Our ranch consists of 1300 acres and sits high on a hill with views of mountains, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It is very quiet and peaceful. We are a working cattle ranch. If time allows, we can tour you around and you can feed a cow out of your hand as long as we are with you. Lots of deer living on our property and other wildlife, i.e., turkeys, rabbits, wild pigs, fox, skunks, raccoons, lots of nature. Indians used to live here so if you go out walking, you might stumble across an arrowhead or other artifacts of days gone by. There’s a swing in the tree for the kiddos and when fire bans are lifted we have a big fire pit in the back pasture and tons of wood to burn! Suggested Local Attractions: *Sunsets and sitting around the fire ring is enjoyable here. * Robert Lee has a nice 9 hole country golf course at the city park area. $20./person. Put money in envelope and help yourself to a cart. There’s a swimming pool on site. *Fort Chadbourne is a short 25 min drive from the ranch and well worth a visit. *Lake Spence Reservoir is the biggest lake in Texas. Enjoy kayaking, boating, swimming, picnicking, hiking, or just taking in a beautiful sunset. *San Angelo is a 50 minute scenic drive. Visit the Concho River, eat some wonderful Mexican food, visit a cattle auction. The list of things to do here is endless. *The largest rattlesnake roundup is held in Sweetwater, TX the second weekend of March each year if you happen to be coming through then. It includes viewing, seminars, food, local vendors, queen pageant etc. NOTE: WE TRAVEL SPRING INTO THE FIRST OF FALL SO IF YOU SEE THE CALENDAR BLOCKED OFF THAT IS PROBABLY A BIG PART OF UNAVAILABLE TIME SLOTS. THE RV AREAS ARE USED BY WORK CAMPERS AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS WHILE WE ARE ON THE ROAD.

House Rules

Common sense stuff. Keep it the way you found it, take all your trash with you. No cigarette butts on the ground. Keep control of your pets. They can run free out here during the day but please keep an eye on them. There's a dump station about 5 miles from our property at Lake Spence Reservoir. We have 50 amp electric with water. If you need 30 amp, be sure you bring your dogbone. If you want to boondock with no hookups, we have plenty of room for that as well. Be CAREFUL when out walking and keep an eye out for snakes, especially in warmer weather. We don't see many on our place, but we do catch a couple each year so just be mindful if you're out walking.

Nice large parking area that is reasonably level. We had some good conversations with Mark and felt at home on his property. He has a large covered area on the barn that we were next to that would be great to sit in during a rainy stay and still enjoy being outside.

Sorry to have to cancel, but we needed to plan our travels to catch a flight at DFW airport. Maybe next time in Texas.
