No formal fee for water/elec but a donation is appreciated. Rural north central Florida half way between Gainesville and Palatka, We live in a lakeside community . We have a 1 acre lakeside lot/home. The property is surrounded by a 4' chain link fence. There are 2 50x70 areas on either side of the driveway to park. Water and 15 amp electric are available on one side. Your dog is welcome to have the run of the property. We now have 2 young Golden Doodles dogs. WiFi is definitely available on the veranda overlooking the lake, at all times. The further you get from the house the weaker the signal. You are welcome to use the veranda at any time. If you want to use our WiFi do not hesitate to ask for the password. Suggested Local Attractions:St. Augustine (50 miles, a must if you have not been there). Gainesville, University of Florida (20 miles). Cedar Key (75 miles). The Villages (75 miles). 2 paved bike trails in the area. Keystone Heights to Palatka (25 miles long) 5 miles away . Hawthorne to Gainesville & Paynes Prairie (20 miles long) 8 miles away. Ravine Gardens State Park, Palatka. Our lakeside veranda in the evening. Gorgeous sunsets with wine and Sandhill Cranes.

After hosting over 100 times and being guests, the caliber of Boondocker's Welcome folks we have encountered warrant little need for house rules. We are Christian, civilized, gentlefolk. We only ask you act accordingly while our guests. We will not charge a fee but please feel free to donate something to help defray the cost of your stay. ******A note about pets. We now have two new 11 month old Goldendoodles. They have gotten along with small dogs. Large dogs may take an introduction. Finally, please complete your Profile and Bio to introduce yourselves and leave a review after your stay. We will gladly reciprocate. Here is the deal with reviews. It gives us bragging rights when we belly up to the Boondockers Welcome bar. Happy trails!

Retired military/professional Details: The Mrs. and I live on a acre of land (fenced) in rural north central Florida lakeside. We are both retired. We recently purchased a 5th wheel after maybe a 12 year hiatus from camping. We have several friends who RV/camp and their stories seduced us back. Home Town: Melrose, Florida Favorite Boondocking Locations: We took a 2 month trip, last year, to northern Michigan. We used Boohdockers Welcome whenever possible. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also great. Skills or Expertise to Share: I am retired military, an engineer and Human Resources director. My wife is a retired Dental Assistant. I try to maintain everything I own. 2 cars, a truck, a cabin cruiser, a 5th wheel, a lawn tractor, various power equipment, our home and property. I am very busy. I thought I had retired. I have a tool garage with a lifetime accumulation of tools. I am more than happy to lend you tools or "turn to" with you.

Hal and his wife are good folk. Good resources for a comfortable, quiet nights stay. Enjoyed the education on how to correctly install a water pump switch and the reminder of what you should always do. Enjoyed our brief stay and will stop again in Oct when the snowbirds return South.

Our stay at Hal's property was nothing short of extraordinary! Positioned perfectly halfway between Orlando and Jacksonville, it provided a much needed break during our journey. Hal and his wife welcomed us with open arms, offering not just a place to park our RV, but a haven of tranquility and relaxation. Set against the backdrop of a small lake, Hal's property offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the road. Nights were filled with a profound silence, allowing for deep rest and rejuvenation. The sunset over the lake was simply breathtaking, painting the sky with vibrant colors and leaving us in awe of nature's splendor. During our stay, we discovered nearby hiking trails, adding an unexpected adventure to our experience. These hidden gems in the state forest provided an incredible opportunity to connect with nature and explore the beauty of the surrounding area. Hal's hospitality was second to none. He went out of his way to ensure our comfort, even providing access to a 30 amp plug for our RV. Additionally, the well-fenced property offered security and peace of mind, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our stay. Our time at Hal's was truly unforgettable, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to fellow travelers seeking a peaceful retreat. My wife, Bonnie and I along with our chit-su, Emma Grace, enjoyed a two night stay last week. Very easy road in and pretty easy back in once in the yard. Hal is a super duper host and excellent communicator! He only had to stand me in the corner one time for letting the dogs out of the yard. (Hal you are a Prince!) Hope to stay again.

We had wonderful communication throughout the process with the hosts being very accommodating and friendly! It was a beautiful spot to stay & the hosts also gave wonderful recommendations on places to dine!! Highly recommended!!
