We are located about 80 miles north/west of Yosemite National Park, and also about 80 miles from Sacramento CA, the state Capital. We are on a 21 acre farm, between the towns of Riverbank CA and Oakdale CA.
Our RV space is in a separate area of the ranch. We have 15 acres planted in walnut trees, with a 1/2 mile circular road for walking around the tree farm, as long as the farmer is not actively working with the trees.
We have several cats. Pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash when outside your RV. There is a large dog park about 2 miles away, and our farm borders a local railroad track so you will hear and see a few local trains. We have a 1/4 acre pond stocked for catch & release fishing - no guests allowed in the pond area without specific permission, or in the barns. If you plug into our 50 amp or 30 amp power, please be prepared to donate towards our utilities. You are welcome to use our dump station and also hook up to our well water supply, no donation needed for those items.
There are four homes on our 21 acre farm, each with separate driveways. If your stay request is approved, please refer to the Farm Map image that marks which of the four driveways you need to use to enter the RV staging area. If you would like to have a larger image of that map, I will need your email address.
Guests are requested to respect the private areas of the homes. We have a community park area that we all use for relaxing, watching sunsets, having a campfire, or just socializing with each other. We are politically conservative, so if that bothers you we will refrain from any political comments.
If you choose to connect to our electric 50 amp service, please consider offering a reasonable reimbursement for our power expense.
No off-leash or barking dogs.
No guests around the pond without specific permission.
Respect the privacy of the four homes on the farm.
No entry into any of the barns.
No smoking except within the guest's RV.
We are located on a county road between Riverbank and Oakdale California. Access to the RV space is via a circular driveway with pull-through access back to our main road. The county road is two lane and paved. Our circular driveway is road base, and the RV space is level gravel. The RV space will require using several normally closed gates in order to pull straight through to exit back to the county road. Motorhomes can either pull straight in to face north or back in to face south. Trailers and 5th wheels will find it easier to just plan to drive straight through and face north, so backing up to leave won't be necessary.
We require that you arrive during daylight hours. Be aware that the access driveway is narrow and to make the 90 degree turn to enter from the road, it will be necessary to be heading northbound, and to keep to the far right edge of the road as you begin the turn into the driveway, as there is a fence along the south side of the driveway, and trees and railroad ties along the north side. Small rigs will be fine but larger rigs and especially 5th wheel rigs need to approach with caution.
There is space near the RV area to park a tow vehicle. We can actually accommodate a 45 ft RV towing a vehicle.
We are a bit spontaneous about our travel dates so be sure to check with us as early as you can to see what our schedule is. We do require that we be home during your visit.
Yosemite National Park, Sacramento, San Francisco, Modesto, Woodward Reservoir, Columbia Historic Gold Mine town, Sonora Gold Rush era town, Jamestown Train Museum, many local wineries within an hour's drive.
Boondockers Welcome seems to attract some of the best people and the folks from Wagner Farm are no exception. It was raining when we arrived but our hosts still came out to greet us and be sure we settled in. The following morning was beautiful and we had a delightful visit on their covered patio. What a lovely farm. What wonderful, kind, and bright people! We felt like we'd made new friends and hope to be able to visit with them again some day.
Our hosts were warm wonderful folk, attentive to every detail!
This stay was perfect. They responded fast and were accomodating of our inexact arrival time.
We were met upon arrival and ensured that we had everything we needed. Including power and water! And even helped me out with some tools.
The couple was super nice and i wish we got to chat some more during our stay.
We visited yosemite from their spot.
If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay again!
The owners are wonderful people, helpful, knowledgable, and genuinely nice to be around. I would stop in here anytime I was in the area.
We have to thank our wonderful and kind host for this unforgettable stay during which we've got the chance to also meet their fantastic neighbours around a nice evening fire. We've had very interrresting conversations and D and M had a lot of good and useful advices for our RV trip in US as they are active RViers themselves.
Wagner farm is a peaceful place to stay and our kids had a lot of fun playing with their neighbour's 2 kids, hiking around the property and petting the barn cat!
We really hope to get the chance to see D and M again, maybe on our trip in US or anywhere else!
Highly recommend this place.
Staying at Oakdale Farm was an incredible experience! This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome, and boy, did Oakdale Farm set the bar high. Both hosts are warm, friendly and know exactly what you need to have a comfortable stay. They are truly some of the kindest people we've ever met and we can't wait to get back on their BEAUTIFUL property. It's been weeks since we were there and we still can't stop talking about it. THANK YOU!
Our hosts were so welcoming and their farm is charming. There are several neighbors in the area and all were polite and friendly. We enjoyed seeing the horses and watching all the hummingbirds.
Donna and Mike are superior citizens and we enjoyed visiting with them on a wide variety of topics. They were completely there for us, but were not at all intrusive. They greeted us, helped us get settled and then left us alone. They also let us know they had evening gatherings that we were welcome to attend or not. To me it was the perfect blend of friendly, not nosey.
Our parking spot faced North which was perfect for us to leave our front window open yet still have privacy. We weren't crowded in the area at all, but it was nice to have a separate spot between a backyard and shop. The grounds were colorful and there were parklike seating areas so enjoy the sunsets.
This was our first boondocks welcome experience, and we couldn't have been more pleased.
Mike and Donna have a wonderful place to stay and are very accommodating and helpful. A nicer couple and place to stop you will not find.
My husband and I stayed at Wagner Farm for 2 nights on our way to San Francisco from the Yosemite area. The Wagners are wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with them. We were taking advantage of a couple of days to rest before continuing our journey so we didn't get to see the surrounding area as much as we would have liked. We will DEFINITELY be back to this location whenever we are in the area again. It is a very peaceful environment but close enough to the major stores if needed. Having 50 amp electric, water, and a sewer connection was a very nice bonus as well. Don't miss stopping at this fabulous location and meeting these wonderful people!
I can't say enough nice things about this Host, both husband and wife are wonderful people and they have a wonderful spot to stay. Easy to get into with all the hookups a person could need. If you just need a place to park for the night that's ok too. It's in the country, just out of town. They are avid RV'ers themselves so they know what you need yet allow you your privacy too. Perfect place to stay, I will contact them again when I'm in this area.
