Quiet location with amazing hosts

Such a great location with great hosts. Mike and Ellie were awesome. We had a choice of where to park (there are so many great locations). Rubble Wall Farm is at the top of a wooded hill that opens to a gigantic field that is home to quite a few deer that decided to show themselves in the evening and in the mornings.
We were up to visit our youngest at UMO, but managed to fit in a nice walk around the boardwalk in Belfast on Saturday.
There are some nice walks along the road and driveway in a well as an unmaintained road into the woods. The Rubble Wall is visible along the driveway, perhaps 12’ to the North a bit.
The location is absolutely perfect for so many quiet activities. The lack of proximity to any major urban area gave way to simply gorgeous views of the night sky, Saturday evenIng was cloudless, moonless, and crisp. I had a lot of trouble concentrating on walking our dog with my head tilted up towards the sky. Next trip, I will bring a telescope.
We were invited to a pot luck dinner Saturday night with Mike and Ellie’s friends, great food, great people, and great stories to hear.

Beautiful Views and Friendly Hosts

This is a great location to hide out and enjoy all the Maine woods have to offer. Getting there requires some ups and downs and arounds so, be sure your brakes are working correctly. Tons of space to stretch out and hosts are very accommodating. Highly recommended, if you need some quite time!

Peaceful

Rubble Wall Farm is peaceful & quiet. The epitome of why we love to boondock!! The three amigos (wild turkeys), a family of deer and beautiful wooded scenery. Our hosts are wonderful & warm, sharing fresh veggies from the garden, area suggestions & themselves. We really enjoyed getting to know them both & sharing a delicious meal. Do stop here if you’re in the area.

Beautiful, Rural Maine

We enjoyed our stay at this location. There were a variety of places to park, and our host was helpful in assisting us in choosing the best spot. Their restaurant recommendation was wonderful and really appreciated. The extra touch of the garden fresh vegetables was so thoughtful!
My tips: When backing into your spot, watch out for the oak tree. Also this is a great location if you are visiting Bar Harbor/Acadia.

Wonderful location

Quiet, in the country, on a hill, this is an amazing place. The hosts were welcoming, gracious and friendly. Barred owl calling at night, a variety of songbirds during the day.
A well-maintained dirt road so no worries about access.

Heaven on a hill top

Parked under some birch trees and currently listening to the wind rustling through them. They are the best. Welcoming. Friendly. Awesome. They have a piece of paradise up on the hill an easy drive up a very well maintained dirt road. Easy access. They are more than generous. We shared a couple meals together and enjoyed each other's company. We talked, played cribbage and laughed. Never having met them before, I think we are leaving as friends.
