I live in a tiny house on a large, 1/3 acre lot, securely gated. Due to the extreme winter weather we are experiencing, stay on cement, please. Generators allowed from 8 am to 9 pm ONLY. I don't have a bbq or fire ring; if you do, feel free to use. PETS - Dogs and pets are very welcome to run around unleashed. You MUST immediately pick up after your pet. The neighbor has a St Bernard and a small Terrier. They bark at everyone and everything but are harmless. There are 4 'neighbor' cats that like to hang in the yard. My dogs aren't bothered by them. They are very timid and will run away. You are welcome to hang out in my little patio. Feel free to practice your gardening skills. I'm located about 1/2 block from the freeway. While it can get a bit loud outside, you won't hear it once inside.
All I ask is that you show common courtesy and respect to me and the property and take great care of my dogs. As a Boondocker, you must be self-sufficient. In case of emergency and you require the use my utilities, you will be expected to pay for it. Clean up after yourself and leave it like you'd want to find it. Alcohol consumption is fine, all I ask is that you drink responsibly and don't get belligerent. Marijuana is legal here in California, and I have no issues with it. However, no other drugs - ever!! If you smoke, please use an ashtray and don't leave butts or ash. I won't complain if you help in the garden (luckily no grass to mow or water). If you have pets, you MUST clean up after them immediately. Please keep the music and noise to a minimum. Most importantly - remember that you are a GUEST on my property. This is not party-central - if you want to meet up with friends/guests, please do so elsewhere. Communication is key. If you aren't sure, ask.
I live on a dead-end road. It's a normal sized city street. Turning into the driveway may take some fine tuning on trash day (Friday mornings) as neighbors tend to throw their cans a little too far into the road. Road is flat, no bumps, no gravel. The neighbors fence sticks out a bit so turning into the driveway may take some fancy turning.
The property is 1/3 of an acre. You are welcome to park wherever you like on cement or dirt. NOTE: the gate is 14 feet wide. the cement pad is 60 feet long. The photos don't do a very good job showing the depth but it is a fairly large lot. The lot is secured by a gate.
If you are interested in an extended stay, email me to discuss.
I live in an ideal location with many attractions a very short drive away - keep in mind, this is LA and we're subject to horrid traffic. Bus stop 1 block away. McDonalds on the corner (but I don't recommend; it's horrible!). In-N-Out is straight down the street about 1 1/2 miles. Trader Joes, Sprouts (much better than whole foods), and Vallarta (great mexican market) just over the hill. Many hiking trails 5 minutes away. FedEx Office close by. Beaches are about 20 to 30 minutes away. Downtown is a short 15 minutes away. Mountains are about 45 minutes away. Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm are about 20 to 30 minutes away. Hsi Lai Temple is about 5 minutes away (amazing veggie buffets on weekends, and super cheap!), WalMart is about 2 minutes away, and Mall is about 3 or 4 minutes away. Golf Club is about 10 minutes away. Hollywood isn't much further past Downtown but the traffic between Downtown and Hollywood is horrendous! Too much to list. If there is something specific you are interested in, please ask as I'm happy to assist.
We had a lovely stay with this kind host. We felt very welcome in her cozy little backyard and were happy to get to meet her in the morning. She also recommended us a great spot for our kid to have fun in the neighborhood.
Great stay at Homegirls Haven! Perfect place to stay while visiting LA. You will find a level spot for your RV in a neighborhood where we felt safe. Our host was kind enough to share ideas of what we could do in the area. Got to do some fun things in LA and there is no way we would have been able to unless we had this space. We had to change our schedule last minute due to a snow storm to the area we were planning to visit and our host kindly accommodated us while we made arrangements. Snow capped mountains right around the corner, to top it all off! Thank you so much!
I love this place!! Thank you so much again for being so kind for having me and offering a HOME in this crazy madness of LA! :-)
Majnomad was a stellar host. She was so flexible with our needs and our schedule, her little dogs are absolutely adorable, and she's such a genuinely good person to get to be around.
I had such a great time at majnomad's house! Super easy going, such a generous and friendly person, she didn't in any way mind my schedule. I felt very welcomed and she made me feel HOME immediately! She has lots of space and offered to park anywhere I want. Hook ups if needed and I could separate my trash. Her dogs are little cuties too! The neighborhood offers all you need in a short distance and I felt very secure. I had to sit out a heavy rain day, which can turn the already terrible traffic in LA completely upside down and majnomad offered me to stay even longer, since all that matters to her was me being safe. She is one of this amazing examples, why the nomad community is so wonderful and somewhat a big family and we look out for each other. I am looking forward to be back soon and also see her progress on working on her trailer and hopefully return the favor with anything I can help with! Thanks again! :-)
This is a wonderful, peaceful place to boondock with an amazing host. I am so grateful.
Great place to stay within a reasonable distance of LA. Public transport is cheap, frequent and really close.
Our host was lovely, a mine of useful information on LA and further afield.
