We are a Royal Gorge region tour company that welcomes your visit! If you stop for a night or two in our lot you'll have paved/level parking and convenient access to Highway 50 for your travels through Canon City. Our private lot is close to many things yet tucked away in a fairly quiet in-town neighborhood surrounded by large trees, which provide some shade. We have a covered picnic table area that you're welcome to use, and our grassy field, adjacent to the concrete parking, is perfect for your dog walks (the neighborhood deer visit often!).
Nearby conveniences within a mile or less (level and walkable) include fast food, hardware stores, coffee shops, sit-down restaurants, auto repair shops (that we use and recommend), banks, veterinary, pet supplies, vision clinic, office supplies, gas station with convenience store, car wash, and more. Walmart, the post office and a large off-leash fenced dog park are only a few miles away.
As we are a tour company, we can entertain you with off-road jeep tours, whitewater rafting, wine tasting, visits to the Royal Gorge Bridge, rides on the Royal Gorge Railroad, zip lining and more while you're here. Seasonally, most full-day packages include transportation and lunch, so you may not even have to move your RV to have fun when you visit our awesome town. (Want to take a ColoradoJeepTours.com jeep adventure? Visit their website and enter Promo Code "RGI2019" to save 10% off a half-day jeep tour!)
When you arrive during business hours we'll try to welcome you if we are available, provide any tourism assistance you may need, give you info on whatever interests you, then leave you alone to enjoy your stay. We would love to earn your business, of course, but there will be no hard sell. Outside of peak season you may not see us, but we are available by email, phone and text 7 days a week from 8am to 5pm year-round.
This is a business parking lot in town, but it's a mixed use area and we have residential neighbors so please:
* No generators, loud music, parties, idling engines, etc between 8pm and 8 am.
* Leashed and well-behaved pets are welcome. Please clean up after them at all times.
* As we sometimes have unwelcomed Boondockers, and we want to keep the property secure, we request that you text us when you arrive and conclude your stay, so we know who is on the property with permission.
Paved road and level paved parking. This is the customer parking for a tour business that uses buses so there is no problem to fit most RVs.
Large parking lot with good turn-around space. Can accommodate large rigs. Might have to disconnect to park for the night depending on how full the lot is and how long your tow is.
We cannot provide availability when we are in the middle of peak season (especially the month of July) since our parking lot fills up every day. However, if you would like to book a tour with us, we will do our best to work with you to stay on the property. Even if we are blocked out, please feel free to inquire. We might still be able to make room, especially smaller RVs, campers and vans without tow vehicles.
Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, Holy Cross Abbey Winery, whitewater rafting (seasonal), Jeep tours of the Cripple Creek gold mining district, Red Canyon and the a Royal Gorge, the Royal Gorge train along the Arkansas River, local farms and markets, the Gold Belt Scenic Byway, hiking trails, walking paths along the river, a historic downtown, events, festivals and so much more. We are an hour (or less) from Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Pueblo, and the Pikes Peak region! Canon City is a less crowded and less expensive jumping off point to all attractions in the Southern Colorado Front Range region.

At 5:30 in the evening, we realized we were going to need a spot to stay. Within half an hour, Royal gorge adventures answered our call and approved our stay. We stayed in a quiet back lot and he even allowed us to fill our water tank. A great host.
Peaceful place to park for the night, we got there early enough to cook out on our blackstone and have a nice dinner outside our rig, beautiful evening.
Spot was fairly level and easy in and out.
The parking lot was as described and no problems at all finding it or parking. Had people lurking around camper in the middle of the night so we packed up and let in the middle of the night and left. May have been an innocent situation but we felt safer leaving. Overall is was quite and easy in and out.
They were very nice to us. We needed some work done on our bike rack and they provided us some recommendation and offered to let us stay as long as required to get work done. Thanks
Enjoyed our stay and meeting the owners. We have a big rig and it was very easy! Quiet and peaceful!
This is the second time I’ve stayed here, great spot for in town and just off the highway. The hosts are excellent communicators. I parked next to the grassy spot where I saw deer grazing in the morning last year. Thanks for the wonderful spot to spend the night!
This was a great place to stay to visit the area. All communication was very fast and positive. We went on an awesome whitewater rafting trip as well as a super fun and informative train ride thanks to their recommendations. Every person we encountered on this trip was delightful! We will be back! Thanks!
Driving directions a little confusing Due to road work . Never met either host ~ all contact done by text or phone. Site was great.. Large grassy site~ They invited us to park on grass. Dogs loved it.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
A great level shaded site. Friendly and helpful hosts. The town has many nice restaurants, nice parks and museums. A great river with walking trails. Royal Gorge Adventures offers Rafting Tours and Jeep Trail Rides. Save some time to schedule a memorable adventure
Nice level parking lot. Susie gave us an excellent recommendation for where to watch the sunset over the gorge and we went rafting with their company the next morning. So much fun!
Thanks so much for a safe place to stay while we checked out the area! We had a great time and it was a perfect place to stay! Thanks for everything!
For us, traveling with our fur kids, it's not always easy finding a place to park overnight. So finding Caninecreek was a gift from the universe!
Although this location was located right in town, this Native Wyoming gal was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it got after the businesses closed for the evening.
I awoke feeling grateful knowing there are still some very incredibly giving souls among all the chaos we sometimes experience!
Life is useful when you find like-minded souls!
We are truly blessed!
What a pleasant break from the daytime temperature of 104 degrees to overnight in the cool Colorado mountain air once again.
Thank you you two for allowing us to overnight in your parking lot. It was not only quiet, but peaceful.
This is a quiet location in the city. Very close to local attractions, lots of places to eat and shop. The site was level. The host is unbeatable and offered many wonderful ideas for activities and places to eat. Even helped to find the best places to park when we enjoyed a wonderful train ride. The company also offers many other fun activities. Thank you for a great stay!
We stayed at royal gorge adventures and had a very good experience. The owner came to greet us (even though it was after hours) It was a quiet and clean place to park. Our generator was allowed so we could make dinner. We headed out first thing in the morning To beat the weather (snow storm was approaching). We wish we could have stayed longer and taken a Jeep tour! Oh well, next time!
We enjoyed our stay at this boondocker location! It was very quite and we loved the visiting deers in the morning. The location is great, close to everything. We will definitely come back and enjoy some of the many adventures offered. Thank you so much for your generous hospitality!
We had a very nice stay after visiting the Colorado Springs area. Easy to find and easy to get parked in, the host stopped by for a quick visit after we got set up . We would have liked to spend more time in the area but a storm was moveing in so we left early the next morning . Definitely would stay here agian if we are in the area.
This was a great place to park for the night, a concrete pad with a grassy area next to it to walk the dog. Far enough from the street and highway to get away from the noise. As I write this, 5 deer showed up to graze in the grass.
