This is a semi-private shaded location. We have a small stilt house here with decks and patio. We put down a shell fill material which gives a good base for vehicles. This is nothing special but is an accessible place to stay for free. Should be an easy in and out. 10 minutes from I-75, 10 minutes to Publix & Home Depot.
Leave it like you were never there!
Dont burn owners wood. (Firewood donations accepted!). There is plenty of fire starting material on the grounds like palm leaves & twigs.... bring larger firewood.
Let us know approximately what time you expect to be arriving, but come anytime.
Alcohol is not an issue with us as we drink red wine and maybe enjoy a beer on a hot day.
If you need electricity we have an extension cord for 110 volt 15 amp
service for lights and battery charging. $$ per day?? Not sure on electrical costs yet so just leave a fair donation depending what you use! (Don’t blow the breaker by overloading!)
Newly paved road with concrete apron on to property. Access and camping areas are level shell gravel. There is room to enter and back into spaces but not really pull through. There is access from east or west on road we live on. Florida is flat!
I-75 exit at Jones Loop is north of us and I-75 exit at Tuckers Grade is east of us. In both cases you cross HWY 41 going south or west, respectively.
There is usually room on site for a tow vehicle, particularly if there is only one or two RV’s. There is also room on the road shoulder.
Camping area is east of the house on shell gravel pads. There are obvious areas to back into that are paved with shell gravel or you can park in the open area. Avoid grassy areas as they may be soft.
There is a well water tap but it is not potable water.
Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, Ft Myers, FM Beach, Pine Island, Gasparilla Island, ICW.
Babcock Webb wildlife manafement area to the east of I-75 (80,000 acres) 4 miles away!
A very nice oasis in Punta Gorda. I am grateful for their hospitality
Great location if want to check out the Port Charlotte area. Hosts were very nice , and it was great to talk around the fire the last night. Hope to see them down the road sometime
This was the very first location my husband & I boondocked at with Boondockers Welcome, and it was SUCH a treat! We messaged them the same day we wanted to arrive and the hosts responded almost immediately! They allowed us to park there that night. We enjoyed a campfire together and some brats over the fire. The location was easy to find and easy parking for our sprinter van. There was a little deck to enjoy next to our parking spot as well. We only stayed for one night, but would definitely like to stay at this location next time we're around the Punta Gorda area! Thanks again for hosting us! :)
A very pleasant shady, mossy oaks site for our several days stop. We enjoyed this quiet, pleasant stay here. Hosts were great; friendly, helpful and accommodating. We even sat around the fire one night chatting. Highly recommend this place and people.
Note to birders: Added Red-cockeded Woodpecker to my life list just down the road a couple of miles at Babcock/Webb Wildlife Mgmt Area. Great area for many bird species.
We were given a very warm welcome. The location was perfect for our visit with our daughter. We loved hearing about their many adventures. Hope they can visit us in Ohio.
