Lacking in ambiance but convenient to DC.
The space is a paved driveway which is about 1/8th of a mile from the DC border. The driveway is fairly narrow and the turn into it is tight so anything larger than a camper van or the smallest class C would not be advisable. Being an urban-ish driveway there isn't much privacy for the vehicle. The driveway is in direct sun. Please check out the driveway photos in the listing.
I have a large, securely fenced backyard which you and your dog-friendly pet(s) are welcome to use. The mosquitos here are relentless, so if you plan to spend time in the yard be prepared with mosquito repellent.
Within walking distance are a small organic grocery store, a juice bar, a vegan cafe, a Mediterranean restaurant, and a few carry-out options. The neighborhood is diverse and the street is busy with both vehicular and pedestrian activity.
Two dogs live here - they are friendly with people and other dogs, not so much with cats.
I work from home so am likely to be available most of the time. That being said, I am happy to respect your privacy and will endeavor to not be intrusive!
Adults only. Two people maximum. Quiet hours 9pm-8am. No use of generators during quiet hours. No use of backyard after 9pm (ok to allow your pets in the yard for a potty break during quiet hours, but please try to keep noise to a minimum). Absolutely no smoking on property.
A reasonable amount of trash and recycling may be placed in my bin (please do not fill to overflowing).
Check-in after 1pm.
Check-out by 11am.
My house is directly on a street, so paved roads all the way.
On the street around the corner. Not visible from my house, but I have never had any problems. It is actually legal to park on the street directly across from my house, but I would not recommend it as the street is fairly narrow for the amount of traffic and sometimes the parked cars get scraped by passing vehicles. You can decide for yourself. :-)
All the monuments, memorials and museums of Washington, DC! Annapolis, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Baltimore are each about 45 minutes away.
Easy to find, this is set in a quiet diverse community. Trish was so pleasant,a treat after a long haul drive today. Wish we could have stayed longer, perfect to discover DC.
Thanks so much X
TrishN was so warm and welcoming! We loved talking with her, and getting to know her and her sweet dogs. She made our stay in the Washington DC area very memorable. Not far to the museums/natl monuments, and good access to public transportation. This was our very first Boondockers welcome stay, and we couldn't have been happier. Hope our paths cross again...........once again, thank you so much TrishN!
Trish is a very friendly and welcoming person. Her driveway is quiet at night and a perfect place to stay for visiting DC. Less than a mile walking to the bus station. Metrobus G8 brings you for 2 $ in 45 minutes to downtown.
Thank you Trish for the great opportunity to stay with our rig so comfortable!
Our host was very welcoming and helped us before we even arrived! The location is perfect for public transport into DC and its a quiet neighbourhood.
Our host also kept in touch when we were "too quiet" haha! She wanted to make sure we were OK, and it made us feel very looked after!
Thank you for having us, if we're in the neighbourhood we'll pop by for sure!
We stayed with TrishN for three nights. She’s a really nice, friendly down to earth person. She really went above and beyond her host requirements to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us some great advice on travelling in to Washington and the Annapolis area. We enjoyed her company on the back deck in the evening and loved meeting her three dogs. Five gold stars for Trish!
