Leave a reference for this host*** Quarantine Friendly *** Our home sits on about 2 acres, with our house down a 300' driveway. Our offered RV site is an approximate, 50' x 25', flat, grassy area, alongside a separate 2-bay+ garage, situated less than 100' from the main road. 20a electrical hook-up is available in the garage. The area is generally quiet, though the small town beach a short ride down the road does bring some traffic during summer days. Deer, coyote, fox, raccoons, and miscellaneous critters and birds wander nearby farm and woodlands.
No smoking
No weapons
No generators after 8p
Dogs are welcome, though best that they be leashed while on-site (if we are present, canine guests can use our fenced in backyard)
Water is available, though requires extending hose connection
Our site is only 50' off main road, alongside our flat, shell driveway. Pulling into the driveway should be fairly straightforward. And while small rigs may be able to turn around on-site, large vehicles should be able to easily back out the driveway, onto the main road, with little trouble (with proper traffic spotting).
Should be plenty of space to park next to the rig, as well as detach and turn TV around.
A small town beach is approx. 1.5 miles from the site (easy walk or bike ride), while Horseback Beach State Park is a pleasant 10 mile drive. Buzzards Bay Brewery and Westport Winery are nearby (to which the hosts are happy to direct and join our guests). The village of Padanaram and Apponogansett Harbor are 3 miles from our site, along with several ice cream stands. New Bedford and its famous Whaling Museum and working harbor are a short 20 minute drive. And several protected, public properties with miles of trails are within 1/4 mile. Additionally, several locations to rent, and/or launch kayaks and other small boats, and guests can enjoy biking on our country roads.
Great hosts! Exactly want we needed. Peaceful area to unwind in the fall. Went to some great museums for free using our North American Reciprocal Museum card.

The host are very friendly and accommodating. Nice location, quiet place to stay. We enjoyed meeting the hosts and the kids loved meeting the chickens!
We had a great time staying with the Smith Neck Hosts. The site was great, private and graciously supplied with a 20amp connection. We did some local exploring and had a delightful chat with the hosts. We left with 1/2 dozen eggs from their backyard chickens. These wonderful folks spoke with genuine enthusiasm about their experiences as hosts. So happy to say that for our first BW stay, the experience greatly exceeded our expectations.
We really enjoyed meeting our hosts as they were happy to share information about the area and local attractions. Very friendly folks. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
Enjoyed our stay here so much. Received such a warm welcome and great directions. Area was level and private. Close to many opportunities for sightseeing and learning about the history of our country.
Topped off our visit with an outdoor coffee chat with our hosts. Great, fun couple! Five stars, for sure!
Very private for both host & guest thanks to the long, curving drive & lots of trees. Beautiful setting in the woods, very quiet & hosts are terrific people. We enjoyed a wonderful conversation.
Thank you for the bike ride beach tip as well as the kite flying park we really enjoyed both. Excellent hosts!
We loved our quiet grassy nook, with electric hookup. Our hosts were extremely friendly, communicative and helpful to us campervan newbies. We loved their area, where we enjoyed two days of hiking, biking and beaching. Thanks!
A really great location! There is also ample privacy and an electrical connection that made the whole experience very enjoyable!
We could spend a quiet night at the driveway. Thank you very much for the warming welcome and nice talks in the evening and the morning and for all the tipps we can do in the area. Our first boondocker experience was perfect!
They graciously welcomed us after a request late in the day. Our rig fit perfectly, it was a great and quiet spot to park up for the night. In the morning we had the opportunity to meet and over coffee exchanged travel stories and felt like old friends! Hope to be back again or meet up one day down the road :)
This was simply a super stop for us! Had a great time visiting with our hosts - folks who somehow make you feel like you have been friends for years!!!! It was a priviledge to stay overnight with them.
The host was very considerate and helpful! Even offered electric hookup! Beautiful, peaceful area.
Our hosts were simply incredible, so warm and welcoming! Their home and boondock property is lovely, private, and secure. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet nights and easy access to shops for groceries, coffee, and pet supplies.
We were able to enjoy their residential sandy beach about 1mi away and beautiful public walking trails with our pup. On top of the public spaces they offered us the use of their fully fenced back yard to toss the ball around.
We can't say enough good things about our stay!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Smith Neck. The scenery is fantastic , the road was convenient and safe to bike into the village. The area that we we parked at was secluded and quiet for a peaceful stay. Thank you, Bob N Susan.
Arrived Friday afternoon for an overnight stay. Wish we could have stayed longer as the location was perfect to take in bike riding along the beautiful Dartmouth country roads and seaside. Our host greeted us after our arrival and made sure we had anything we needed, offered an electrical hookup, and gave us directions to the local brewery we were headed out to. Although the the site is not far off the main road we found it very peaceful and tranquil. Got a tour of their new teardrop which is a cousin to ours :-). We enjoyed exchanging details about our RVs and talked about our past trips and upcoming travel plans. A very pleasent stay and look forward to returning:-) Thank you Smith Neck Resort for making our first Boondockers Welcome stay great!
