Description

Our home is near Long Island Sound. We are about 1 mile from downtown area (with plenty of restaurant options), the city green, boat harbor and the Metro North train station (about 100 minutes to Grand Central Terminal). Silver Sands State Park is nearby. If our own RV is on the road, we have room for an RV/trailer and tow vehicle. If our RV is at home, we can still accommodate guests but don't have the extra room for a tow vehicle. Water is available but you will need about 50 feet of hose. We have extra garden hose you are welcome to use. Similarly, the 30 amp power will require an extension cord beyond the length that typically comes with the RV.

House Rules

Quiet time after 10pm to be respectful of nearby neighbors.
Please be careful not to block driveway access for the home behind us, which means you cannot park a vehicle on the other side of your trailer or RV, it would need to be between your RV/trailer and our house.
Please clean up after pets.

Access Road Conditions

Two lane residential road to access driveway. Be sure to check your maps as you enter the city. There are some low clearance bridges (one is less than 11 feet) near downtown. Our driveway has some slope, but is definitely manageable with with some leveling blocks.

Tow Vehicle Parking Details

If our RV is also on site, then we will not have room for tow vehicle in addition to a trailer/RV. The maneuverability in the driveway is limited. We have a shared driveway with the home behind us, and so it is important that their access is not hindered.

Great first stay with Boondockers Welcome

We had a fantastic experience. Very friendly host who provided us with electricity. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood but within a short walk of the beach and restaurants. Highly recommend

Really nice spot

The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. Due to unforeseen delays, we arrived after dark and the hosts helped direct us how best to pull our camper into the spot. They offered electric and water setups and were very welcoming and friendly. Very nice area and perfect for what we needed. Would definitely recommend.

Rockett_Pad Rocks

This was our first stay from Boondocker‘s welcome. The Rockett_Pad couple went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Not only did they help us get set up and settled but then they invited us up on their deck for a drink. They live maybe half a mile walk from a beautiful beach where we really enjoyed our time.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Rocket_Pad for your kind hospitality and making our first stay special.🙂

Wonderful night stay

We had a very nice evening relaxing at the Rockett Pad. Wish we could have stayed longer- our hosts were friendly and very helpful in getting us hooked up. We did get a chance to take a short bike to the beach at the end of the block just before sunset (1/2 mile). The weather was perfect for evening stroll through the neighborhood. Wish we could have stayed and chatted more with our host, they were so nice to have us. Boondocker hosts have been extraordinary during this pandemic by hosting nomadic travelers like my wife and I. Thank you both for a pleasant stay, we hope to see you again.

Above and beyond

Simply put - this couple took care of my family like we were rockstars! Not only were they available to answer every query they invited us in and were happy to extend our stay.

There spot is just blocks from the ocean and a ferry ride to Long Island.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

The Rockett Pad rocks!!

We loved staying at Rockett Pad. Our host was so accommodating and kind! The Rockett Pad is located in a beautiful town with cute shops and places to eat just a short walk away. It is also very close to the beach and it was lovely walking down to the shore while we were there. A cute and cuddly cat who is friendly and playful lives at the Rockett Pad so if you are a cat person you will be delighted. I really enjoyed playing with that little guy! We can't thank our host enough for his kind hospitality. Hope to be able to spend time there when we are back in town. Thanks so much!
