Sunset Ridge is about 500 feet above the Erie Canal. There are 40 acres here in the various stages of development. We feature hiking trails, wetlands, forestation, preservation, and the beginnings of wildflower pollinator project thru DEC
We are located on the Erie Canal, and Lake Ontario, Canandaigua and Seneca are each about 20 miles away. There is a popular wine trail and a beer trail around Seneca Lake. Palmyra is the home of the Mormon religion.
There are many fine restaurants and a Wegmans grocery nearby.
Take a breath of fresh country air and visit the Finger Lakes region. We would love to meet you.
This is a smoke free, chemical free property.
The roads in this area are all blacktop. There is a pull thru parallel to the road that works for all vehicles. There is a driveway about 100 yards and gravel with a slight upgrade that may cause a larger unit to hit bottom, so a limit of 30' in this spot is to protect your RV and the driveway.
If you are arriving from Rt 31 or south, there are several bridges over the Erie Canal and you will need to cross one of them. The best are located in Newark and Palmyra.
Spring 2021 there is a short detour that is clearly marked
There are 2 spots here.
One is The UPPER (or West) driveway is next to a field and about 100 yards long. It has a sharp turn/bump to navigate so your RV/Motorhome must be less than a total of 30 feet including tow vehicle or the tow vehicle may need to disconnect to be parked in the driveway.
The other place is a PULL THRU that is parallel to the road (between the road and field on the ridge) about 100 yards long
Available spring, summer and fall. Someone is usually around to welcome you.
The Erie Canal is a short hike from your parking space. Canandaigua Lake is 15 miles and Seneca Lake is about 18 miles and Lake Ontario is 20 miles north on Rt 21 or Rt 88 So we have a lot of water!!! There are museums, wineries, casinos, great restaurants, fine dining, orchards and vineyards and many waterways and lakes. The closest local attraction is Hill Cumorah home of the Mormon religion.
Host was most accommodating and pleasant Wonderful to meet you and your friends Enjoyed sitting on your porch, the deer and the evening ride. So glad I chose to stop Thanks for hosting
Enjoyed our stay. Worked for us. Sorry we got there later to visit. Hope to catch up on another stay in the future. Thanks again for offering us to stay longer.
This was our 1st boondockers welcome stay. It was wonderful. The host made us feel right at home and offered us electricity and water. Awesome view of the deer in the field. We would definitely stay there again! Beautiful trail to the Erie Canal just a short distance away. Lake Ontario was only 30 mins away. Great location! Finger Lakes is easily accessible as well with a beautiful drive through the farmlands.
Lots of common experiences to talk about. We felt right at home here.
An enjoyable stay at Kt.inthebreeze. Our host was very accommodating of our needs, and the site very easily met the needs of our teardrop camper. She also shared her plans on developing her many acres, for both wildflowers fields to an expanded boondocks sites that will take full advantage of the evening sunset. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.
We stayed one night with Kt, who replied within an hour. Got electricity and water and a quiet night in the country.
But more - we got to know Kt's and her friends, over a music & food fair in Newark, near by. Very nice and welcoming lady.
I enjoyed my stay and chat with Linda at her rural home. Safe off leash fun for my dog and quiet night's rest. Fun meeting another person with similar likes and travel experiences. I recommend you try to stop by and stay with kt.inthebreeze.
Overall our stay was great, within short driving distance to historical sites around Palmyra and wonderful host. Watched a deer out in the field while walking the dog the first morning.
The entrance was narrow and we backed in from the uphill side which made for low ground clearance for the trailer bumper. Plenty of room for our truck and 34’ TT though.
FYI-We also noticed that the bridge on Galloway road is limited to 5 tons, so don’t recommend going in from the west.
