We stayed for 2 nights with our 30 ft motorhome. It was easy to find. Ample level space to park in the shade or the sun.

Sandy has a dry sense of humour and almost made us believe we had the wrong place before he relented and made us welcome. Otherwise we did not have a lot of interaction. He is a strong supporter of Boondockers and one of the charter members.

We decided to check out Vancouver Island and realized on the evening ferry that we never made any reservations. Checked trusty ol’ BDW and found Sandy’s place, a bit north of the Nanaimo ferry terminal. He got back to us before the end of the ferry ride and approved our last minute stay for three nights, whew! It was after dark when we arrived and we set up and chatted with our host for a bit. Next morning we chatted more and were given some advice of sights to see. A good jumping off point for a Tofino or mid island adventuring. Wonderful couple! Thanks for hosting us, especially last minute.

This is a good location to explore Vancouver Island with many amazing parks within 2 hours driving. We really appreciated Sandy allowing us to arrive a day early when our plans changed. The spot where we parked was quiet and had easy access. We recommend this location.

This was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome and was quite pleasant. The hosts were very nice, directed us to local activities and sightseeing locations and then just left us on our own to do our own thing. They have a very pleasant dog that greets you when as you come and go, he just wanders up, accepts a quick pat, and wanders away.
