This would be a nice place to park for a few nights to explore the Catskills or if you are passing by on Route 17 and need a place for the night as you travel through. It is in the field next to my house. There is a house across the road. There is also a summer home development behind the property separated by a fence and trees. Sometime in the summer you will hear the happy sounds of children playing outside until about 11:00. It is located about 7 miles out of the village of Monticello. There is a stone fire ring that you are welcome to use responsibly. I can provide you with a bucket of water or 2 to put a fire out when you are done. Suggested Local Attractions:We are located less than 15 miles from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts where you could visit the museum or attend a concert. World Resorts Casino and the Kartrite Water Park are about 10 miles away. You can canoe or kayak about 10 miles away on a reservoir and possibly see a beautiful eagle. About an hour away you can hike Giant Ledge, Slide Mountain or visit Minnewaska State Park .

House Rules

I hope you will be friendly and have a good time enjoying the area. Please be quiet after 9:00 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends to respect my neighbors. Dogs are welcome and it is up to you if they can be off leash. I have 2 dogs that I supervise off leash. However the property is close to the road and I don't want any pets to run out there and get hurt. However, mine would love to run and play with your dog!

Location

Access Road Conditions: This is a field on the side of a country road. There is a varying grade from the road to the parking spot. Enter carefully from the more gradual end and exit the steeper end. I tried to capture it in the pictures, but it doesn't show up well. The road can be busy in the summer months, but is mostly calm to quiet in non summer months. If it has been rainy before you arrive, you may find the field soft and large rigs will get stuck. I can let you know the conditions a few days before you would like to camp. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is plenty of room to park your vehicle.

We stayed 1 night on our way from NY state to PA. Were able to get approved with short notice as we decided to visit the Woodstock museum on our way to PA. And our gracious host gifted us with fresh eggs from her chickens. The road is busy but quiet at night. The slope down onto the field was intimidating but we found a nice level spot and enjoyed a very peaceful night. We really enjoyed the museum, so if you're in the area, check it out, buy your tickets in advance to save $$

The Host, Susan was very accommodating. Her field was too wet to park so she had us set up in her driveway. Gifted us with fresh eggs from the chicken coop. Very convenient location if you want to visit the Woodstock Historical Site in Bethel NY ( which we also highly recommend!). Thank you, Susan!
