Backyard camper pad at our home. Electrical is a 20amp service, you must provide your own adapter. Water is also provided from a well on the property. You can dump gray tank in a yard drain near the camper pad. Generators are okay, We have a gas fire pit, as well as a gas grill, and a charcoal grill on site. A couple of my dogs are dog aggressive so we do not allow pets. We also have a half bath outside that includes a toilet and a sink. Please respect the BoonDockers Welcome required common courtesy guidelines if you are using our hookups/WiFi. An honor box is located near the electrical line, no need to ask us, just drop in what you feel is appropriate.
We do have an apiary (several beehives) in our back pasture so if your stay is during a time when nectar is flowing it is possible that you will be visited by several honey bees. The possibility to get stung is there if you walk barefoot and happen to step on a bee.
We are very involved hosts so you can expect some fellowship from us, and possibly some Cajun cooking
No littering. We have trashcans outside as well as ashtrays, please use them.
Please. No children under 12 years old.
We have a strict NO PETS rule, we have a dog that is aggressive to unfamiliar animals.
We ask that you pre arrange arrival and departure times. If one of us is working from home it’s not a big deal. But if we are working in the office we ask that you arrive after 5. And depart with us at 7am.
Gravel Driveway, then pull through via back yard. Camper pad is packed crushed asphalt.
Tow Vehicle can remain connected to Camper, or disconnect and park next to the camper
Parish Brewery is within walking Distance from our home. Tabasco is a short drive to the east, they offer several tours. Vermillion Ville, and Acadian Village are parks that celebrate our Cajun History. As well as Rip Van Winkle Gardens which has history of when a drilling rig punched through a salt dome and drained Lake Peigneur.
A meticulously maintained property with welcoming hosts. Met all our needs for a quick stay on our way west on Interstate 10.
We were privileged to stay a 2nd night and enjoy some authentic Cajun cooking and neighbors gathering. We would definitely look forward to staying with these gracious hosts again.
Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating, providing us with many amenities. This was our very first Boondockers Welcome experience.
We had a lovely visit with lhotard and his wife. They educated us on the local bee populations and had some of their honey for sale, which of course we had to get. The spot is on the grass next to a fabulous deck where we all visited for a while. None of us had a shortage of conversation it seemed. We were happy to have access to the 1/2 bath with a toilet and sink, so we did not have to look for a dump station after we left. The dogs are very sweet. The roads are typical for Louisiana once you get off I-10. Be sure to check on the arrival and departure times before booking. We look forward to another visit when we are that way. Thank you to the both of them for their hospitality.
The property is in a rural country setting, with resident chickens & a rooster (which I loved hearing each morning), 4 friendly dogs and a bee yard.
The hosts have the gift of hospitality and invited us to enjoy a Cajun meal our 2nd night.
We had reserved the 3 nts allowed and when they heard we needed to find another place along our route to TX, they invited us to stay a 4th night. Such a welcoming couple!!
We used our own solar while staying, but power & water were both offered. We just didn’t need it.
Also bought 6 jars of their honey, 4 of which had chopped peppers in the honey!! Candy with a kick!!!
Horrible storm hit just as I was about to arrive. 2 hours later all was good and I was met at their gate. Loved the quietness. Everything was great and I am sure I will be back!
Great time, hosts were fantastic, even had dinner with them a couple nights.
The hosts were very nice. He met us at the gate and showed us where everything was to hook up. The dogs were very friendly so make sure you are comfortable with dogs. We visited the Rip Van Winkle gardens. Very nice and the cafe was excellent.
Taupe Apiray and Farm was easy to find with our hosts detailed directions. We had very peaceful nights and did a little exploring and too much eating in the daytime.
Our hosts invited us in for refreshments and conversation. I must say that they have a lovely home and a magnificent fireplace. We enjoyed both immensely.
We hope to visit again and highly recommend to others.
Met some awesome people here. They were very accommodating and welcoming. Their property was charming and patio was a fun, comfortable atmosphere too. Hoping to come back and visit again!
Gorgeous, open spread in a rural setting. Our hosts were super friendly and even joined us for a beer at the near by brewery. Had lots of fun sharing stories and experiences. We really enjoyed learning about their bee hives and chickens. Their cute dogs were adorable as well. Would definitely ask to stay again.
It is a beautiful quiet place with easy access and a level place to park. The hosts were very gracious and helpful and we enjoyed chatting with them. We really liked their dogs and their honey is wonderful. Be sure to buy some if you stay here. They have built a beautiful log home and their back porch/entertainment area is amazing to see. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Lovely place to pull in! I got in late but Lonnie was very welcoming, and had great communication. I hope to come back by one day! Cheers and Thank you!!
