House Rules

No smoking. Period. You are in the woods! Dogs on leash or under your strict control at all times. We have a fenced yard for our own dog which you are welcome to share for off-leash times. No generators (should not be necessary since we can provide power). Children are welcome but must be closely supervised-- there is water, poison ivy, and a garage full of tools nearby. As you can see, there is plenty of open space if you want to set up lawn chairs, or bocci or other outdoor games. We are friendly but fairly quiet and prefer similar.

Avid VW campers Details: We are a retired couple. We have travelled extensively in the US and Canada in our VW Westfalia. We enjoy hosting others at our home. We are both double vaccinated with boosters and welcome guests who are the same. We have immune compromised family members so are trying to stay as safe as possible. Home Town: The nearest community to us is Mahone Bay, a well-known tourist town on the south shore of Nova Scotia. We are approximately 15 minutes from there. We are within half an hour of Lunenburg and Bridgewater. We are in a very pretty wooded rural setting on a small river. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We enjoy boondocking at government wharves in Atlantic Canada. Skills or Expertise to Share: David is skilled at making small RV and VW van repairs.

Right across from the river they have a nice cement pad to park on, with water and electric hookups. Laundry andshowers were offered as well, but not used. chatted a bit with David who is very knowledgable about camping in Nova Scotia. Spent a quiet night and would definetely go back if in the area.

Although we arrived quite late at night both hosts came out to greet us and help us get parked, offering showers, laundry, electric and extension leads, after a quiet night we were invited in for coffee and cake - our grandaughter thoroughly enjoyed meeting Buddy, and listening to Robin play the harp for her. David has a wealth of knowledge on RV repairs and improvements which he willingly shared, we were sorry we had to leave to catch the ferry as we would have like to spend longer talking to them.

David and Robin were super hosts. We especially appreciated them letting extend our stay. Sharing stories over a cup of tea brought welcome laughs!

We have met so many lovely people during our travels, but we feel blessed to have met Robin & David. How grateful we are that they accepted our stay request at their beautiful home near Mahone Bay. The location, well, it was perfect. The site involved minimal set up on a paved area. Their parklike setting was close to water & electricity. Our hosts were the epitome of kindness and generosity. To sit with them and chat was one of our favourite parts of the visit. Both are fascinating individuals with a wealth of knowledge to share with fellow travellers. Robin & David, thank you so much for such a wonderful stay.

We stayed here a few weeks ago and I am just now getting caught up with my reviews! We very much appreciated the chance to stay at the acreage. There was lots of parking space, and the generosity of our hosts was outstanding. It is such a lovely setting, and our dog loved the woods to play in. We were invited to use the laundry which was a godsend and in addition our fridge propane malfunction was repaired, which made a huge difference to the rest of our travels. Many thanks for your hospitality and generosity.
