Quarantined campers okay. I live on Pinnacle Lake (140 acre) south of I 70 with a beach and beautiful scenery. Canoeing and swimming at your own risk.
Location is 4 miles on gravel road...a little curvy.
I have two rather long driveways with easy turnaround. One is private and relatively level.
There is a free campground for my guests but its on a twisty gravel road and bigger rigs might have difficulties.
Many local wineries, breweries, the Katy trail along the Missouri River and historic Hermann are nearby.
Our two day stay with Deb was pleasant and rewarding. After a couple of back and forth texts, we found the entrance, and Deb was there to open the gate for us. She helped us get our rig situated, and even let us plug into her 15 amp electric circuit. Since it was quite chilly, Using the little electric heater (silent, no intermittent noisy fan) was a real lifesaver for us. Each evening we shared a socially distanced drink and chat, as Deb advised us on local info, and we swapped stories.
We took home seeds from a particularly tasty persimmon tree, and Patti particularly enjoyed playing with Chester, the most adorable puppy in the Universe. While excited to continue our trip, we were genuinely sorry not to have more time to stay and visit.
Thanks, Deb, your warmth and hospitality made our first BW stay a resounding success.
We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our stay.
A beautiful.setting in the middle of nowhere, and for us it was like reuniting with a great friend we never knew we had. Little mister Chester was a joy to watch and all Snoop will remember is in his nose. Hope to meet again. Highly recommended host.
The host was very responsive and welcoming. She also was accurate about directions and meeting up with us. The weather was wet and chilly, and we had a very brief in/out on our way, so we did not have much time to enjoy the lake or her gracious invitation to visit.
We hope to stop at LandBoat Dock again on our way home to Colorado.
We recommend this host and this location to others.
Dmultchler has a gift of hospitality and was a delight to get to know! She has an amazing property on a beautiful and quiet remote lake. We enjoyed D, her new puppy Chester, and her 3 Guinea Hens. The long gravel/dirt road to get to her community was worth the drive. We backed into our parking spot with plenty of room to spread out. We would love a return visit someday just to spend time with D, Chester, and the 3 girls :+)
Dmutchler was such an amazing host. She was very responsive when messaging before our stay. She gave us a tour of her beautiful lakefront property, and even had a canoe for us to take out on the lake! A beautiful and quiet place to stay with plenty of room for our dogs to run. Thanks again for your hospitality! We will definitely be getting in touch if we're ever back in the area.
Our stay with Dmutchler was wonderful! She was helpful in communicating about navigating our big rig (37ft class A) to her property, showed us the property, allowed us to utilize all of her lake activities and had us over for an evening chat. We had a really relaxing evening which was well needed on our cross country trip. Our daughter loved the lake access and visiting her pet guinea hens. Thank you for your great hospitality and we would love to stay again (longer)!
Dmutchler was a very nice, accommodating host! We had easy access to property amenities: canoe, water bike, oars, life jackets, and beach area is very close.
In the evenings we had a glass of wine on her deck and conversation was very easy flowing and balanced. Planning on staying there again!
Dmultcher was so friendly and accommodating. Our stay was private, safe and easily accessed on beautiful lake. I couldn't help but swim as soon as we arrived and enjoyed evening and morning conversations with our kind and gracious host. Could not have asked for anything else or a more pleasurable experience. I don't think we were really boondocking more so that we had a private retreat with a lake view. Thank you Dmultcher, Snoopy and the 3 Amigos (my nickname for dm's guinea hens)!
Hope to see you out our way if you are ever in need of a place to stay!
Got in a couple hours later than planned, but host and and site were as commented on by others. Very much liked the seclusion and scenery! Highly recommend Deb and her place for anyone needing some overnight rest and relaxation!
Wow! What an amazing first outing with Boondockers Welcome! We could not have had a better first-time experience. Our hostess was more than accommodating, she definitely has the gift of hospitality. We cannot praise her enough, we enjoyed every moment.
Very friendly hostess makes you feel right at home on her quiet lake property.
A warm, kind and welcoming host. A cool dip in the lake after a long hot day of traveling. Add a sunset night cap with Deb on her deck and you've enjoyed a little piece of Missouri heaven. Just the best stay! Thank you, Deb! We will be back!!
