We sit on top of a hill with mountain views to the north and the east. Both Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen are visible from the property. Guests are welcome to eat dinner on the 700 sq. ft. deck. The RV parking pad is almost perfectly level. We have an outdoor cat, so please, no pets. In the country sound travels very far very easily. My neighbors moved here to get a way from the sounds of the city, so please keep the electronic sounds very low. A generator running for short periods will not bother anyone, but we discourage all night generators. In this part of California fire is always a real danger, so we would appreciate no smoking outside your vehicle. We can't allow charcoal fires or camp fires for the same reason. We own a 2002 Rialta and from time to time we think about upgrading our unit, so if you want to give us a tour of your rig, we'd appreciate it. Kids are welcome; we just ask that they not open any fence gates or cross any fence lines. Small kids can enjoy their bicycles on our long and wide driveway and parking pad.
1. Sorry, no pets.
2. Generators: Please limit generator use to one hour or so per day.
3. No smoking outside your vehicle.
4. Please keep the country quiet.
5. If your vehicle leaks (anything), we can suggest a commercial campground.
6. No charcoal or wood fires.
7. If you use levelers, please take care to preserve the asphalt.
8. Our summers are hot, hot, hot (100+ is normal). Since you will not have electricity available, you may want to think twice about staying here in the heat of the summer.
9. Feel free to walk around our property. Just don't go over any fences and leave gates the way you find them.
10. The hot tub is off limits. Please make sure children stay away for their own safety.
11. Campers must arrive before dark. (You don't want to attempt our hills & curves in the dark if you are not familiar with the road.
Paved road all the way. The last mile is a narrow paved road; the last 1/4 mile is one lane. The last 1/4 mile has two sharp turns as it climbs the hill. We have indicated a maximum RV length of 25 ft.
Sorry, but we cannot accommodate tow vehicles. The paved road to our place has two sharp turns, not suitable for a tow vehicle. One could detach the tow vehicle in town and drive it to our place; we have adequate parking for both vehicles.
We are continuing to practice Social Distancing. We're normally more social than we may appear at this time. Our home is and has been disease free, and we're working to keep it that way. We'll miss getting to know you, but please know you are welcome here and we hope you have a pleasant stay.
Please note that due to the sharp turns on the road to our place we have a 25 ft. limit on our guests' total vehicle lengths. This includes auto AND trailer; together they cannot exceed 25 ft. This is for your protection.

CaliforniaBob was a great host. Spacious driveway and welcoming host. He spent time telling me about the area and suggesting great places to visit. His property is gorgeous with expansive views. Heartily recommend!
Lots of connections from similar Chicago origins to similar training and similar professional experiences. We even share an interest in bird houses - there are lots of them around the property. The location is stunning and private sitting on top of a hill with a view to the East that is to die for. Even had a chance to meet the young lambs and multiple chicks. We will return to enjoy more of the hosts and the local energy.
Not far from Redding and surrounded by Blue Oaks and home made interesting bird feeders.
We had a lovely overnight stop at Bob and Barb’s. Their property is gorgeous with incredible views. They were warm and welcoming and we felt comfortable walking around the property, seeing the chickens and so many birds and sitting on the deck. Nice level spot to park our van. Easy access to the freeway but so far away from the noise! Definitely a great overnight stop.
The site is beautiful, quiet, and very peaceful. CaliforniaBob was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed from a good social distance. I would absolutely recommend this host.
A little off the beaten track but well worth the drive for the peace and quite I received. Thanks
Pleasant and helpful couple. Quiet, clean with snow capped peaks.
