We had two great sleeps. Wanda was very welcoming. Our second night we walked just down the road to the winery and that was fun:)
The stay was great! We left a little early (got behind on travel timeline) but our hostess was SO hospitable. Lot was level, clean and easy access. The cafe was perfect and I must say quite popular for a Sunday PM crowd!! Her staff Elias friendly and helpful too.
All in all I’d give her a 10/10!!!
Although we didn't meet our host the area was great. Close to the wright memorial and Roanoke island and the rest of the outer banks
We're sorry they were closed. The menu looked great. Next time through
we will pick a day they are open.
The parking lot is huge and easy to turn around in. The location is convenient. The beaches are about 10 minute drive away and Kitty Hawk museum is about 20 minute drive.
You can get propane at Metro Rental about a block from the Kitty Hawk Wright brothers museum.
The family ate at Wanda’s restaurant and the food was really good, the staff was all awesome and friendly. I loved the lemon meringue pie :)
Nice big flat gravel parking area. A bit noisy near the road but it quietens down during the evening and it didn’t bother us at all. Restaurant food was great and the staff were excellent.
The host was away so we’ll meet her next time around.
Owner was such a pleasure to meet. Very welcoming and accommodating. She gave us great info on the area and has pride in her amazing community. As a bonus, the grilled wings inside the family restaurant are to die for! Nice flat gravel lot with easy asses for our 40 ft motorhome and tow behind. Great location to everything! Would recommend.
As others have mentioned it’s a level lot off a fairly busy road that quiets down at night. Had a great meal at Bj’s for dinner. Definitely consider if you need a stop in the OBX region.
Stayed 2 days and Wanda really enjoyed the hospitality. As far as location they had a big gravel level lot. Easy to manuver 5th wheel to park and entry/exit. Good food too! Had Breakfast!! Western omelett and french toast. Very reasonably priced. Thanks much
We really appreciated Wanda's hospitality and allowing us to stay at BJs. While we never had a chance to meet our host as she is very busy with catering right now, she was quick to reply and let us know details. The spot was in a gravel lot and a great spot to stay convenient to the Outer Banks! Thank you!!
Thank you for your hospitality even if we have finally decided to do more mileage instead of staying one night at your location.
We have greatly appreciated your fast reply.

We were thrilled to be able to visit the Outer Banks - and this location was only about a half hour to visit the Wright Brothers Monument/Park and then we drove an hour and a half more down to Hatteras to see the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum. Close to tons of tourist-y stuff!
We stayed 2 nights and ate a dinner and breakfast at BJ's Carolina Cafe - both meals were great!
The parking lot was large - easy to pull in and park.
Thanks so much!!
Very convenient place to stay right off the highway. Very friendly host.
Thank you, Wanda, for providing a safe shelter for me and Stormy, my [email protected] 400, for two nights....literally in a storm! Your dinner and breakfast were delicious. I hope to meet you on future trips!
Thank you so much Wanda1 for having us.
Wanda1 was warm and generous in every communication. The spot was perfect for our stop in the Outer Banks.
Wanda greeted us warmly in the Cafe and we parked overnight in the adjacent car park. The site is easily accessed, flat and directly adjacent the main road .
Thanks Wanda.- good luck for the future.

Such an easy in and out, plenty of room. Close to everything on the Outer Banks. Did not get to meet Wanda on Sunday but had a delicious breakfast. Her emplyees are amazing especially T, who gave us a great tip on where to buy local seafood. My sister and her husband also stayed there and we left happy and full😊Thanks so much for the hospitality.
Thankyou so very much. You have a great spot here that allowed us to explore the beautiful outer banks. You made us feel very welcome. Sorry we didn't get to sign the guest book.
Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet you, but thank you for letting us stay the night. It set us up just right for our onward journey around your beautiful country.
Nice welcome from Wanda's staff at BJ's Carolina café.
Quiet place, easy parking.
Our host was warm and welcoming. We loved the location — perfect for exploring the outer banks then returning to enjoy supper at her restaurant with all of the locals. Thank you! We’re grateful for your hospitality and generosity.
The restaurant was closed when we arrived but our host and hostess met us when we arrived. Very kind and welcoming. Had a line of thunderstorms come through but was parked in their spacious lot facing west into the wind and all was fine (we also were positioned to use their house & trees next to the parking lot as a windbreak to the south). Really enjoyed chatting with hosts when we arrived; rest of time we had to work and they let us get on with what we had to do, though we did see them after the storm making sure guests were ok.
Re traffic - for us this was a welcoming place and we didn’t care about cars going by. Road has traffic noise but did not bother us at all; was like a background noise, no honking horns or trains or other sounds that we do find annoying, just cars going by and sound blends into a quiet white noise. Hope we can come back some time when restaurant is open - and hosts are nice people we would be glad to see again.
What an awesome host. Nice flat spot to stay with a great place to eat. It was a bit noisy being right off a main road but we still slept well. Once again our host was fantastic. We will stop by again someday. The wings were some of the best I have ever had. If you do t stay at least stop and eat.
We spent a wonderful weekend here. The [parking lot is large and open, lots of space to walk the dog away from people and a nice sunset view. We managed to arrive and get settled in time to visit the café for a great seafood and prime rib dinner. The restaurant was quite busy, but Wanda made time to come say Hi and chat for a few minutes.
Weather was perfect, sunny and good temps; we spent a day wandering down to Hatteras lighthouse and back up checking out the beaches on the way. What a beautiful part of the world you live in! Thank you for sharing this with us!
This was a perfect place to stay while enjoying the Outer Banks. The area was quiet and scenic yet close to major attractions. Very convenient! We also enjoyed the food :).
It was a very easy in and out and setup. We arrived on Wing night with live music. Would stay again.
Great stopping spot for us. Flat gravel lot with a good eatery next door.
Nice level parking. Very friendly staff and the restaurant. Made sure we were taken care of during our stay. Bonus: food was great.
We had a really great time at BJ's. Very easy to get to, large parking area that we had all to ourselves. Our Hosts were very welcoming. One of our Hosts greeted us upon our arrival. Both Hosts are extremely busy with their business, but they still made time to return a phone call and to check in if we needed anything. We would certainly return to this Boondocker location!
Nice place, enough space for several RV’s. Sadly enough the restaurant was closed so we still had to prepare our own supper
Was easy to find off of 4 lane road. Had dinner at the nice quaint restaurant. Very friendly staff. Didn't get to meet host but met her husband and we chatted a bit. Very nice gentleman. The spot was large with plenty of room to maneuver. Was in the open so was able to set up satellite. Another rig had pulled into the area and spent a couple of nights too. We ended up extending our stay to 3 nights. If you want to see the outer banks this is the spot.
We didn’t manage to meet Wanda but all communication was very easy. The location was great for our planned trip to the Outer Banks. Dinner was excellent and when we couldn’t‘t find another location Wanda allowed us to stay another night. Recommended
