Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostThis would be a nice place to park for a few nights to explore the Catskills or if you are passing by on Route 17 and need a place for the night as you travel through. It is in the field next to my house. There is a house across the road. There is also a summer home development behind the property. Sometime in the summer you will hear happy sounds/kids out playing until about 11:00. It is located about 7 miles out of the village of Monticello. It beats parking at Walmart! There is a stone fire ring, that hasn't been used in many years. You are welcome to use it responsibly. I can provide you with a bucket of water or 2 to put it out when you are done.
I hope you will be friendly and have a good time enjoying the area. Please be quiet after 9:00 on weekdays and 11:00 on weekends to respect my neighbors. Dogs are welcome and it is up to you if they can be off leash. I have 2 dogs that I supervise off leash. However the property is close to the road and I don't want any pets to run out there and get hurt. However, mine would love to run and play with your dog!
This is a field on the side of a country road. There is a varying grade from the road to the parking spot. I don't think it would be a problem to enter the more gradual end and exit the steeper end. I tried to capture it in the pictures, but it doesn't show up well. The road can be busy in the summer months, but is mostly calm to quiet in non summer months.
This is a large field and there is plenty of space to park your vehicle near your camper.
We are located less than 15 miles from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts where you could visit the museum or attend a concert. World Resorts Casino and the Kartrite Water Park are about 10 miles away. You can canoe or kayak about 10 miles away on a reservoir and possibly see a beautiful eagle. About an hour away you can hike Giant Ledge, Slide Mountain or visit Minnewaska State Park .
I had a great overnight stay. The host greeted me and showed me where to park.
Shurlsmith was very friendly and fun to talk to. Her field was quiet and well drained. We were worried about getting stuck because it was raining but we got out with no problems.
what a beautiful stay... enough meadow mown to park easily, and enough meadow kept for a lovely view. All accompanied by an amiable and accommodating host.
shurlsmith's place was so awesome! Several acres in a beautiful country setting, fire ring and all! host could not have been nicer and more gracious and what a great little village, only 20 minutes from the original Woodstock. Would highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. Thanks for hosting us!
Friendly hostess and pups. Spacious field on a country road. Thank you!
The leaves are starting to change and if your looking for fall foliage this is your place! Our host and her pups were so much fun. We chatted and she gave us ideas on restaurants, and things to see. She was very accommodating and helpful. We recommend this stop for your fall vacation!
