Happy campers retired and traveling the country Details: Retired married couple with four grown children, we built our home in the mountains about 13 years ago. We have been in Colorado for over 35 years and love to hike, kayak, camp in our teardrop trailer, and bicycle on Rails-to-Trails and other established bike paths. When traveling we enjoy out-of-the-way places steeped in history, old roller coasters and carousels. Home Town: Manitou Springs, Colorado Favorite Boondocking Locations: National park, forest service and Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds; we have also found some wonderful gems at the many National Monument campgrounds. Skills or Expertise to Share: We have lived in the Colorado Springs area for over 20 years and have extensive knowledge of hiking trails in this area.

What a friendly man Bob is, we loved chatting with him upon our arrival. Tedi was great at providing answers to all my questions before we came! The views along the drive up were breathtaking and worth the curves. We would love to visit again!

We were only able to stay for one night, but were very impressed by the thorough pre-stay communication, beautiful drive up the mountain, and friendly hospitality. We had a lovely night getting to know our hosts and a great stay!

I was a bit nervous reading the reviews about the drive up the mountain, but I had no issues in my 24ft rig! And the drive to the top is absolutely beautiful. Bob and Teddy were so kind and invited me on a beautiful hike of the surrounding area. I would recommend this stay to anyone! A quiet and peaceful getaway.

My fingers were numb with fright by the time I got there but I’m so glad I hadn’t figured out I would be zig-zagging up a mountain for 5 miles. I’m scared of heights & never would have stayed at this wonderful place had I known. Great conversation, wonderful traveling advice and lots to do & see in town. Don’t let a fear of heights stop you. BTW, it was wonderful coming back down. This couple is on my “visit again” list.
