Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this host500' off paved secondary road with blacktop driveway bordered by tall White Pine trees.
No smoking or alcohol.
Just off state highway on wide, paved, well maintained secondary road.
In the country. Off street. Next to the rig.
Usually in Florida during winter months so n/a then.
We are located in the heart of the largest Amish settlement in Illinois. Yoder's Kitchen http://www.yoderskitchen.net/ is a few miles away and has fantastic dining as well as parking for any size rig.
Aikman Wild Animal Park https://aikmanwildlife.com/ is close by as well.
The host let us know something had come up the night before our visit, but was still able to host us on a secondary site on their property (just without electricity). He was gracious enough to meet us out by the road and help us back into a nice grassy spot by their pond. The road close by had quite a bit of traffic so watch your kids/dogs. Definitely recommend staying here.
Not only was this location wonderful but so were our hosts! We parked on a level pad with a perfect view of their large pond and grove of trees. So quiet, we did not hear any road noise during the night. The pond was a perfect spot for our morning walk as well as visiting their horses out back. Whynotam were a delight to talk to you, they filled us in on what was around and all the things their area has to offer. We even received delicious zebra striped tomatoes and cucumbers from their garden. Since the weather made us change our plans we were able to spend time at almost every location they suggested! Yes, you absolutely have to have the fried chicken at Yoders, and stop at the local stores around town. Each was well worth the visit. Since we are rescheduling our original plans for this fall, we will definitely be back to stay another time. Thank you!!!!!
Wonderful couple! Very accommodating and easy to visit with. This was our first time Boondociking and they made it a super experience. Such a warm and hospitable couple! Thanks again!!
What a wonderful time we had getting know our host and enjoying their beautiful property and gracious hospitality. Looking forward to visiting again and getting to know them more.
Beautiful property and the hosts were very sweet. Left early in the morning due to allergies acting up for me so we missed chatting with them over coffee. Next time!!
What a nice stay with nice folks to go with it!
Natural manicured surroundings and kind hospitality in one spot. Thank you both.
We totally enjoyed our short stay with the
hosts. They were terrified hosts. we would not hesitate to go again
The scones were delicious and the roasted chicken at Alvies sister's restaurant was wonderful
Whynotam are great hosts! They have a wonderful place for boondockers- Paradise, indeed! In our case, we were able to park on the concrete apron in front of their garage and, best of all, they provided us with a 50 amp hookup- no generator for our A/C! Whynotam are very congenial people and go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. Check out A's hobbies- he's a busy guy!
Pay attention to his recommended directions to their home. If your brain-dead GPS system recommends any other exit off of I-57 other than Exit 203, ignore it! Take State Route 133- it's only 4 miles to their home off I-57.
Hope we have another opportunity to meet up with Whynotam in the future.
We enjoyed meeting and visiting with this friendly couple. They had a great place to park our RV with a scenic pond and view of the sunset. We had a good visit on the front porch and they brought us a plate of cookies to enjoy during our evening there. A good place to stay.
This was a wonderful stay. It provided a quiet, relaxing respite from driving and allowed me to plan my next month of travel in a peaceful, private setting, which truly is paradise, located in a beautiful part of the country. I am so appreciative of the warmth, and gracious generosity of my hosts. They were very accommodating and trusting as they shared a very precious property, their home. Of course the freshly cooked and personally delivered cinnamon rolls will never be forgotten.
The evening was enjoyable, with a pleasant breeze as the sun set. It was a moonlit and silent night in a serene setting, creating an excellent environment for a good nights sleep.
Morning was a precious time, getting up as soon as the sun began to turn the sky a brilliant red over the surrounding corn fields. I enjoyed morning coffee and those cinnamon rolls, from a five star location next to the pond, while listening to birds singing, fish feeding, frogs leaping from the shore, and an occasional glimpse of a turtle looking back at me from the pond.
This would be a delightful stop by anyones expectations. I hope my travels bring me back to this area again.
