AUTO PARKING LOT IN THE CITY OF SYDNEY
DO NOT LEAVE A MESS BEHIND
WALKING DISTANCE TO SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
The place is in a handy location, easy to find and close to many stores and gas. The host can give you a lot of good advice on things to see and do that aren't always on tourist maps. Highly recommended
We were not looking for ambiance but Paul's place is a conveniently located spot for a stop-over. Thank you.
Lots of place to park. There was another boondocker there too and we did not hear each other at all as we each had our own corner of the parking lot. I had a very quiet sleep as we were there on the weekend so the businesses around us were closed.
We did not use the wifi or electricity so I can’t comment on those this time around.
The host was very accommodating. We had a pleasant stay. Thank you for reading my post.
It was so easy to find this location! It is conveniently located in Sydney . We were able to find everything on our wish list!
Paul was a wealth of good information and sent us to an excellent eatery nearby!
This is an easy to access and quiet resting spot before catching the morning ferry to Newfoundland. Pleasant visit with our host, and we look forward to coming back when we have more time to explore Cape Breton Island. Thanks for being a BW host!
Not scenic. But...Good quiet stay 1/2 hour from the ferry. Paul is a very friendly and helpful host!
I was in Sydney suposedly for one night, but thanks to the host's good travel suggestions, I ended up spending to nights! Quiet from 5 pm to 8 am. I would definitely recommand this place, especially on a weekday, to meet the host.
We were touring Cape Breton with the support of Boondocker's Welcome when we experienced a suspension malfunction on our Class C. From my earlier searches of Boondocker's Welcome, I knew about THE CITY host location (about 30 minutes away) so took a chance and requested a stay with an additional request to have the RV suspension issue looked at while there. The host accepted both! We enjoyed exploring Sydney NS, and had our suspension inspected. The suspension issue was not critical and the parts were fairly long lead so we decided to delay the repair until we returned to our seasonal campground. In spite of being busy, the host always took time to be welcoming, informative, and helpful. The area is industrial so be prepared for busy during the day but quiet at night. Walking distance from most amenities, restaurants, grocery stores, liquor store, etc. I recommend THE CITY if your in the Sydney Area, and/or need a mechanic.
We stayed beside Paul's shop for two days and were able to plug in. In the Industrial area, site is gravel, level and easy to find. Paul is fun to talk to, loves the area and knows it well and boondocks so understands the lifestyle. Definitely worth considering as a BDW site! Thanx, Paul!
At this time of year, when the ferry gets in just before dark, can't tell you how comforting it was to know we had Paul's permission to stay once again. He really provides a wonderful service to RVers, despite running a busy shop. Thanks again, Paul.
Paul is full of information and very obligating. We had a great stay
Quiet location plenty of level room to park. We were here on a Friday night arrived after his shop closed and left Saturday morning so we did not get a chance to meet the host. Perfect launching point to head out to Cape Breton.
We stayed for three days. He asked what we wanted to do on our visit and he gave us a ton of suggestions. We didn't have time to do everything but every one of his suggestions was spot on. From food to hikes to seeing wildlife he knows this area.
Our ferry to NL was canceled yesterday due to high winds and Paul graciously told us we could stay longer. A convenient place to park, level, and quiet at night.
We didn't need work done but he runs a busy mechanic shop, including under-oiling and his price seems fair. He seems to have a loyal clientele too, so I'd recommend him for any mechanical issues if you needed a mechanic in the Sydney area.
Thank you, Paul! You're a great host to have in the program!
Paul is very kind and flexible. The location is the parking lot of his mechanic shop. After hours and through the night it was very quiet in this industrial area. We are grateful and would be happy to stay again.
We arrived late and left early, so was just a place to sleep which was appreciated.
A good spot to overnight before the ferry to the rock;)
We had a pleasant stay, however it was fast, as we arrived late and left early. A very convenient location. Our host was super accommodating, communicating clearly with us, and making us feel quite welcome!
Bel accueil, une personne sympathique, disponible à aider pour les places à voir. Merci
great place to stay, right in sydney, close to everything. paul is really helpfull, can guide you to things to see. also has a repair shop there if you need anything done to your rv. nice & quiet at night.
In the city is a quiet corner with a level gravel parking area. A good place to spend the night to get an early start on the attractions close by.
Even though we arrived to late to meet our host, he was easily assessable, and was kind enough to offer suggestions on fun places to visit. He is close to the ferry. Thank you for offering your place for us to boondock!
We had a quiet stay in the parking lot. Our host came by and gave us great suggestions for boondocking on the Cabot Trail. Our host was very knowledgeable and more than willing to help in all ways.