We have stayed here several times and it feels like coming home. Such a lovely place and wonderful hosts. Looking forward to our next stay!
Dennis and Rickey
We just can’t say enough about this couple! We rolled in with the bad tire, and our host helped us find a place to get the tire replaced and even offered to drive and pick us up if needed! He allowed us to spend an extra night, and we had a wonderful dinner with them the night before we left! Beautiful property and wonderful hosts! Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Our hosts were attentive to our traveling needs, providing a nice parking spot with a farm view and easy hookups to water and electricity. We enjoyed visiting with our hosts on their cool deck, learned interesting new things, including about beekeeping and southern Louisiana life We look forward to staying here any time we are in the area!
The couple that hosted us are simply the best. The entire home, property and especially the back deck is totally awesome! These two folks are really good people ! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this very positive experience to anyone.
We had a great time here again. 3 time and gets better every time.
Thank you so much for letting us stay with y'all again.
Such an accomodating couple! This is one of our favorites! More like family than friends! We were there for Mardi Gras this time and it was a blast!!
Thank you again for everything!🤗❤️
We arrived during the weekend before Madri Gras. Our hosts invited us to their seafood gumbo cookout, a brunch, and our first crawfish boil. They were warm and friendly. We had such a great time. We hope to see them on the road or back at their place another time. We definitely recommend staying here if you are ever in the area.
Our hosts welcomed us into their beautiful home and we enjoyed their warmth and hospitality.
We experienced the excellent local craft brewery and learned so much from our hosts about bee keeping and kayak fishing.
We also enjoyed the company of our new furry friends!
Highly recommend these hosts.
We will return for another visit on our next adventure.
We came with friends who had been here before. Fantastic hosts who like to share the Cajun way of life. Very friendly and we shared meals and played games with them and their friends. Wished we had more time to learn more about the beautiful area. Boondockers always creates a new experience and we always learn something new and this was no exception.. Here we learned about beekeeping. Thank you for everything.
We were travelling through the area with friends and knew it would be great to see these hosts again and introduce our friends to these wonderful people.
We spent 3 nights and were not disappointed. Even got to meet some of their friends and was able to taste some cracklin 😋 along with a card game night with them all.
Thank you again for your generous hospitality and hoping to see y'all in Canada soon.

Great location. Really nice people, wish we were staying longer!
Where do I begin? The owners are so kind, friendly, helpful, fun. We’ll be keeping in touch and meeting up for sure. A great friendship was started. When our route takes us back, we’ll stay here!
Their property easy to get to, beautiful and very easy to pull in and turn our 40’ motorhome to park along their carport. Their home and outdoor entertaining area are beautiful. Love how they’ve used so many family pieces in the build of their home. To us, that says a lot about people.
They were kind enough to call us and invite us to a Christmas Vacation Movie night with their friends and family, if we wanted to arrive a night earlier. Of course we did! 🎄 Their 5 dogs are so friendly! They love attention and all get along so well. We’re big dog people so this was another bonus.
Stay here. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks so very much Broussard friends. See you out and about! 😃
Had a Great evening visiting with Lonnie & Antoinette... Definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
Thanks For Everything
Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly! Met us at the gate, visited and showed fantastic hospitality. Their dogs are happy to see you and so loving! We sat around their outside fireplace the first evening and were invited to join them for the next nights. Thus the following night we enjoyed a delicious meal and interesting conversation together. This is also a very easy to find and beautiful host location. Highly recommended!
This is our second stay with the Hotards and we loved our stay yet again! Hoping to meet up with them along our travels.
Thank you again for being such wonderful hosts Lonnie and Antoinette..you're the best!
Dennis and Rickey
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Including us in your families Thanksgiving was thoughtful and heartwarming .
We would love to come again. Anytime you are in Canada please come and stay with us.
Unfortunately, we only got to stay one night with Lonnie and Antoinette which was bad planning on our part. What a lovely couple they are and their property is just perfect for boondocking. We were able to enter with a 33 ft A class towing a car on a dolly, turn around without disconnecting and park on a flat patch of grass next to their home. Lonnie assisted us to park next to their grey water drain. He also offered us power and water. The welcome we received from their five dogs was enthusiastic and they all seemed super excited to meet the new boondocking guests. Lonnie and Antoinette invited us in and we spent some time getting to know them. This is truly an exceptional location and the welcome was very much appreciated. Thank you for the offer to come back and spend more time with you both which we will try and work into our plans.
The "hotard's" are terrific hosts that go out of their way to make you stay great!
My 1st time in February they schedule my 1st MARDI GRAS Parade.
My 2nd time they scheduled a Jimmy Buffet "Parrothead" type private party.
