We have plenty of room to roam with a 9 hole disc golf course and basketball court on property. Parking sites are gravel (1) and grass. Only one site has electricity.
Only 1 site has gravel and electricity (20/30/50amp) hookup. Please no alcohol outside of your rig or smoking in or around the buildings. You are welcome to run your generators between 8am and 10pm. Quiet hours in the summer are 10pm to 7am. You are welcome to participate in any of the activities we have, or you can use this as a retreat to recharge your spiritual batteries.
About a mile of gravel to our property. Take a right at the “Y” intersection. We are about 1/4 of a mile on the right. Look for all the red buildings.
Next to Rig
Devils Lake, a premier walleye fishing lake, is within 8 miles. Historic Fort Totten, and White Horse Hill National Game preserve are within 12 miles and Wood Lake is only 1/2 mile away.
I love this stop! Warm, welcoming people and a nice level spot. They've even added a gravel pad, water and electric since we last passed through!
We can’t Thank our hosts enough for a great stay! Beautiful location, close to everything we needed. We got to pick Juneberries, take a walk to the Indian mounds, and just relax! Our hosts were so accommodating, friendly, and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. We spent our last night on the shady porch, having great conversation and fellowship. Great couple, great stay, and highly recommended!
We arrived to the BW location and was greeted by our host. They were very warm and welcoming. They directed us where to park, showed us where the hookups were, and gave us time to set up camp. The spot was nice and pretty level too. After we set up camp, we walked over and introduced ourselves, sat and had really good conversations.
We stayed here 4 nights, so we had time to do some sightseeing, and some relaxing. Our dogs really enjoyed the trails around the property and most of all the attention that they were getting from our hosts.
We really enjoyed learning about their story and admire them for the their service and commitment to the community. Our hosts is a wealth of knowledge of the area and history of the community.
On our way out they said a little prayer for us, which we thought was really nice. We LOVED staying here. We’ve already said we will be back.
To our host, Thank you! Thank you for allowing us to stay and giving us this opportunity to experience your place. We enjoyed all the conversations and just getting to know you both. We will definitely see you again!! Till next time, take care!!
Mike and Libby were gracious hosts!
The spot they have prepared for the RV community is great! We were very comfortable in our 45 foot SuperC and could get in and out with no problem!
The whole experience was a blessing and will certainly plan to return someday!
just what we needed...thank you soooo much!
The hosts were absolutely great, very welcoming and accommodating. They allowed us privacy, but we also enjoyed several opportunities to visit with them. This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience, and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts!! The site was level and it was a very quiet and peaceful stay. As another reviewer said, we arrived as strangers and left as “good” friends! We look forward to seeing them again in the future, either in their area or ours.
We didn't have the opportunity to stay more than a night, but the nice level site with 30amp electricity and water was welcomed after a long day of driving. The hosts greeted us warmly, allowed us to use their shower facilities and left us to rest. We wish we would have been able to stay longer as we were interested in their mission and liked the peaceful well manicured surroundings. We would not hesitate to stay again if ever traveling through the area again!
This stay was such a blessing! Mikflowers was so helpful- before, during, and even after arrival and stay. The spot they graciously provided us was perfect. We so enjoyed this area we are definitely planning to return, thanks to Mikflowers’s direction. We truly are inspired by their ministry. We will keep Mikflowers in our thoughts and prayers.
Spirit Lake Retreat is a quiet and rural location that allowed us to relax as much as we wanted. Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel like a part of a family. We thoroughly enjoyed conversations with them, and shared meals too. Spirit Lake Retreat is working for the benefit of their community, and we were happy to help out a bit. ( Larry got to mow the lawn)
We are planning on returning next summer.
We originally were to stay one night but because it is a special place we stayed two nights. The work they do for the native Americans is amazing. Great flat spot spot for RV with Elec and Water. Beautiful grounds and area. The local wildlife preserve near by had elk, bison and prairie dogs. The hosts are really friendly and anyone would be blessed to stay. We would like to come back and spend more time there in the future.
We had a peaceful and pleasant stay. Our hosts were kind enough to leave us in since the location would have been hard to find. They greeted us warmly and were extremely gracious, allowing us to use their basketball court, playground, and other amenities. We enjoyed an evening around their new firepit as we listened to the great work they are doing for the community. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. Thanks again and keep you the good work!
This was our second time through and we had to stop for a visit. Nice stopover with super people.
We have been blessed on our journey this year to have met some terrific people and mikflowers is high on our list. Mike and Libby were great and their work is inspiring. We hope to keep in touch and get back to visit in warmer weather!
What a great place and nice couple! I stopped on my way to Alaska. I didn’t arrive until 3:45AM and went right to sleep. I was invited in for coffee and conversation later that morning and left with my cooler filled with ice! My only regret is that I didn’t have more time to spend there. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.
It speaks highly of a host when you leave with an open invitation to return. That's who these folks are!
Coming from the FMCA Rally I needed to recharge after long days volunteering so I had reserved a space here for two nights. I stayed a third as well! The host is gracious and put it this way - “do as much or as little as you like, and stay as long as you like.” A fascinating location with great hosts!
Amazing people. They open their place and their life to others. Great place to stay. They are always doing for others. You can help as much as you want. Plenty of room to relax and gather your self. Lots of walking places. Hopefully I will be able to go back next year.
Arrived as boondockers, left as friends. We drove into a beehive of activity assisting a needy community with whatever they need from home repairs to handicap ramps and anything in between. We were invited to join their group of energetic volunteers and treated like family including meal invitations and campfire time. These folks are the most selfless giving people I have ever met. We actually stayed an extra day and are planning a return visit. Go out of your way to seek out this place. We promise a great experience and new friends.
Although I had previously responded, I am happy to do so again. This couple are involved in a very ambitious project involving young people brought in to assist those in need in the community.
A very friendly and warm stay.
We had only expected to lay low for a couple days at this stop. What we found was something completely different. 45 willing volunteers out in the local community doing volunteer work for the local tribal reservation and the community at large. All of this headed up by pastor mikfkowers and his wonderful wife. Meeting such a group of people was lifechanging. We volunteered for some fix up work around the camp area and were rewarded with friendship at every turn. If you are so inclined, this is a great place to stay for a day or a week. Great people!
