This country retreat is on 4 acres with picturesque views of rolling hills, woodlands, and wetlands. We are just steps away from the National Scenic Ice Age Trail which has great birdwatching, hiking and abundant wildlife to observe.
We ask that you observe a quiet time between 10 pm and 8 am. Maximum length of stay can be negotiated. We have a dog that plays well with others, and ask that if you have dogs they do also.
Access roads are all blacktop. There are rolling hills in the area which are easily traveled.
Tow vehicles can park next to your rig. Lots of room!
Local attractions include Elkhart Lake with it’s Road America race track, great restaurants, beautiful beach, quaint downtown and small town friendliness. The area is also known for its golf courses, fishing, arts, and recreation. We are an hours drive away from Green Bay and Lambeau Field, Milwaukee and Summerfest, also Oshkosh and EAA.
Our stay at Skywood provided us with some much need relaxation before our next big trip. The view from where we parked was beautiful. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Their sweet dog was a great playmate for our lab! We enjoyed walking the property's mowed paths and the nearby Ice Age trail. Added bonus - great connectivity with Verizon and T-Mobile. Highly recommend if in the area!
We really enjoyed hearing and seeing the Sandhill Cranes in the area :)
This location was wonderful in every way. Their home is so unique, and the dog is the sweetest. Thank you so much to these amazing hosts for allowing us to extend our stay. It’s been so relaxing!
The hosts of Skywood could not be more warm and giving. Add it all together, the incredibly unique house, the awesome natural setting and their super laid back demeanor and you get a one of a kind experience!
Everyone should be so lucky to cross paths with wonderful people like these hosts and I count myself as one of the lucky who have.
Thank you for opening your home and your hearts to me, I won't soon forget the hospitality.
Skywood is a little piece of heaven. It is quiet and scenic and the hosts are exceptionally kind. Their pup is super fun and easy to play with if you have a friendly pup as well!!
We enjoyed our 2-day stay at the peaceful Skywood. We had a wonderful visit with our friendly hosts and enjoyed hearing about their home and adventures. The Elkhart Lake area is nice, and there are lots of small towns in the area to check out. We highly recommend them and look forward to a future visit.
Marvelous hosts. Very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Agape, the dog, was friendly and well-behaved. Definitely would stay again!
This was our first boondockers welcome spot and it couldn’t have been more perfect!
They were so welcoming and kind, told us where we could find and pick fresh berries and the property itself is gorgeous! We loved our stay here.
Great experience as the host met us as we pulled in. I have a 20' truck pulling a 28' trailer and there was plenty of room to get situated by backing in, or utilizing the mowed yard to flip around. We only stayed for a night, but it was a great place for us. I played golf while she explored the area and I can't wait to come back to the area. I would stay at the hosts place again if it's an option in the future.
This was a fantastic spot to relax, and will most certainly go back to spend more time. Had a few glitches with my camper and scheduling, and my host was very patient with me while I got it sorted out. Wonderful, welcoming person and so easy to talk to!
Plenty of room for large or small rigs, nice grassy areas, and spectacular views of the sunset. Fell asleep listening to the peepers, night birds, and yapping coyotes. Very tranquil and beautiful. Can’t wait to go back and learn more about this site!
What a charming couple and peaceful/beautiful location and area! Precisely what I needed. Many parking choices, many electric and water choices, great views across rolling farmland, virtually no noise or annoyances. What more can one ask for? And the hosts were super sweet and helpful. Ice Age Trail is literally steps away (but keep in mind the Trail isn’t yet contiguous in this area and requires using low traffic roads to connect sections) and the town of Elkhart Lake is super charming. I had a nice 12 mile bicycle ride around town on Easter. Barely saw any motor vehicles but did see a dozen or more other cyclists.
We had some snow the day of our arrival. The owners were great with snow removal and communication. We were able to get a nice hike in walking from our spot. Highly recommend this host!
This host's home and property is so unique and absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of room to park (area for pull through) and amazing stars at night. Host was quick to respond and very accomodating. Our pup LOVED playing with the super friendly host dog. We would love to stay again next time we are in the area! Thank you!
Thank you very much for your genuine hospitality. This was my first stop continuing my travels and it was a wonderful experience. Absolutely beautiful location and I really enjoyed my hike on Ice Age Trail. The tomatoes are amazing! Thanks,
We enjoyed our stay with this couple so much. Their land is stunning and private yet you connect to a great trail and you’re 5 minutes from downtown with all of the dining, shops and activities. They assisted us with getting our big rig parked. Our children loved playing with their dog and they were both so kind and patient. I hope we make it back to this beautiful area again!
These were the nicest people, and their property is lovely. So very quiet, and a nice level spot with electrical hookup to boot. We will come back if we are in this area again! Thank you!
The hosts were super friendly and accomodating. I'd recommend staying here to anyone.
The host's home is very unique construction, and they are happy to share about it. There are awesome views from their hilltop location. Portions of the Ice Age Trail are super close, although watch out for the deer flies! We did manage to find a section of the trail that was about a mile away that was nearly deer fly free. https://www.iceagetrail.org/
T-Mobile users: Service in this entire area is marginal at best.
Beautiful stay at Skywood. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay at Skywood again.
I stayed 2 nights, very quiet sleeping spot. Beautiful 🌅 sunsets close to Road America. Good conversation with host each evening. Thanks for the stay.
What kind hosts, what breathtaking views! We feel so lucky to have found this spot in such a beautiful part of Wisconsin. We got to see an amazing sunset on your hill. Many thanks.
Beautiful views all directions. Nice level spot for motorhome and tow vehicle. Hiking trail nearby.
Easy communications with the host. Their spot is on the top of a hill good viewing point. When we arrived the host showed us elect. Hook up had a little trouble with WiFi we said it was okay but they were diligent and we had a good signal to use. Took a long drive in the countryside. Rolling hills and farms on every other hillside. Enjoyed our short stay maybe will be able to extend it next time.
Thanks, for sharing with us Monroe
We had a very good night, despite showers and thunder.
In the morning we had a nice chat and learned about the design of their house
Thanks for staying
Mia & Clemens
Met new warm and welcoming friends, had a beautiful place to stay, and our pup even had a friendly playmate!
Truly a fantastic stay. The wonderful host was very helpful getting our big rig turned around. Would stay again in a heartbeat if we find ourselves back in the area!
Really were encouraged to make ourselves at home and we did.
Had much in common and enjoyed ourselves more than any other stopover in ages. Quiet night and great weather plus excellent hospitality to top it off. Even loved their Agape.
We spent 3 great nights at Skywood. There was plenty of room in the yard to turn around our 36’ 5th wheel before parking on the edge of the driveway. The driveway is lined with trees, which provide welcome shade in the morning. Beyond the driveway, the view opens up to beautiful rolling hills.
Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. The weather was quite hot during our stay, and they kindly offered the use of an electric hook up. We spent a bit of time visiting, learning about the construction of their unique stacked cordwood home. They also had great recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area; we were pleasantly surprised by how much the little town of Elkhart Lake had to offer.
We would stay at Skywood again.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this location. The hosts were great - we would return if passing through the area again. Hoping to hook up with the hosts in the future when they begin traveling.
Perfect place to stop for the night. Look out over the rolling farmland, bird watch, hike the ice age trail. More like a vacation spot than a stopover. Very kind and welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend this spot.
