We are located on the Northeast Cape Fear River at a depth of about 30'. We are currently living in our camper on the property due to the flooding after Hurricane Florence. RV living is a way of life that we're really starting to love and want to be able to share our home with others.

Depending on where you park you may have access to water, sewer and electric. Let us know what your needs are and we will do what we can to accommodate.

We offer great views, good fishing and a dock to swim from or to tie off a boat, canoe or kayak. There is a very nice boat launch just a few minutes by both car and boat.

We have a bonfire ring and use it frequently and would love for you to join us.

We have 2 older dogs that we generally allow off leash but with very little effort can keep them contained for your stay. We also have 2 deer that frequent our runoff gully most mornings as well as other wildlife in the area.

On clear nights a sighting of the Milky Way is not uncommon.

We are quite far out in the country so cell phone and internet service can be bad. I have Verizon and can get cell service in most places on the property but it is not 100% reliable.

House Rules

We have young children so we ask for guests to quiet down after 10PM.
Please text us on the day you arrive with your estimated time of arrival so that we can make sure we are home and our dogs are put inside to help get you situated.
Depending on where you park you may have access to water, sewer and electric.

Access Road Conditions

We live about a mile down a dirt road that is two and a half cars wide so maneuverability shouldn't be a problem, just take it slow. There is also a loop at the bottom of the road so turning around is a breeze.

Tow Vehicle Parking Details

We have plenty of space on the property or you can park on the road if it is easier for you to park there. The lot is large and there are multiple spots to park depending on the size of the rig, that said, backing your rig is necessary if you are wanting the water and electric hookups.

Wonderful Family at Riverfront Adventure

My son Mike and I enjoyed our five days with the owners of Riverfront Adventures and their delightful daughters! Their property sits on the river and Matt took us for a leisurely boat ride one afternoon.

My son Mike shared later evening camp fires with the hosts and we both shared dinner with the family our last evening . Lauren & Matt were amazing hosts and Mike and I both were entertained by the three adorable little girls.

A relaxing and tranquil stay, we will be returning to very soon.

If you are traveling with children, the will love this place! 🥰🥰🥰

Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay so much! We had help fixing some things in our Airstream, went on a couple boat rides, played, had a couple dinners together, and enjoyed their company, property, and generosity. Super nice people!

Sharing Couple Sharing Space

This rustic boondock site provided a quiet getaway from the busy highways. The location is 1 mile down a dirt road, so go slow. The host couple is in the midst of renovating their space after a 25' flood of the adjacent river. They have a wealth of experience on tiny house construction and RV maintenance. We were provided 30 power to get our batteries recharged. We use Verizon wireless which was sketchy at this location. My phone Google Pixel 3A worked fine, my wife's Samsung 8 struggled. Good experience as we explore using cell signals on the road. Very helpful and friendly hosts.

Great Hosts

Our host met us to guide us in. Great location to Topsail Island. The little girls and dogs were friendly. Having an rv dump electric and water were a great help. They invited us to dinner but we weren't available. If you are in this area we recommend staying here.

Beautiful primitive site with hook ups!

Had an enjoyable short stay with Iphickey. We toured his property on the riverfront and saw the progress being made on his “little house” with the cypress he harvests and mills himself. Took advantage of his kind offer of 30 amp power, which was clean. We weren’t in need of the dump station he was also willing to make available. The drive in along the hard-packed dirt road was no challenge, and even my inexperience backing my 35’ fifth wheel didn’t hinder me from getting into or out of the spot he guided me to.

My sincere thanks for accepting our very last minute request to stay. An earnest, kind, and self sufficient individual we had the good fortune of meeting.

Very Welcoming Family

What an amazing family! They were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The kids were so sweet and kept my dogs occupied well into the evening. Weather was nice enough that we enjoyed some conversation and time around the fire as well.

Unfortunately my internet was spotty and I was unable to stay as long as I had planned. My phone worked just fine, but since I work from the road I had to continue my journey after just one night. (Verizon)

Matt was so helpful, aired up my tires before taking off, provided some tips with some RV maintenance I need to complete. Meeting people and families just like these are why I do boondockers welcome.

Thank you for opening up your home to me and showing me around. I appreciate your generosity and wish you and your family only the best!

Accommodating fellow RVers is a priority

The couple that created River Front Adventure are great to share their property with fellow RVers. They let us know a few days ahead of time that our visit was going to coincide with the unexpected early arrival of their new baby. Most people would probably cancel incoming guests in a case like this, but not these two. Amazing. We were welcomed and helped onto the property before they dashed off to the hospital; they even sent a relative the next day to make sure we had everything we needed! We spent one lovely down-time day catching up on home projects and relaxing. Then spent the next day at nearby Kure Beach attending the Cape Fear Kite Fest. River Front Adventure is a relaxing away-from-it-all location easily accessible to any size rig. The mile-long road off the highway is compacted sand that appears smooth, but is actually pretty bumpy unless you take your time and take it slow. Backing our 40' motorhome was a bit challenging but, thankfully, hubby is a master when it comes to backing. Our only regret is that we didn't get to know this family and their pups as well as we desired. We'll have to make a point of crossing paths in the future so we can do just that.

Easy, peaceful spot

We are staying at a lot of RV parks on our trip, so I always appreciate the opportunity to be on open property and not in rows! We just stopped over one night on a travel day, but my kids really enjoyed playing out here, it was peaceful, and it was nice to have electric hook-ups and not need our generator at all. There are nice tall trees all around in addition to the river. They had options for water and to dump if needed. The owners have a lot of projects going-- we appreciated seeing their resourcefulness and ingenuity from rewiring kids' Power Wheels to building a tiny home. One of the dogs is territorial so be sure your own is ok being inside if you are traveling with a pet. We enjoyed Wilmington, NC on our way here-- Cape Fear Museum and some great playgrounds/parks as well as a Trader Joe's.

Spent 3 nights while doing day trips to Southport & Jacksonville. Very nice family. Matthew even gave us a boat ride on the Cape Fear river. All you need for boondocking.

A little piece of paradise!

This was our very first BW experience, and my goodness! The hosts were very gracious and helpful, and patient with this newbie. Their girls and my kids played wonderfully together, and their dogs were so fun to have around. The property is beautiful and peaceful!

Quick Stop

We needed a quick stop over and they were very accommodating. Road in is rough in spots but wide and just fine if you take it slow. We missed the turn around and Matthew and another neighbor were there to help us negotiate. Everyone was very friendly and we were disappointed to turn down a hang at their fire, as we were exhausted. Would definitely stop back on our way through again.
