Maples are kind and gracious hosts. We enjoyed visiting with them around the evening campfire. Made us feel right at home. Setting is private and quiet. Lovely place to stay. We spent a wonderful weekend hiking in the Lake Willoughby region. Highly recommended.
The Maples are as genuine as they come. Nestled in a quiet corner of the world, they have a little piece of paradise that they share with us the BW community. We didn’t get to spend much time with The Maples, but the connection was there in which they share commonality with us as travelers.
We thank The Maples for their hospitality and warm friendly welcome we received. Boondocking with The Maples was very enjoyable, and we will certainly ask to stay again when we return to their neck of the woods and hope they come to our area so we can share our abode with them! Great folks and Great Hosts!!!
Enjoyed my stay, quiet and peaceful. Pup enjoyed it too.
We love the Maples. Boondocking at its best. Gorgeous views and great hospitality. Fresh spring water was offered and tons of trails throughout their property. Our dogs will miss their new chipmunk friends. Will definitely visit again. We plan on staying in touch. Til we meet again!
We had so much fun at the Maples. The hosts were so kind and gave us privacy when we wanted it yet joined us for evening conversation when we invited it. So interesting to talk to and had an amazing location and view. Definitely stay with them if you are in the area!
Close to high way, levelled, quiet place to rest! Thank you !
The Maples are genuine down to earth people. They don’t come much nicer than this. Enjoyed our time on their land, sharing a meal and great conversation.
Don’t miss this great stop!!
Maples were friendly and very welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We learned about living off the grid which was fascinating. Their property is peaceful and beautiful with delicious spring water. And they give great hugs!! Thanks so much Maples.
The Maples!
Since I was their 1st guest & wo any prior Guest references,
Upon arrival, I was naturally nervous. No problem.
The Maples immediately put me at ease in a very down-to-earth way.
No pretenses, they are hard workers & live a simple life.
They are also RVers w one of my favorite BW locations.
WARNING: They live totally off-the-grid wo any electricity or sewer to share.
But! They do have plenty of delicious spring water to share.
Also, if you are tired of a small RV shower w limited hot water?
They have a semi private outdoor (heated) shower w unlimited water &
it is large enough to share w your loved one.
But! you may also have a few of natures "animals" nearby.
During my "too short" 4 night visit, I saw several types of birds,
including cardinals, woodpeckers & wild Turkies.
Also busy smaller sized squirrels & at least one doe (deer)
that remains in the area, along the long winding driveway.
She frequently comes out of the woods &
watches what the suspicious humans might be doing.
She may soon be a very good & protective mother.
Both of the Maples enjoy mowing & she has a natural "green thumb"
w several arrangements of flowers etc to compliment the natural beauty.
When I 1st entered the property, behind a row of trees that naturally
hides the many beautiful secrets that exists around the corner.
I thought the large unlevel but mowed grassy area on the right side
was a private "Pitch-n-putt" short distances golf course.
There was even ~4' tall sticks layed out in no apparent sensible way. Lol
I am Irish & I am aware that this is a very old but popular sport in the
British Isles. Let him explain the reason for this area & the sticks. Lol
I enjoyed riding his 4x4 mower while he mowed this area, wo a beer. Lol
I also strangely enjoyed getting up at 5 AM every morning to go into the
nearby town to have a very good breakfast & the great company of local
business people & cook that meet in this way every work day.
And, I joined the Maples for several simple but delicious evening meals.
So, do not be concerned about the Maples or their beautiful location,
which is in th midst of wonderful nature & only 18 miles from Canada.
This combination has nearly everything to offer.
In fact, I was truly sad to leave both my temporary "North Country" home
I was no longer a guest. I truly felt "right at home".
And the wonderful friends that the Maples I have become,
I truly hope our friendship will last a longtime & we shall meet again.
I had the impression that they felt the same way.
My sincerest thank you to both of "The Maples"!
For my 1st time ever w BW, leaving this "special" location...
"I WAS TRUELY, EMOTIONALLY SAD TO LEAVE!"
