We are on private hilly 320 acres with a 40 acre (non-swimming) lake, trails with great views, and a variety of possible RV spots - depending on your rig. Access is via 1 mile of good gravel off of a paved road. If you like a quiet spot above or beside a lake with great views, starry skies without light pollution, birds singing, coyotes vocalizing at night and probable sightings of deer ; you will feel right at home.
Covid safe zone: vaccination & booster at least 2 weeks before arrival
No smoking or drugs
No open fires except in fire rings
Pets under control
No trash left behind
No loud music - we enjoy the quiet, too.
We have a variety of possible RV locations accessed via gravel or farm roads with some curves. Most are hilly and may need 4 wheel drive depending on the weather. Dry camping available on the top of high hills with great views. However, parking near our house is available in wet or dry weather. You just won’t have as much privacy or views. We have cold winters with lots of snow so are not accepting RV's from mid October until May.
There is lots of space on our property. Smaller trailers may have access to choice locations, but we can accommodate anyone. Tow parking location will vary with which RV location is used. Pull through available in some areas.
We do some last minute trips in the summer, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you.
There is a large recreational lake with boat launch and swimming beach about 10 minutes away. We are in Lakeland County, with numerous lakes and Provincial and Municipal campgrounds. There is a small convenience store and gas station 2 miles away, and it is about 35 minutes to the nearest town for shopping, swimming pool, RV service center etc.
Overlooking a small lake this campsite gave us a beautiful view in three directions with a wooded background. It is situated well away from the highway, so we enjoyed the quiet of nature; the breeze through the trees, birds on the lake and coyotes at night; spectacular sunsets.
Our hosts were wonderful. They made us feel at home while seeing that our needs were met.
We had a great stay.
The picture says it all. It was a beautiful location, quiet, and so dark at night...something us city folk don't get any more.
The hosts were most welcoming and joined us for dinner the first night. They shared many interesting stories and there was great fellowship around that huge firepit.
We shared the space with our travel companions and very much enjoyed the peace & quiet of this rural location.
We stayed for 3 nights and I would certainly go back.
Our stay at Cabritahills was wonderful. Our hosts provided everything we needed. The view from the camping spot is exceptional!
Wonderfully gracious hosts. The drive in to the site is a little challenging with a 30' 5th wheel but definitely worth it. We had to level it a bit but had an amazing view. We had a great visit with our hosts around a bonfire in the evening. Our golden retriever was able to roam free which was much appreciated. Many thanks to our hosts and highly recommend a visit here.
Marci and Peter had a beautiful spot for us, on a bit of a cliff and overlooking the lake. Our only company were the ducks , birds and invisible deer that left their tracks. To reach and leave the perfect spot was a bit of a challenge for our 25ft Class C, but it was accomplished with suggestions from Peter how to navigate the ups and downs. Peter is planning to level things off a bit and that will make arriving and leaving easier. They had everything ready for a giant camp fire and we spend several happy hours together exchanging life and travel stories. Thank you for your beautiful spot and your great hospitality!!