And they then accepted my request to join them for a very nice church service.
Wow! I shall have to return to see what is next!
Plus, I now have "great" Louisiana Cajun friends.
Thank you my friends!
This was our second time using Boondockerswelcome, and these hosts made us feel like old friends revisited. We had good fellowship and conversations, and the even invited us for supper and the grilled Redfish was out of this world.
The pooches had to have their attention too, and they welcomed us like old family members.
All in all, what a great couple and a great place to stay, thanks again and we hope we can see you again in the near future.
Lonnie and his wife were kind, accommodating hosts. Provided electric hookup and offered water, which I didn’t need for my short stay. Their property is beautiful, with a nice flat parking spot. You might get freaked out by all their big dogs, but they’re all sweet and friendly. Thank you!
the Best things in Life are the People (and Pets) we Love, the places we've been and the MEMORIES we've made along the way ......... Our stay with our hosts reflects this👍🏻
We spent 2 nights in Louisiana with wonderful hosts and their 5 beautiful dogs. They were welcoming and fun hosts. They provided a crawfish dinner to us on the first night and we provided dinner on the 2nd night of their recommended JJ's pizza special which was probably one of the best pizzas we ever had !! Thanks "L" for the frozen margaritas to go with the pizza. After dinner we spent an hour on their really special patio space with a roaring fire 🔥 and good conversation.
The view from our trailer included horses in a field, chickens in a coop and of course those wonderful dogs playing.
We would love to return and want to thank you both for your generous hospitality 😎

I had a terrific time while visiting the Ihotard's.
Out Hosts is the host of a Krewe that owns & M.G. float.
I had an opportunity to assist in the preparation of their float,
including a flat tire replacement & decorations.
Meet the 40+ very friendly & incredible Krewe members
then instead of watching a Mardis Gras,
I actually rode the float & tossed many beads etc, that were mainly given to me.
What an incredible experience as their BW guests.
If invited back, I would very much enjoy doing it again.
Thank you L & A, sincerely,
It was a short stay, but our gracious hosts made it such a pleasant one!
Beautiful country setting, excellent conversation, and they even let us try some of their jambalaya!
Nothing could be improved!
Thank you! :-)
The Hotards are a great couple. Made you feel at home. We had a flat tire this morning. Helped us get going and found us a place to get it fixed. We will sure come back and stay again.
Lonnie & Antoinette are terrific & very friendly hosts.
I shall never forget my time w them.
I hope our friendship will continue & that I will be invited back.
Especially to be a member of their KREWE again!
Thank you Lonnie & Antoinette!
We are so glad we decided to spend the night in Louisiana, because this place is a gem. Lonnie & Antoinette are absolutely wonderful, warm and fun hosts. We had both dinner and breakfast together and they introduced us to some local specialties we really enjoyed (we supplied the maple syrup and some wine ;)). The house itself is beautiful! Like a modern farmhouse with many special touches that are very “Lonnie & Antoinette”, including a really unique patio space. The from our van included horses in a field, chickens in a coop and dogs playing. If you love dogs like we do, you’ll also be happy to get to pet and play with 5 adorable dogs. They will want to help you with anything you’re doing outside :) Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for the generous hospitality and we hope to see you again!
We contacted lhotard at the last minute and they went beyond hosting by inviting us to meet their friends for a Valentines dinner! Wow to be invited at the last minute like this was beyond us! This is boondocking hosting that will be hard to beat! We felt like family with them, even their 5 lovely dogs seemed to adopt us! If we ever come back to Louisiana we will surely see them again and hope they come to us so we can give back their warm welcome. Thank you L and A !🤝😘
The hosts are truly incredible. This was our second stay deep in Cajun Country and we enjoyed it even more than our first. The property is spacious, with horses on the other side of two fences, chickens in a coop at the back and beehives nearby. Lonnie and Antoinette are welcoming and generous folks who graciously extended us a safe haven in the storm, water and electricity to be able to enjoy this part of Louisiana. For those interested in a day trip to New Orleans, this would be ideal.
A & L set the bar pretty high for any other Boondocking experience. We were welcomed onto their property, into their home and treated like family.
We were given suggestions of places to visit, learned a bit of Cajun culture and found new friends in Claude, Meg, Henry, Alice and my “namesake” Lucy :)
Boondocking can be an experience in itself.....if all were like this one it would be amazing.
We will plan a return visit for sure....
Thanks to you both.
Lonnie and Antoinette are exemplars of the kind of BW hosts you wish to meet when on the road. They have an absolutely lovely ranch and are the most generous, kind folks you will encounter on the road. We can't wait to return and share more stories.
