Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostProperty is located about 2 miles off of I-20 and has easy on/off access. There are two truck stops very close, Love's & T/A & both have dump stations. Walmart is about 4-5 miles from us. Our property is 50 acres and sits high on a hill with views of 9 mile mountain, wind turbines galore and beautiful West TX sunsets. It is very quiet and peaceful. We have deer that live on our property and you'll see them come up in the morning and evening to feed. Lots of jack rabbits, raccoons, occasional bobcats/wild pigs/skunks, and lots of nature here. We have a great basketball area you're welcome to use. Also have lots of place for your children to ride bikes and play on the dirt pile with lots of vintage Tonka trucks onsite they can use.
Common sense stuff. Keep it the way you found it, take all your trash with you. No cigarette butts on the ground. Keep control of your pets. They can run free out here during the day but please keep an eye on them. Love's has a dump station, don't drain any of your tanks on the property. We have 50 amp electric with water for one RV, other area can hook to water only. If you want to boondock with no hookups, we have plenty of room for that as house sits on 50 acres of rolling hills. Be CAREFUL when out walking and keep an eye out for snakes, especially in warmer weather. We don't see many on our place, but we do catch a couple each year so just be mindful if you're out walking.
Very easy entry. Our driveway consists of rock and concrete. There are a couple hills to climb to get to where you will stay.
tow vehicle can stay attached or you may park next to your rig
We travel quite a lot during the year so this location may be blocked off for a period of time until our return.
Sunsets and sitting around the fire ring is enjoyable here. The WASP world war II Museum is located just across the highway. VFW holds monthly dances with live music on the biggest & best dance floor around. You can check their facebook page for dates/times/information. The largest rattlesnake roundup is held in Sweetwater the second weekend of March each year and includes viewing, seminars, food, local vendors, queen pageant etc. Most popular ladies shopping around here is Gypsy Jangle located downtown Sweetwater and Vickie's Gifts in Roscoe which is about 8 miles East of us right off I-20 on Main Street.
What a great boondocking experience! We felt like we had known them forever. So warm and welcoming. Hope our paths cross again.
We absolutely loved our two day stop at Sweetwater Sunset! Our dogs loved it as well (probably more than us). Our hosts made us feel at home and taught us a thing or two about starting a campfire 😉. We can't say enough good things about our hosts and look forward to seeing them again on the road!
Very pleasant experience staying with P & M in West Texas. Gorgeous sunsets, beautiful property & really nice hosts. Gracious even in the midst of moving from their beautiful home & hitting the road themselves. Thank you!!
When your driving through Texas and you need a safe, comfortable place to stay for the night, where do you go? Sweetwater Sunset! We were only there over night but we enjoyed our stay and had plenety of room! Thank you to our hosts!
Our stay with this couple was beyond great. They were extremely hospitable and gracious hosts. They have a very spacious area to park on a concrete slab with beautiful scenery. Marc was very accommodating in every aspect. We had some great conversation & he even tried very hard to help find a problem we were having. We left knowing we had made new friends and look forward to them visiting us in NC.
