really nice stopover on my way west.
Beautiful spot.. beautiful hosts.. worth a trip off route
A fun two evening stay with the very best of hospitality offered. A quiet place, 30 amp available, ability to use water and sewer as needed. We shared drinks, food, and a evening fire with our fine hosts and another couple staying as well. Happy to recommend them highly! They showed us great kindness and privacy as needed. A+++
Great hosts helped us get settled, including making electricity available. Made traveling a gravel road worth it! Trees protected us from the wind, after a beautiful prairie sunset. A quiet night was followed by an owl’s surprise, pheasants and the sight of grazing cows that greeted us in the a.m. We loved it!
Would definitely stay there again.
