We sit on top of a hill with mountain views to the north and the east. Both Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen are visible from the property. Guests are welcome to eat dinner on the 700 sq. ft. deck. The RV parking pad is almost perfectly level. We have an outdoor cat, so please, no pets. In the country sound travels very far very easily. My neighbors moved here to get a way from the sounds of the city, so please keep the electronic sounds very low. A generator running for short periods will not bother anyone, but we discourage all night generators. In this part of California fire is always a real danger, so we would appreciate no smoking outside your vehicle. We can't allow charcoal fires or camp fires for the same reason. We own a 2002 Rialta and from time to time we think about upgrading our unit, so if you want to give us a tour of your rig, we'd appreciate it. Kids are welcome; we just ask that they not open any fence gates or cross any fence lines. Small kids can enjoy their bicycles on our long and wide driveway and parking pad. House Rules

1. Sorry, no pets. 2. Generators: Please limit generator use to one hour or so per day. 3. No smoking outside your vehicle. 4. Please keep the country quiet. 5. If your vehicle leaks (anything), we can suggest a commercial campground. 6. No charcoal or wood fires. 7. If you use levelers, please take care to preserve the asphalt. 8. Our summers are hot, hot, hot (100+ is normal). Since you will not have electricity available, you may want to think twice about staying here in the heat of the summer. 9. Feel free to walk around our property. Just don't go over any fences and leave gates the way you find them. 10. The hot tub is off limits. Please make sure children stay away for their own safety. 11. Campers must arrive before dark. (You don't want to attempt our hills & curves in the dark if you are not familiar with the road.

Location

Access Road Conditions: Paved road all the way. The last mile is a narrow paved road; the last 1/4 mile is one lane. The last 1/4 mile has two sharp turns as it climbs the hill. We have indicated a maximum RV length of 25 ft. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Sorry, but we cannot accommodate tow vehicles. The paved road to our place has two sharp turns, not suitable for a tow vehicle. One could detach the tow vehicle in town and drive it to our place; we have adequate parking for both vehicles.

host Profile

Hosted By CaliforniaBob

Age:

65+

Only accepting guests fully vacinated against Covid-19. Details: Retired and living on 4 1/2 acres with a few animals. Some are pets, some are dinner. I have climbed California's highest mountains, one of which is visible from our property (Mt. Shasta, 14165 ft.). I still enjoy the outdoors and travel to Europe when I can afford it. I speak passable German and enjoy practicing my German with Germans who like to practice their English. Home Town: Palo Cedro is an unincorporated area about 5 miles east of the Redding city limits. Properties here are pretty much 3-15 acres. It is a very nice semi-rural area, but hot in the summer. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Areas in the national forest all around us provide many opportunities for privacy and for visiting some of the national parks in northern California. Skills or Expertise to Share: I do a bit of fine woodworking.

Bob was very friendly and flexible! I had a stormy night but woke up to a buck just outside my window. Beautiful!

CaliforniaBob was great. He let me stay with very short notice. He was extremely busy but made sure to touch base with me to make sure I was set. We were able to chat a little about our Rialtas which I really loved.