Thanks dmuchler, we had a pleasant stay., despite the heat. Your directions for cycling to Hermann were spot on. Perry chased the fox away at 6 this morning! Hope you'll make it to our place soon. Stay healthy and safe.
Dmutchler was great from start to finish. She met us at the gate (on her motorcyle) and guided us to "our" place. The spot was perfect and offered privacy and was very quiet. The spot we had was pretty level. She allowed us to hook up to her 15A (you will need a good bit of extension cord if you plan to do so) and that was great to run a couple of fans we used at night. It was perfect, no A/C needed. There were several amenities at the lake such as a playground, 'beach', swimming, and more that she told us we could avail ourselves of! There was also an RV dump available at the entrance/exit. It was blocked when we left so we weren't able to use it, but it is there and looked easy to access
We didn't get to talk a whole lot with her since we were mostly just passing through but her smile said more than went unsaid!
Wonderful hostess, very accommodating and welcoming. Room to disconnect and put tow vehicle next to me.
All good, would stay here again.
Staying with dmutchler was Like going to a long lost friends. She met us at the gate to direct us the short way to her drive. Arriving later than expected she was more than accommodating! We enjoyed coffee and conversation in the morning and again thruout the day. Swimming in the lake was the best and quite refreshing! We hope to meet up in colorado for a rendevous in the mountains!
We LOVED being here and getting some sun on the lake! There is a beach to walk in and swim, and canoeing/etc is also a great option! With the great fun we had and the company of an awesome host, we plan on scheduling another visit if we come through the area again!
Some details to be aware of:
- With our 35' Class A, I was able to get situated in a pretty private spot, a 2 minute walk from the beach, with 15 amp power using one extension cable. Others with large rigs had been concerned about branches, but I didn't hit any at all. We had plenty of space.
- If you are attempting to leave on a busy lake time (e.g. maybe Saturday mid-day) note that there may be cars parked from other beach guests that may make getting out difficult, depending on your rig. We noticed it could be an issue, but it was not an for us because we left in the morning.
- My Sprint line had no service (no surprise there) and my AT&T hotspot with a small antenna was also nearly useless. Deb let us on her wifi, but we couldn't reach it from our RV. I did work two days outside near her house for my remote full time job, and only had minor issues despite speed test showing 2-3 mbps down, 1 up. If you need 100% solid, fast internet, this place might not work for you, but otherwise come enjoy yourself here!
- It might be inconvenient to head into town for shopping, so instead just have everything you need beforehand and instead spend your time at the lake. ;)
We spent 3days with our host and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Nice shady spot, a beautiful view, and our hostess with the mostess couldn’t have been more accommodating! We spent several evenings chatting with her, and she joined us for a campfire one night! Highly recommended!
We had a very pleasant stay with Deb. She invited us onto her deck for evening conversation with another Boondocker who was also staying there (social distancing of course).
We would definitely consider staying here again if our travels take us near here.
The host was very nice and tried very hard to accommodate us. Unfortunately our RV was to large for the property so we couldn’t stay.
A beautiful and peaceful spot almost right on the lake
The hostess was lovely- enjoyed our time watching the sunset from her outdoor porch and having a glass of wine
She is generous with her “toys” canoe etc
Hope to cross paths again
Wonderful experience and we stayed an extra day
This host was friendly and welcoming. We would love to have her come to our place in Ohio. She has a very unique setting to offer.
I stayed for one night while passing through, and Dmutchler was very accommodating and friendly! She has a few different areas you can park, though that partially depends on the size of your rig and how level you are looking for.
This was a perfect spot for my Truck Camper and I was even able to work a bit down by the lake, though the WiFi was a bit slow. As long as you are in close range of the house, and are doing more basic browsing and emails, you should be fine.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stop through here again in the future!
New to this...left a personal reference.
Deb was amazing. Gorgeous place, she is so friendly amd accommodating. I stayed extra day it was so nice. Would definitely stay again.
Deb was the best host I have ever had. Such an amazing place. Stayed extra day. Hope I can come back this way sometime.
Our host Deb was really "there" for us. She stayed in good communication and showed up exactly as planned. She personally showed us our options for setup and provided an ideal spot for a two day visit and much needed rest. Pinnacle Lake and its residence are warm and welcoming. We would not hesitate to revisit New Florence again.
